  1. Yeah but the small fish taste better. :P
  2. I think the MDC was a fine organization but as brownieman says "since the got the 1/8 cent sales tax...." they have gone downhill. I agree with him in that statement. They quit being a working organization and became a revenue earner for the state plain and simple. Think about it, with all the billions they have, they cut trout limits by 20% and reduced the numbers stocked to work on the hatchery at Taney. They have earned millions or more like billions from sales tax earnings, license fees ect but when it came time to do some maintenance and improvements they would not do it unless the public was going to pay extra for it. They were unwilling to put any money back into the infrastructure that supports their org. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Bottom line, they have became exceedingly greedy.
  3. Boaters are good about it especially to bank fishermen. I guess they figure bank fishermen are a non-threat target since we can't give pursuit. I was fishing at Rockaway Beach fishing dock when a boat came by the dock so close he tangled everyones lines, made a heck of a mess. I mean he wasn't 5 feet from the dock and running flat out. I wonder how hard mono is on the lower unit of an outboard. Another time a high powered boat got right in front of the dock and threw the biggest wakes possible for about 20 minutes.
  4. He was a real fighter and acrobatic too. When I set the hook he jumped clean over my head and landed behind me.
  5. I realize they stock other species. I was being sarcastic hence the silly icon however, there is no where the bucks spent on other fish as there are on Trout, but then most catfishermen don't buy $1000+ fishing rods or $30,000+ bass boats, so they don't generate near the sales or income tax for the MDC/State as other fish do. You are right catfish are the number one pursued fish in MO but you couldn't tell it by the amount of bucks spent on them.
  6. It finally happened. I caught a fish!!!
  7. Aren't there fish other than trout the MDC could spend a little money on stocking or is it that they just want to spend money on the big money earners.
