  1. Go to sportsmans factory outlet on bennett and get megabass. fin and feather have megabass for $27+ where they are 24.99 at sportsmans and 10% off
  2. treble hook is considered 1 hook with 3 points
  3. Everytime I hear someone say this levels the playing field I can't help but think about the guys that have spent countless hours on the water learning how to fish and putting there time in. I'm a salesmen and have busted my a$$ to get to where I am and would be very aggitated if some new guy came in and started at my level without putting the hard work in to move up
  4. Of course it's two baits and If i'm against the A-rig i kinda have to be against a double fluke....i've never thrown it so no opinions on it. I will say that this rig has done a lot for fishing and made the "swimbait" companies busier than hell right now trying to keep up with demand, i've never seen anything like it. If it's gonna be allowed at least it's easy to decide what baits to bring to tournaments, really gonna cut down on tackle in the boat, hell i'll go faster too
  5. is it one line tie and one lure?
  6. put one bait and four blades around it and yes, it's similar. An alabama rig is like a double bladed buzzbait? one bait, multiple blades.... i don't think so. blades are more for attraction, vibration and flash. Like i said earlier, your either for it or against it. I will be the first to throw it when I go out with a family member or take someone fishing but I don't believe it belongs in tournaments. fish can become conditioned to a single bait and thus it takes skill and luck to get fish to bite. How many times has a fish in our ozark lakes ran thru a school of baitfish and felt the steel of a hook?
  7. After reading all the comments, the conclusion i'm coming to is that the Alabama rig levels the playing field? Why doesn't every sport start leveling the playing field? for example lets make the hoop in basketball larger or even put 2 or 3 goals up to pick which one to shoot at? I am a tournament fishermen and put alot of work in to try and compete against some of the big names in the ozarks and i am against it all together. I do hope one day it is outlawed from competition. I watched the FLW where it had it's coming out party and to see guys like Brian Thrift or Jay Yelas say, "this is crazy.....all you have to do is throw it out and reel it in....the hardest part being throwing it out there" there will always be people for it and people against it trying to persuade other people there way, that's just part of it, i just happen to be on the side against it
  8. I was at a tournment on Pomme De Terre lake a week ago and the warmest water I found was 39.6. Winning weight was 28+, then 26, 22. So i would say the A-rig is working in colder water
  9. +1 on the ban for tournaments, I've kept my mouth shut on this topic while all this has been going on but I'm all for a tournament ban. I've seen first hand some of the weights that have been coming in during some of these winter tournaments and it just makes me laugh. I'm not looking forward to fishing some of the anglers in action or Joe Bass tournaments and seeing 40-50 boats and everyone throwing the same lure. I just dont see a skill set for casting and winding a rig in that a fish just can't help but commit too. Maybe I'm just a disgruntled fishermen and my opinion doesn't really matter but i don't have a problem throwing the a-rig for recreation. As far as tournaments...........one line, one lure
  10. The cedar ridge ramp is closed, the one a little farther west, near the rock island, correct me if i'm wrong is Bona. It is open
  11. Had the opportunity to fish w/ Bill last week on a guide trip and the man is in a class of his own. I fish Table Rock quite a bit already but learned alot of new things from Mr. Babler and caught some good fish as well. Anyone that has an opportunity to go fish w/ him, I highly recommend it. Thanks Bill
  12. Thanks for the report Bill, appreciate all the info like usual
  13. With all this rain that we have coming this weekend, and hopefully a 50+ degree rain, is that gonna turn the fish on up the river? With all the dirty runoff that should be coming in from the back of pockets, it's got me itching to come down and throw a wiggle wart and squarebill. Just felt like venting this am. Sitting at work and watched a bunch of boats headed to the lake this am...............

  15. Well, I went to Bass Pro last night an unfortunately they don't carry the "Clarus" model rod anymore so I was unable to switch it out. He said it would have been no problem if they would of had that model. I did go ahead and switch out my Abu Garcia Veritas rod. I busted the insert out of the end eye last week and the gentlemen seen the rod and within 5 minutes he handed me a new one and told me to have a good day. I was impressed bc I have had some bad experiences at BP in the years I've been there.
  16. I'm actually going to Bass Pro tonight bc I have recently broken a Shimano Clarus. When I called Bass Pro and told them my story and since they were an authorized dealer of Shimano Rods, they told me to just bring it in and they would take care of sending it back to Shimano and would do an even "swap out" if they had the rod in stock. I'll let ya'll know how it goes
  17. What are the hours to this tournament and how many fish? Thanks for the info

  24. Me and one of my buddies went down to the Iron Bridge on the 17th hoping that the nice weather would help out the fishing. fished from 6pm till about 9pm. Caught no whites but did catch some nice crappie. seen a lot of whites busting the surface and seen some small males caught. we were in a little boat fished down towards aldrich but really have no idea where the whites are? little strange because this time last year they were jumping in the boat
  25. Any word on whats going around in the Cricket to Yocum area? Whites? Crappie?
