  1. We are making a trip to Memphis in a couple of weeks and I am looking for a camping destination between Memphis and St. Louis preferably some trout fishing would be ideal.. any suggestions?
  2. Can you provide more info on the 20 gauge.. Is it a fixed barrel, if so what type. Also is it 2 3/4 only.
  3. hey fly2fish, could you share your speghetti sauce recipe..
  4. The state record is 27.10 caught in 2005. I think it is safe to say there are multiple browns over 30lbs in that river... Some that look like they could consume a small child..
  5. I am very interested in this topic as well..
  6. That is a giant fish.. there are more but I wonder if the fish would have survived if it was released..with the heat and Oxygen?? Powerbait seems like a natural choice for a giant brown trout
  7. That is really, really sad.. This guy should be put away as he was aware what he was doing was illegal and targetting a species that isn't easily sustainable...
  8. What kind of fish do you want to target?
  9. Start fishing at the spring.. Either spin or fly, using whichever flies/lures you are comfortable with and fish your way down.. wither to the end of the fly water or keep going in the bait area all the way to the end of the park... The whole park has good numbers of fish right now and the stream is nice and clean..
  10. I know thay can be pricey but a FoodSave Vacume Sealer is the best option out there.. The bags are relatively cheap if bought at Sams or Costco and it will pay for itself over time.. I have had mine for almost two years and have used it for everything from multiple deer, to all kinds of fish, to mushrooms and tonight I bought several bags of those chicken breasts at $5 for 3lbs and sealed them in meal size portions.. Its well worth it..
  11. Interesting.. Very interesting..
  12. The weather was a little unpleasant on Saturday evening with the hail and hard rain but it seemed to "excite" the fish.. it was hot and heavy for the last hour and a half but dang that rain was cold... I had some fun on Saturday with the 2wt.. some 15" plus fish gave a great fight.. It was "fun" to get "Montauked" a few times by other fishermen who thought moving to withing 5 feet of me while I caught fish would increase their odds of catching as well.... it didnt work.. I even had one ol' boy ask me what I was using.. twice.. Seems he had never heard of a red san juan worm..
  13. I went down this weekend and fished Friday, Saturday and Sunday.. My how things have changed since late in March.. many new holes, many holes scoured out.. but the stream looks really, really good.. Fishing was red hot.. Lots of fish in the upper fly water.. never fished below the long strech below the gauge hole.. Red San Juans, Chamois Worms, Chartruese Glo-Balls.. Pine Cones.. Black leaches... you get the idea.. try whatever you want.. everything was working.
  14. I am in.. been there this week..
  15. Thanks for the videos, they are great.. Sounds like fishing should be good this weekend.. Contemplating coming down or going to Bennett.. Looks like more rain is in the forcast..
  16. Any word on how the stream/river is at Montauk? Hope everyone is safe.
  17. Well said Pastor.. Getting a fish to bite is only part of the battle.. Landing big fish is tough.... especially when they run under or up into the hatchery outlet in the C&R..
  18. Center Punch, I think that is the same fish.. This one is different but from the same place...
  19. Natural and white double bunny.. no weight.
  20. Well.. I may have misquoted.. Thinking back.. I almost put my thumb in its mouth.. Then I reconsidered.. It was probably a male.. I was in shock for about 20 minutes there.
  21. That is amazing!!! The volume of water is tremendous!! It will be interesting to see what has changed.. hope everyone is safe..
  22. Here you go...
  23. No photos.. I had attracted a crowd along with the fact that she was looking very tired.. My worry was that she wouldnt make it.. I do have photos of the 31" that I caught about a half hour later.. I will get it up tonight or tomorrow...
  24. She is still there, and measured 33" this weekend.. She was roaming around the last hour of the day on Friday.. Caught her on a double bunny.. I found out that the fish will not only go under the hatchery dump out.. but up into the hatchery dump out and well up into it.. she took me all the way to my backing up in there.. beautiful fish, she was really stressed when I finally landed her.. took a few minutes to get her back to being active and then she went back under the logs..
  25. Nope.. No big fish in the c&r.. The conservations removed them and put them in the hatchery... nope, no big fish in there.. just little stockers..
