  1. They should be paying him to take people out ot kill the hogs.
  2. My River boat is a 22" Monarch,, 72 year model. We repainted it three years ago, put seats in it and have used and used it. Year ago Last Dec. we put a new 15HP Merc onit, its not fancy but get the job done. Last trip out I managed to knock some rivets out. Replaced the rivets and epoxied over them, now grinding the paint off to put an Air Boat epoxy on the bottom. Will do some other things while its down then it should be ready for another year or so. Lake boat is a 2000 Lowe with 90 Hp 2 stroke Johnson it set for four years before we got it and has had lots of things replacedbilge pump, live well pump, batteries, wire in a plug for spot light in front. Added a front fish finder. Scrubbed and scrubbed to get the calcium off where it set in the dock unused fpr two years, decal have washed off. Will repaint it this summer and next year new carpet. Maybe up grade t a better sonar.
  3. Iknow there is more pressure on the resource now. but siince I was a kid the size of bass has dropped greatly. even when the length limits first went nto effect since the, Honestly not much has changed. We fished the past Sat, Sun. and after the boats slowed down and lef tthe lake fishing picked up and we could have kept a ton of 15 inch fish. Thats not any better that back in the 1970's. Maybe taking all the small bass out of the lake would help? Slot limit???
  4. The hooks are fine and the price is good. Gravel and chunk rocks, well anywhere the wart can bounce the bottom is fine.
  5. Sweden falls or Eden Falls? I know where Eden falls is in Newton county.
  6. Plus they failed to mention the MERCURY in the bulbs.
  7. For repairs until May 14, 2009
  8. So thats why they like to eat Israely carp, the ones with partical scales too.
  9. Don't get like the musky people claim to be!!!! Heres a thought, If I was paying a guide and caught a nice fish I wanted to keep and he threw it back, I would probably toss his butt in the drink with the fish. Rangerman has a great point, I know someone who is going around the day after bass toruneyments and picking up the dead fish. He has offered them to the State to prove the fish die, but of course money talks and they dont seem to wnat to hear the truth. There are some great quailty reproduction fish available now days and there are some repros that are junk. Then there is the artist who can paint a good repro. Then there is the person who is hunting for cheap taxidermy work. Cheap and taxidermy work never go hand in hand. Cheap is normally inexperienced!!!!! At any rate anyone have a couple nice 4 to 5 lb kentuckys to spare I need a couple to mold.
  10. I dropped a prop off at Dyna prop and they had it ready in two days and that was last spring. They have lots of stock props on hand.

  13. 1200 gallons of water to grow a bushel of corn. Not counting fuel cost. then another 6 to distillit. there is no savings.
  14. Stetsons is great and have a nice dock. http://www.stetsons-resort.com/ Even a lot of river front for bank fishing. Ask for Tony or Brenda.
  15. I would have said nope Sunday is fine.
  16. 6 or 8 # test line will be fine on Taney. Thats what we use and have for years since the early 1970's You can troll Gold and black CD-5 rapalas and catch fish even cast them, Rogues work fine. you can always carolina rig with power bait. use a 6 eagle claw crappie hook abd three power baits with twp red gulp eggs 1/8th ounce sinker, 18 inch leader. We use Vanish Gold Flourocrabon, you can feel the lightest strike with a good rod.
  17. Forgot about one time having a 14 ft fjon boat with a 7.5hp clinton outboard motor (Wards) two people we were able to run taney to the dam, took a while but we did it. caught a lot of fish from that boat and motor.
  18. Rush is the last place to put in or take out on the Buffalo. the take will be Buffalo City. Buffalo City is accessed from HWY 62/412 between Gassville and Mt Home. As mentioned Rileys would be safe for the vehicle. I also agree on the river stage. I have seen it easy to paddle up stream and if there are more than 3 generators on it will become a bit harder. There is a water pool at B City which backs up the water well. But you still have to get across the mouth of Buffalo and the first 75 yards of the white. Water temps up river are 48F today at Carver the cookl nights has dropped river temp a bit.
  19. Wife and I hit the lake at about 10:00am Saturday April 4. we fished till about 5:30pm and caught a lot of whites, over 70 with only one female. Several short spotted bass, a couple of largemouth bass, she caught a nice crappie and I caught some short walleye. She used a diving crank bait, shad colored and I used a shad colored rattle trap. Wind was terrible, sun was nice we caught a lot of fish but we worked for them. Water temp was 54F up in the shallow area down to 45F in the deep end closer to the dam. Water in the shallow was cloudy and then closer to the dam it cleared to about 7 feet,
  20. Gotta tell yea about a canoe trip. Marshal AR use to sponser a canoe race from Gilbert to Buffalo point. A couple years out of high school a friend and I decided to enter it. I knew one of the outfitters at Pruitt and he loaned us a brand new aluminum canoe. I took it home and buffed the bottom, waxed it looked like a mirror!!! Man it was like it was chrome plated!!!!!! We entered that Saturday AM. had the 6" paddles the rules called for, we were the only people with 6" paddles everyone else had wide blades really wide blades. KY3 was there to cover the take off, we did and on the forth stroke my buddy switched side on threem that canoe jumped out from under us so fricken quickly it would make your head spin. We made the trip in 3 hours and 54 minutes from Gilbert to Buffalo Point and we finished next to last!!!!! Sunburned, blistered and sore!!!! But we finished!!!! Never again did we or I canoe race. But yes wax the bottom of any boat and its going to slide thru the water. But really RoyalX is great!!!!
