  1. Also there has been 2 flood gates open most of the weekend for a 7 unit or 8 unit water flow.
  2. I also should have laid a Mt Dew can or dollar bill beside it. I will take another pic before I skin it with such. I bet its munched a few rainbows they put in the lake!
  3. Crap now Binks beat me to it. even bigger when you have to lift it and put it in the freezer.
  4. Up that to 51 pounds, huge pig with a belly! Pics in a few days, when I have time to upload.
  5. Drum are excellent eating. Large boneless fillets.
  6. Forensic Animal Re-creationist
  7. While the pH is important its not the most important factor. Try a microscope and look at the effects of different acids on skin. even when adjusted to the same pH (particles of Hydrogen) some acids have more harsh effects than others. Citric acid verse boric acid, boric acid use to a eye wash. formic acid, acetic acid, and so on. the harshness of the acid and the carrier. Anyway at that point the SS Captain should be charged with assault.
  8. Its not a lie, you need to read the story in the Sidney AU. paper. What the Sea Shepard is doing is at lest vandalism. You better think long and hard before backing any ANTI HUNTING AND FISHING activist. eee gads looks like you are becoming a bunny hugger. I will never back any anti regardless of what they are defending. I am about to do what Lilly warns me about. to show you. its the strength of the acid that matters. C4H8O2, 4.82pH Now this is the stuff Sea Shepherd is using. CH13NO2 This is dissolved in 75% alcohol It can be used for fertilizer. But when the SS uses the mix with alcohol. its highly flammable. I got this info from a sight that supports the SS crap.
  9. Dont waste your time with the stuff in spray . its not going to last. Call Ozarkwoods in Harrison AR and get some of the two part foam they sell. It is urethane and petroleum products will not harm it. mixes one part to one part and foams well. 1 870 743-6555 (In the Harrison, AR area) 1 800 467-0369 More than enough to fill your boat. A gallon kit is somewhere around 50 bucks.
  10. Take it to Flippin and have Ranger fix it.

  12. Ron Teter gave a excellent talk on different methods to catch stripers. Ron covered, the year and even gave locations where he has caught fish, lure presentations etc. gear. good seminar. You should have been there!!
  13. Go to the bluffs, with a bubble gum pink sinking jerk bait ans slowly just make it move. Just roll. We caught some smallies this way last week.
  14. Milk???? I think you meant to say Milt.
  15. I lived in Batesville for several years. Below lock 1. you will find largemouth, and kentucky bass, crappie, even some large very large stripers lots of catfish. Between 1 and 2, there is an island that has produced some huge walleye one was 19lbs 1 ounce for a preacher in Searcy. Lots of nice bluegill too. Above 2 and 3 you will find smallmouths. Trout are iffy but maybe be ok that early in the year, but if you want trout go up to Mt View and up river. But crappie are often over looked in the river. Depths run about 15 feet to a depth of 30-35 near the dams, we did some rescue/recovery dive training some years back.
  16. A few smaller stripers being picked up on top waters, before daylight. Shad on side planners have produced a couple nice stripers in the teens. Stripers are full of eggs and some are making their spawning runs. The lakes license does not apply in the upper reaches near Theodsia, you will need a MO. license if you fish there. These were forwarded to me. I fished the same area down by the dam last night. Water temp is up a bit at 51 degrees. I had two misses and one in the boat that weighed 9lbs on a stick bait. The picture shows how fat or full of eggs they are. The quality of the pictures after dark are not the best. Dave I went to the area down by the dam last evening. I started fishing around 1845 and quit around 2130. I ended up catching three female Stripers, all full of eggs and around ten pounds. All three released to fight another day/night. It is great fun when they strike the Rogue in total darkness. There is no guessing about what you have. Water temp in that area was 45 and there were a lot of arches on the locator. That was my first night outing this year but not my last. Dave
  17. Picked up some small whites and a couple nice sows in the back of Jimmie Creek on white rooster tails, lots of short bass. Crank baits on the points in 12-15 of water on light line, in shad color we picked up four largemouth in the 5 pound range and one point thats shallow we caught 11 largemouth in a row. Lots of fish four nice ones. water temp is 47F.
  18. You can easily keep one alive in a aquarium. Have done so. But never put a small smallmouth in there with it. You will come home to a golfball sized lump in the small jaws belly and tail hanging out of his mouth and no sculpin.
  19. Palomino trout is more correct. http://images.google.com/images?q=palomino%20Trout&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi http://images.google.com/images?q=golden%20trout&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi
  20. Iwo Jima is under the control of the Japanese Military, it is used for training too. the Japanese government normally give permission when training is not occurring, but they have the right to refuse visits. Maybe this is whats happening. There was a story about two years ago about the Japanese gov. halting all visits to Iwo.
  21. Less not forget the Ranger who shot a goat that was harassing some horses. Where is the Innocent until proven guilty. Way to many people have convicted the man and dog of running deer. a 10 inch beagle is a small very small dog, dont think it could harass a deer. I am not a dog lover by any means but I think it was wrong of the ranger. I live close to the river and have a large portion of my life and have seen the Ranger Harass a lot of locals over the years. This action was wrong in many ways, maybe on both sides. Sad no one knows both sides.
  22. Was this the same idiot that show goat? This was a small beagle type of dog, with a collar and owners name. Sad part is the ranger is going to be transferred soon for his safety. The rangers have been very very pushy this past year to locals, bordering on harassment.
  23. No effect on the largemouth bass. even a 40 pound or larger striper would have trouble eating a bass over 3 lbs. The only time stripers are close to the same habitat is the spawning run. Lots of good bass coat even year in Norfork!! and its loaded with stripers.
  24. Scuff the area with 36 or even 24 grit. Laminate both sides with polyester resin.. Now understand the resin you buy at walmart has wax in it so it is not sticky after it cures... So you need to wash the area with acetone first, cut out major damage, then sand or grind, clean again with acetone. Lay up the hole allow to cure, sand again and do another coat of matt. then repeat on the top side.
  25. Was this before or after the sea Shepard crew threw acid in the face of the Japanese? I see what the Sea Sheperd crew doing a kin to PIRACY in their attacks.
