  1. Ended up putting in at moon valley and paddling way upstream. They liked the swim bait. Ended up catching 10 with 3 at 14 in 14.5 in and 15.5 in.
  2. Might go back again this afternoon to investigate, also might go somewhere new. If I go somewhere new I’m thinking Lead Mine, Moon Valley? I normally paddle upstream and then fish down. What’s another accesses where that’s possible. Or if anyone on the fourm wants to go out today and self shuttle with me?
  3. I have been fishing this short stretch for a few years, last summer it was rare for me to catch less than 10 fish. Could the high waters have changed my hole?
  4. Well, river looks really good right now! That and finding a paddle in a log jam were the only good things about the trip. Fished 4-8 my normal 300 yard stretch and not a single fish. Didn’t even see one!
  5. Took the boat out with my dad early this morning and had some fun with the top water bite on the loz! Headed to hit a few different spots on the Niangua this evening to chase some smallmouth! Hoping to catch some on whopper plopper, shakey head, and a soft swimbaits! Report to follow. Any fished it lately?
  6. It’s what keeps me up at night
  7. Had the jet out on lake N this afternoon once the wind died down a little bit. It’s on its way down but was pretty muddy. Caught em on a spinnerbait again and also some swimbaits. I am still reluctant to give up on that area, I know there are big fish in it. I just struggle to find them there unless it’s winter.
  8. Been home from school for a week and finally got some time in on the river this morning. Water is moving quick and a little murky. Moving quick enough that going upstream requires serious effort. I’m a young kid in good shape and a strong swimmer. I was alone this morning and got off early because I didn’t feel safe with how the river was moving and being alone. Gravel bars are under water. Spinnerbaits and squarebills/wiggle warts bouncing off of logs/boulders was the ticket today. I’m usually a jig guy but that was not going to be possible today. Also, most of you know I’m terrified of snakes and saw 10 to many. Had one think we were buddies and swim up to me. That woke me up. Be safe on the river this weekend! Good luck!
  9. I was out this morning, I did catch fish, but the river is still moving pretty quick and a little murky. The gravel bars I usually stop are covered by 2 feet of water. Spinner bait around logs, running square bills/wiggles warts over boulders/logs. I’m a young guy (19) and play college football and I found myself a little nervous in some areas with how the water was moving. I was between Barclay and Eldridge. Be safe, good luck!
  10. Will do wrench!
  11. Headed home for summer from college on May 8th. Been hammering crappie on the big pond for the last several weekends. Ready to switch gears and break out the yak to hammer some smallies. Can’t wait to try out some new camping gear and new ways to catch the smallies I have picked up since last summer. Hammered some winter smallies in December and can’t wait to get back after em
  12. High and very muddy
  13. Any good water anywhere right now? Considering looking for clean water here or at pomme doing hoping to find some crappie or chase some whites. If those are unsuccessful we will just fish for the green ones
  14. How is the water right now? Is it chocolate milk or even fishable? Want to give it a try tomorrow or Saturday
  15. Feeling sad tonight, came home for spring break hoping to spend all my time one the river. Seems every time I’m able to come home the rains come with me. Sad thing is that it was perfect this past week.
  16. Surprises the hell out of me that the river is staying in it’s banks. You would think it would be flooded out with how wet it has been this winter. And it dropped a good amount last night from looking at the graphs. Anyone know why the Niangua doesn’t seem to really ever flood?
  17. Found some slower moving water and that was the trick, tried other spots but water was moving too quickly. Wasn’t a numbers day but caught and released some good ones and a personal best
  18. Several on Facebook, check Lilly’s resort Facebook page
  19. Anyone here about the potenital state record brown trout today caught in a trout tournament on lake Taneycomo? Ive read that it measures 40 inches and 38 in girth. 33lbs. It is off for further measurements now. They plan on trying to keep it alive and to release it.
  20. The river fished well for me this morning
  21. Thank you, I will try them both today. Should I try real worms are stay with something like a zoom trick worm?
  22. Where have all the goggle eye gone? I have caught 60< smallies this winter and not one goggle eye. I wanna catch some and bring it back up to college for my STL buddies to try. Was gonna bring crappie but struggled today with my dad on LOZ. Hoping to find some goggle eye in the next few days.
