  1. How much are your single rooms?
  2. I have heard of them stocking nearly every kind of fish I can think of. Bass, Bluegill, Redear, Channel cat, Spoonbill, Carp of all kinds, Sturgeon........ It would be easier to list the fish they havent stocked and the only one that comes to mind is Gar and I would bet at sometime and someplace, those have been stocked too.
  3. UHhh, was you trying to make a point? Heh heh
  4. Hey Duckman: Thanks for the info. Could you give me an idea where Danes is? Taberville, Rocky Ford, Shell City? I will try to find the place you are talking about. With any luck I will see you there this weekend. gonefishin'
  5. It all seems pretty simple to me. The law says no soft plastic and that should mean 'no soft plastic'. From some of the posts above it looks to me like a person could take a tube jig add a couple of whips of thread and bingo you got a legal fly. Looks to me like the law is getting stretched pretty thin in places.
  6. Thanks guys
  7. I am looking for some locations to snag for spoonbills from bank. The only place I really know about to snag from bank is under the 65 bridge at Warsaw. Would appreciate it if ya'll could let me in on some other locations.
  8. Good reasoning Al. I asked a question earlier about interbreeding or crossbreeding of wolves and dogs. As I see it crossbreeding already is a problem. There have been numerous crossbred wolf/dogs dumped by people. Eventually they will interbreed with wolves and or other dogs. These crossbreds will carry both wolf and dog genes. Just as happened with coydogs interbreeding could be a problem. The difference being that wolfdogs could literally be a big enough problem to bite someone in the butt.
  9. And remember if you need someone to ride around with you, in your boat, on the Rock.....invite me before you invite anyone else.
  10. Years ago, in the early days of organized tourneys, there used to be some talk about the mortality rate of bass caught and released during a tournament. Mostly the talk was about the mortality rate of bigger fish. There were several factors that were discussed about the causes. One established fact was was the length of time between when the fish was hooked and boated. Then as added injury there was the being handled, being hauled and banged around in a livewell, the stress of the weigh in and being released in a totally different part of the lake. All of this continued stress increases the mortality rate. A lot of catch and release fans point at smaller fish and say "See, this fish has been caught many times without harm". This is of course true of small fish. The fight doesn't last long and they are generally immediatly released to the water near their home turf. It is the Large fish that die and the larger the fish the more likely it is to die. It was reported that that fish would die for up to 3 days after a tourney There was also talk about loss of the nest. There is only a time frame of a few seconds that a bass can be away from a nest, after that it is all over for the eggs or fry. If I recall correctly it was decided that states all had stocking programs so it didn't matter anyway. This talk all died out when it became obvious there were big bucks in tourneys.
  11. Opps. Sorry. I was having an AAADD 'age activated attention deficit disorder moment'. My question should have been: "A question for JS. How would you handle the problem of wolves cross-breeding with dogs?"
  12. A question for JS. How would you handle the problem of wolves inbreeding with dogs?
  13. Stockton is public property. The marina owners are leasing from the public. They have no right to restrict fishing near the docks. If the marina owners have a problem with the public whom they lease from then they should sell out, close down, move on or whatever.
  14. Welcome to the nut house Joe. Glad you are here. Jump in and get yer feet wet.
  15. No kidding. This is a tragedy plain and simple. Those who would use it to gain in their political objectives are .... well, sick. How did an foreigner legally purchase a hand gun? It clearly asks on the paperwork if a person is a citizen or not. A 'no' answer should have been cause for a reject.
  16. It wouldn't be such a problem if one could do something about them. If a disease is killing your livestock you can give shots or take some action to end it but with the laws protecting wolves you can do nothing but sit idly by. A person can get more time in prison for killing, (errr...sorry I forgot to sensationalize) murdering, a wolf than for murdering a human being. Go figure.
  17. One might notice that a lot of people shout it is only Americans that do this but, has anyone noticed that the person who done this was not an American but rather a Korean going to school here. I dunno maybe its in the water....... About the gun vs anti-gun and or Dem vs Rep. I still think it shameful that this tragedy perpetrated by a non-American will be turned into a political shouting match for either side.
  18. Agreed. I am no fan of having large predators in my back yard. Be it Wolves or Cougars. My point was they, predators, are going to do what is natural to them and in this area that is going to involve cattle and if cattle aren't available then it will be anything lower on the food chain than the wolves are. I don't have a problem with them or their doing what they do in less populated areas. I don't think it would be wise to re-introduce them to this part of the world at all.
  19. If I recall correctly I was taught that wolves were top predators that mainly preyed on the Buffalo herds that used to roam the plains. Now it seems logical to me that when faced with starvation a predator would try to find and hunt its natural prey. What animal, of any appreciable abundance, in all of the Ozarks closest resembles a Buffalo? I would say the wolves were/are just doing what wolves do.
  20. I think it disgusting that the anti-gun people and some of the press would like to make a political issue out of a tragedy.
  21. I agree with most everything you guys have said. I think however what will happen here is we will get another bunch of anti-gun laws maybe have gun ownership totally banned. The anti-gunners are already squealing like pigs caught in a gate. Of course anti-gun laws will, as usual, do nothing to address the real problem.
  22. Feeding the government or its agency enough money is like giving a cocaine addict enough dope. It just isn't possible. The funny thing is that the government and their agencies are more devious at coming up with ways to get a fix than drug addicts are. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" the government is so good at propaganda that they actually get people to fight and argue over the good intentions even though most of the time the so called good intentions lead to loss of everyones rights or privilege's. It would be hard to get a lot of people fired up over this subject because they see it as only $4.00 but to a young struggling family of say 5 looking for something affordaboe to do on a Sunday afternoon it is a BIG deal. All of a sudden it costs $20 to walk around public owned property. If they get away with this in the state parks on the lakes then how long will it be before it costs $4.00 to walk around/hunt in Mark Twain; then how much does it cost tax payers to hire enforcement to police the fee?
  23. Nice pic but why did you have it on your back door? Do you know who took it? Are you offering a reward?
  24. DO: I was checking out the generation charts you posted the link for. The posts are all for last week. Any idea when new ones will be posted? DO: HMMMmm nevermind. I got it figured out. Thanks
  25. DO: You are right. I need to find a fishing buddy or two or even three. The tailrace at Warsaw is my favorite place to fish this time of year. Anyway regardless I will be up there next week. Probably Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the weather. I don't mind fishing in the rain but it makes me a little nervous to stand next to the water and wave a lightning rod around at the sky when it is storming.
