  1. Every few months we have an Elk run over on Highway 65 South of the Buffalo River. They are in the fields between Bear Creek and Holder Creek grazing most every morning. This is the old race track area if anyone is familiar with Highway 65 South. (Searcy County, AR)
  2. Just checking in. Hello all,

    Smoked Pulled Pork

Has anyone tried smoking the pork butts for pulled pork on an electric smoker like Phil talks about using for his famous smoked chicken? Just wondering if anyone has experience or info on cooking on the electric smoker. Please chime in.
  4. keep us posted on how the Alltel, usb card internet works out. We are also looking for something faster than dial up and that won't completely break the bank. We get good alltel cell service here accept in the house. Ever since the wife up graded to the little bitty digital phones, you have to go outside the house most of the time to successfully use them. Anyway anxious to hear how it does.
  5. They are outfitters and canoe rental IF memory serves me right.
  6. Congrats Terry. Great news. Looks like you can keep those roots down in Nixa. Sounds like you will be working and miss the Catholic Point picnic. I had that good old home made u-know what tonight. May have to try to pick you up some next time I head North.
  7. Greetings Mrs. Redbeard and welcome to the forum. Nice to now have a contact along the Niangua. I like to make it up that way from North Arkansas when ever I get a chance. It is a real great float stream. Catfish
  8. Yes, everything is homemade and just can't be beat. OH, did I forget to mention I brought a bucket of sausage home with me. Wish I had a chance to get some to you.
  9. Terry, Been thinking of you. Went down to Catholic Point yesterday afternoon to their Spring Dinner. Ate my fill of you guessed it, that good home made Italian sausage. O. K. I had some for you too since you didn't make it. Everything was excellent as always. Did you make sowbug? I failed to get up that way.

    Roosters Bbq

Hey Dano, Been hearing them advertise Roosters BBQ in Harrison, on the radio a lot lately. Do you have any reviews on it? I know Bodacious is great, but just thought this might be worth trying. Where do you hit Gobblin Drive at? I just looked at some old postings and see that Roosters is on Capps Road. Is that the same as Gobblin Drive?
  11. Well at 7:oo am Botkinburg has 12 inches of snow on the ground and still coming down. Anyone else getting anything this morning?
  12. Well this morning at 4:30 here in Botkinburg we had 10 inches on the ground and still snowing. When it get good daylight I will get out and feed and get some new measurements.
  13. Dano, What are you all getting in Harrison tonight. Calling for 8 to 12 inches here. We already have 6 inches on the ground and still coming down hard. All our North facing ground still had about 2 inches from Tuesdays snow.
  14. Dano I'm 60 miles south of you in Botkinburg and we got 6 inches. We had 2 hours worth of sleet on the ground before it started snowing. Noon news showed pictures from the Russellville area of people holding rurlers in the snow at the 12 inch mark.
  15. Makes me glad now we opted for the just Stay At Home last night. Was hoping to meet all today but due to illness in the family will be spending NYD here at home. Happy New Years to all.
  16. Dano, I finally got to try Bodacious BBQ Friday. Wife had a meeting in Harrison so I tagged along and took in some of the Festival around the court square. It was excellent. I will be back for more. My wife liked it a lot better than K T's at Gassville. We had the pork sandwichs(BIG) I believe biggest I was ever served. Can't wait to try some of his other stuff.
  17. Great report. Looking forward to the pictures. Would love to see Alaska some day.
  18. That is great news Terry. I know you were not looking forward to a move. Glad to hear things are starting to take shape and work out for you. Looking forward to meeting you one of these days at an event or at Taney. Haven't been up in a while and am looking forward to wetting a line in Taney hopefully before to long.

    BBQ

Anyone have a report on K.T.'s BBQ in Gassville, AR. I heard it had changed owners. Just wondering how it may be holding up. It was one of my favorite stops in White River Country. Just haven't had the chance to get in and check it out lately since I got the news.
  20. Yea, Dano I think I hit it sometime during that period when it was down. I guess I was lucky that I missed it during that time. I have been in a couple times in the past 6 months and it seemed pretty good. How about some good BBQ in Harrison? I used to eat at Circle J's once in a while several years ago but seems they disappeared.

    BBQ

I'm familiar with most of these and have tried them but where is Danna's and what is the menu?
  22. Cadron Creek south of Harrison is the same style as Bee Branch. I have tried them twice and it just didn't seem like the quality of the food was as good as Bee Branch. Just my opinion. I have always found good catfish at Catfish Wharf on the North side of Harrison.
  23. Congratulation Terry, and to the rest of your family. A truly special time. Great that everyone is doing fine.
  24. Glad you made it. Sounds like an old home reunion for you. Guess our times didn't over lap much. We were leaving to get back around the time you all were arriving I guess. It was a good event.
  25. I might have missed it if you hadn't mentioned it in your post about the night fishing on Taney, where you said you were heading South to Arkansas. My Dad also turned 80 this year. We celebrated my Mothers 74th birthday today. They are able to still stay at home but their health is very bad and they get lots of help from my wife and I and the home health nurses. We just got back from the rodeo at Dennard. They hold one every Monday night on top of the hill out behind the Dennard County Store. My daughter is into everything horses. Has a show lined up in Miss. this weekend and a Clinton Anderson clinic. Seems I remember you mentioning your daughter likes the barrels. You wouldn't happen to know the date of the Bazaar at St. Elizabeths or have a contact that does would you. Have been trying to find the date for it but haven't had any luck yet. I was at St. Vincents early, in first group in to eat. We were having company (Kids) here at the house later that evening so we didn't get to stay very long. It hadn't totally cranked up good at all the booths.
