Walt is on the board. Welcome, finally.

I'd say somewhere in St. James would be your best bet. I'm not really familiar with the town, but driving through, I've noticed some motels along the way.

Phil, The insurance is basic trip insurance like you can get through a travel agent. Like if something comes up at the last minute (illness), whatever, and you can't go, you can have your money refunded. If your initial price doesn't get accepted, you will have to re-send a higher bid, or change locations. That is, if you wanted to book in St. Louis for example, it will give you several areas of town (downtown, westport, central west end, forest park, you get the picture), you can change your price, or change locations. Be careful though, it will only let you re-bid a couple of times. I've had no problems getting hotels like the Sheraton next to Savvis or the Hyatt Regency for $40.00 a night in Saint Louis. I booked an entire trip to Colorado, airfare, hotels, and rental car through them. I bet I paid less than half of what I would have with travelocity or orbitz. I've used both of them too with no problems. The online travel sites are all I use anymore. I've had a couple of booking problems, but a quick phone call has been all it has taken to get things lined out. They are all very professional.

Phil, Once your price has been accepted, you are commited. That being said, I've always been satisfied with what I've received. I've stayed at some top of the line places for very little. I've even been upgraded to a suite at the check in desk because the room I booked wasn't available. Never been a problem for me.

Russ, No. That's from when I bought it. It was about this time last year. Thanks, Kyle

On your way through J.C., check out the river side of the Capitol. There's been several nesting eagles for the last several years right behind the treaty statue on that side. Makes for a beautiful photo opp. They seem like they like to pose also. Beautiful!!!!!! Give me a note next time. I'll make time to fish!

Russ, PM Sent with pictures. Maybe not. I can't figure out how to attach the file. I'll keep trying. Here, let's see if that worked. Woo Hoo! I can learn. Everything's the same except it's a year older. Only used about six times. I've put carpet in it that matches. The right rear stabilizer is bent. Drug it on the ground. I'm sure it's nothing that someone with a little skill can't fix. Thanks for looking, Kyle

Yeah, it's pretty smooth sailing until you get to the Osage. Then when you're dealing with the smaller communities down that way. Seems they're all exactly ten miles apart, there are a lot of slow downs and speed ups. And the two lane stinks! It's not the worst drive in the world as long as you're headed south in the AM and north in the PM. The commuter traffic into Jeff can be a real bear on that stretch of 63. Like I said, next time you get down this way let me know. I'll really show you how to miss and break off fish!

Yeah, I can imagine the drive was no fun at all. I've made pleanty of early morning runs to Montauk to catch the whistle. All fun and games until the drive home. Glad the waders worked out for you.

drew03cmc, I hope the fishing went well. Great to meet you. Stay in touch and we'll hit the stream soon. Kyle

Sorry about the slow pics Russ. I seem to have contracted quite a nasty bug over the last couple of days and have been crashed out. I'll get them up ASAP. Thanks, Kyle

Putting a feeler out here to see if anyone is interested in my PUP. It is a 1998 Coachmen 1060ST. Air conditioner, furnace, three-way fridge, crank down stabilizers, spare tire and carrier, self-storing awning. The tent material is in great shape. No mold. Stored indoors. It's in good shape with a little bit of wear, but everything works and all in all it looks good. I need it out of the garage. Asking price? $2800.00 I'll post a picture later. Thanks, Kyle

I'd go with the car stereo! They aren't really that expensive to replace anymore. Plus, I think you'd get more for your dollar. Just looking at catalogues, the marine versions cost more with less stuff. I replaced the one that came from the factory in my boat. I couldn't hardly pick up a radio station anywhere. The car version seems to have a better tuner, sounds better, and has a CD player. I store mine indoors, so it's not like it's on a lift somewhere exposed to the elements when not in use.

That would make a great anti-PETA add ! See, it doesn't hurt!

The SeaRay 580 was pleanty for me, but hey, what's two more feet? You might need the extra room.

NCAA football championship - who should go?
mcp633 replied to Quillback's topic in General Angling Discussion Archives
I'm with you 100% on the playoffs. They do it in DII, why not DI? There will always be controversy when you let a computer and a math formula pick the national champion. OSU v. Florida, give me a break! -
Terry, I use that everytime in a public restroom at the urinal. Always good for a laugh from someone. About 8 years ago, I did the Polar Bear Plunge at the Lake of the Ozarks for special olympics. Still haven't thawed out completely.

I have a pair of Cabelas neoprene waders that I don't use that I could let go for about $20.00 with no problem. Stockingfoot can't remember the size off of the top of my head, but I'm a pretty normal sized guy. 10.5 size shoe, 5'11" and about 190 lbs. Drop me an email if you're interested. kyle.horn@dps.mo.gov

Dan, Meramec Springs is open seven days. It was last year and I think they are doing it again this year.

I would like to encourage everyone to get out and vote today. There are too many topics on the ballot to stay home. No matter which way you lean, just go do it.

Pop-up travel trailers vs. bumper pull travel trailers
mcp633 replied to Rusty's topic in General Angling Discussion Archives
I myself am a big fan of the pop-up. I'm on my second one now. I've been in the thing at Montauk in a four day long terrential downpour, and never had so much as one drop of water leak into the thing! Believe me, we stumbled into the side and touched the canvas a few times! I've never had a problem with rain. Another thing is towability. I read you have a suburban, so it isn't as much of a concern for you, but I can tell you it comes in handy. I can pull mine (Coachmen Clipper 1060st) with either my Tribute or my wife's minivan, and I don't worry about her towing it down the road. It's like it's not even there for the most part. I would never turn her loose with a camping trailer, but it's nice when I'm stuck at work and she wants to go ahead without me. We also have smallish kids and they enjoy the experience of camping in the PUP. It's more like real camping to them. We camp with the in-laws several times a year and they have a ginormous fifth-wheel, but given the choice of where to sleep, the kids always stay in the PUP. I wouldn't have one without a furnace and A/C though. It's definitely worth the extra $$$ to have those things. And there's all kinds of extras and add-ons for them. You can make them as comfortable as you want. If you want more sleeping room than the travel trailers offer, you might want to look into what they call a hybrid. It's hard sided like a travel trailer, but the beds pull out and tent up like a PUP. That way, you're not taking up your living space with beds. Some friend of ours just got a hybrid last month. It sleeps eight, and has a slide-out and a shower and head. Just my two pennies. Kyle -
I have no fingernails left!!!! Wainright's hook is amazing. How 'bout Yaddy. I'm estatic. However, the 'Birds need to find their bats to have a chance against Detroit's rotation.

I believe I've also read somewhere the tailing loops and wind knots can be caused by different amounts of effort put into the back or forward cast. Any truth to that?
