Every few months we have an Elk run over on Highway 65 South of the Buffalo River. They are in the fields between Bear Creek and Holder Creek grazing most every morning. This is the old race track area if anyone is familiar with Highway 65 South. (Searcy County, AR)
Has anyone tried smoking the pork butts for pulled pork on an electric smoker like Phil talks about using for his famous smoked chicken? Just wondering if anyone has experience or info on cooking on the electric smoker. Please chime in.
keep us posted on how the Alltel, usb card internet works out. We are also looking for something faster than dial up and that won't completely break the bank.
We get good alltel cell service here accept in the house. Ever since the wife up graded to the little bitty digital phones, you have to go outside the house most of the time to successfully use them.
Anyway anxious to hear how it does.
Congrats Terry. Great news. Looks like you can keep those roots down in Nixa. Sounds like you will be working and miss the Catholic Point picnic. I had that good old home made u-know what tonight. May have to try to pick you up some next time I head North.
Greetings Mrs. Redbeard and welcome to the forum.
Nice to now have a contact along the Niangua. I like to make it up that way from North Arkansas when ever I get a chance. It is a real great float stream.

Yes, everything is homemade and just can't be beat. OH, did I forget to mention I brought a bucket of sausage home with me. Wish I had a chance to get some to you.
Terry,
Been thinking of you. Went down to Catholic Point yesterday afternoon to their Spring Dinner. Ate my fill of you guessed it, that good home made Italian sausage. O. K. I had some for you too since you didn't make it. Everything was excellent as always.
Did you make sowbug? I failed to get up that way.
Hey Dano,
Been hearing them advertise Roosters BBQ in Harrison, on the radio a lot lately. Do you have any reviews on it? I know Bodacious is great, but just thought this might be worth trying. Where do you hit Gobblin Drive at?
I just looked at some old postings and see that Roosters is on Capps Road. Is that the same as Gobblin Drive?
Well this morning at 4:30 here in Botkinburg we had 10 inches on the ground and still snowing. When it get good daylight I will get out and feed and get some new measurements.
Dano,
What are you all getting in Harrison tonight. Calling for 8 to 12 inches here. We already have 6 inches on the ground and still coming down hard. All our North facing ground still had about 2 inches from Tuesdays snow.
Dano
I'm 60 miles south of you in Botkinburg and we got 6 inches. We had 2 hours worth of sleet on the ground before it started snowing.
Noon news showed pictures from the Russellville area of people holding rurlers in the snow at the 12 inch mark.
Makes me glad now we opted for the just Stay At Home last night. Was hoping to meet all today but due to illness in the family will be spending NYD here at home. Happy New Years to all.
