We took a day trip to the river after dropping the boys off at school this morning. Stripped streamers for a few hours and caught a couple. This one nailed a #4 tan & olive sculpzilla. Wife got to see a river otter too. Awesome day.

That runs in my family too griz.

Spent a few hours at Rim Shoals today and had a blast. Fished mostly streamers, and it was great getting to explore Rim with low water. Caught 6, but forgot sunscreen. Haha

My wife gave me a trip to the Ozarks for my birthday, and its been super awesome. Caught the biggest trout of my life at Ackerman yesterday on a #6 olive woolly bugger with rubber legs. It put up an epic battle, and i wasn't sure i was gonna get it in. Lol. My wife took a few pics, and then it swam away strong. Incredible experience.

Stopped by the lake this morning after dropping the boys off at school. Caught a couple of largemouths stripping a #6 ginger Bunny Leech. Spring is here.😁… sure am missing the ozarks and trout fishing though.

We got the chance to get out of town, so we bolted to Oklahoma. I fished yesterday evening and this morning, and caught 15 or so with black and olive buggers. Caught a couple of really nice ones today and had an encounter with a friendly river otter at daybreak. He torpedoed right up to where i was standing and startled the crap out of me. Lol. It was big and I had no idea what he was at first. I jumped and almost slipped on the rocks. 😅 He was about 5 feet from me and stuck his head and whiskers out the water. He stared me in the eyes for about 5 seconds as if to say, “You alright man?” Lol.. then he dipped his head back under and swam off. Guess he just wanted to check me out. Pretty cool seeing one up close like that.

The wife and I got a chance to get away again, so we bolted to Hochatown. Had a fun day on the river and caught 10 or so. This one chose the iron lotus over the prince nymph on a double nymph rig. Actually got to wet wade today… in November.😎

Went back yesterday morning before going back home and caught a few more on woolly buggers. This one didnt want to come in. Very nice trip.

Me and the wifey made it over to Hochatown for a date night, and i got a little fishing in this afternoon. Super windy, but managed to catch a few on black and olive woolly buggers. Got one little guy on a crackleback after reading some of netboy’s White River reports.😁👍

Lake Cherokee- Longview, TX….. Went out to my parents’ place to practice fly fishing. Was throwing woolly buggers for largemouths, and this beast latched on. Never caught a carp before, but dang that was fun. At first, i thought, uh oh this bass is huge, but it felt too strong. Then i thought maybe i snagged a big blue cat or flathead. It stayed low and it took me forever to get it in. It took me to the backing, but then started swimming back to me. Finally i was able to wear it down and land it. It was hooked right in the upper lip. Released this dude, and it swam away strong. Super cool.

Living in Salida would be a dream come true for me. Super cool little town and great location.

Those are gonna be sweet.

👍Yes sir, thats what I do… Already missing that place. Cant wait till i can go back to the river again. Hopefully next time i’ll be bringing a fly rod too.

I’ll have to get me some of those. I usually just flatten the barbs with my hemostats, but those would be handy. I had some of your jigs that i got from your shop when we went to Branson, but now i’m out. They work great. I need to place an order to replete my arsenal. A rock in the Arkansas River in Colorado claimed my last one. Lol…. Colorado trout like Lilley’s Jigs too by the way. Lol

Hey phil. I fished Rim Shoals, Wildcat Shoals, and the State Park up by the dam. Rim Shoals and the State Park are barbless… On the Norfork, there is a barbless section at Ackerman Access.

Had the weekend off, so me and the fam decided to head up to Mountain Home for some river time. The Norfork was too high, but the White was perfect in the mornings. Man, you guys are so lucky and blessed to have those rivers. I caught a lot of fish, and we had a great time. I caught a nice brown and 2 pretty little cutthroats which was super cool. Those were my first cutts ever. I even caught a little smallmouth which was a surprise. I caught all of these on marabou jigs. Here’s a few of the fish i managed to get to the net.
