  1. Is there a fall top water bite for striper on Norfork lake? Or is it primarily vertically jigging spoons this time of year?
  2. Bread intermixed with fish food pellets sounds like an excellent idea. Is this legal within the park though? Based on the regulations I have seen it seems like it is I just would hate to get in trouble.
  3. Hello, I have started fishing trout parks, Montauk State Park, to be specific. However, I can’t catch anything. I’m using an ultralight spinning rod/reel with either 2lb or 4lb test. I’ve tried fire worms, and fire eggs with a small hook and a tiny split shot just to get the lure deeper in the water column. I’ve also tried a micro jig to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don’t see many people catching fish while I’m there. The park is loaded with trout though. The only thing I can figure is to have much success you have to be there as soon as they release them in the morning.
  4. Hello, looking for advice on finding fish during this time of year and strategies to catch them. I primarily fish for largemouth bass. However, I would like to try for a striper and a walleye. I fish from the redbanks area. So far I’ve been flipping docks and rocky banks with a Texas rigged creature bait. I’m only averaging one or two fish per trip. Is there typically a top water bite in fall for bass and stripers?
  5. Went out last night. Lots of big wake boats in the area to the left and behind spring creek access. I fished the big worm Texas rigged with a 5/0 hook and 1/2oz Texas rigged weight. I broke a rod in half throwing the big worm lol. I guess it was too heavy for the rod, I didn’t think it would be but my broken rod says differently. It was a fairly old rod so perhaps it was just its time to go.
  6. I’ve been hearing a lot about big worms lately. I picked up a couple varieties in red yesterday hoping to try them out tonight on bull shoals if the lake traffic isn’t too bad in the evening.
  7. Hello, looking for any tips or tricks to catch fish on Bull shoals this time of year. I’m not looking to steal anyone’s “spot” just curious about what colors and types of lures people are having success with as well as general depth fish are being found in. I will likely put in at the access point around Isabella mo. I have only fished Bull shoals once, I usually go to Norfork. Looking to target bass and maybe try for a walleye.
  8. Think traffic would be manageable this weekend early mornings and late evenings talking 5am-9am and 6-8:30pm? I’ve only been out on that lake a handful of times and it’s usually got a lot of skiers and recreational boaters from what I remember.
  9. Hello, does anyone have any experience fishing clear water lake over near Ellington and Piedmont Missouri? Are there walleye in the lake? Also, how would you suggest targeting bass this time of year? I’m thinking about trolling some deep diving crank baits and vertically jigging binks spoons.
  10. Hello, I’m new to fishing Norfork lake. I utilize the red banks access of the lake. I would like to try and catch some Striper or hybrids. Any chance of getting into these fish on that portion of the lake? From my understand most are either at the dam or up the Norfork river but I’m hoping some hang out around red banks.
  11. Yes, it’s been rebuilt
  12. Hello, I’m looking for information on Tecumseh access for the Norfork river/lake. I have been wanting to put in there but have been scared off due to articles of boats flipping and drownings occurring. Is that section really dangerous, and what is the water depth in and around that area an up stream? I run an 18ft flat bottom river boat with a 40hp jet.
