Thanks, it took about 12 hours. most of it painting by hand. I use mostly Polytranspar lacquer then some acyrilics and then some powders. The powders are applied soemtimes three times with three different colors to get the tone right. I do lots of different things with the paints, making many of then semi transparent for layering the paint.

The one without a keel are for whitewatter, so you can slide them sideways in the water easier. I have floated in several of the Buffalo Canoes and like the fact they slide over the rocks, whay better than the aluminum in the yard! http://www.buffalocanoes.com/ The Buffalo canoes will slide over rocks in water where fiberglass has to be carried, makes for a way better time ont he water. Most of the rentals around here are the Royalex material and they do take a beating a hard beating!!! Remember they are rentals.

Ethanol In Gas
taxidermist replied to dave potts's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Hell It worked fopr me and anyone with a lick of sense will of course be carefull. Any yes it remove almost all the fuel. 25 psi is not much and well if the system could not take 25 psi, they there are other problem that certainly would need to be repaired. As for syphoning the old fashioned w3ay, well it just did not work with this boat. I looked for a pump that could be used with a drill and nothing was certified for gasoline everything that I found was water only. Even hooked a hose onto the fuel line and tried to get the syphon started with the primer bulb, it did not work either. I have had a mechainc that tunes a Top Fuel car look at the plugs and he said the blistered ceranics happens when the alcohol causes the heat range to go beyond the plugs design. If it had been one plug then it could have been a manufactor problem but not on all four. Anyway use either premium fuel fromt he pumps or buy your fuel at the marina. -
Ethanol In Gas

Well it did work or I would not have posted it. and yes the entonal caused the plugs to run to lean for the heat range and fried the electrode. Appying 25 psi to the fuel in now way makes it dangerous, you better find some proof!! Not old wifes tails. Beside if pressurized E-1 fuel were dangerous, then your fuel injected car or truck is nothing more than a bomb waiting for ignition. Its not the alch left in the carbs, this motor is hard to start on ethonal period many two stroke will not run on e based fuel or e blended fuel. -
Questions About Trophy Bass Management
taxidermist replied to OzarkFishman's topic in General Angling Discussion
pic one and pic four show bass that are starved, the large head is an indicator for bass not having enough food. I would had fathead minnows and remove the bass under 3 pounds. Maybe even pure bred bluegill. I would never add greeneard sunfish or even red eared. But lots of minnows. I have a small pond and after three years the catfish are still hungry, large head small body. Had a good spawn on fathead mionnows last year but still added 10 pouns plus 8 breeder goldfish, I figure the F-1 Bluegill hybreds in the pond will eat the little goldfish and a few of the minnows, but over all maybe balance it out. My pond would support maybe three bass. -
25 would probably be to big. I had a 25 yam. on a 22 X 32 river jon and it was dangerous fast!!! Icuurently run a 15HP merc 4 stroke on it and its great, easy very easy on gas still pretty fast. If you are going to buy a new motor, Arts In Little Rock has some new 2 stroke Yam. because of the weight I certainly would look hard at the two strokes!!! About 75 lbs lighter on the 25 hp. But another thing is if you can buy at BPS, I did I did not have to pay sales tax on my motor last year.

Ethanol In Gas
taxidermist replied to dave potts's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
USE PREMIUM GAS. There is another post on this from last year somewhere here. Anyway I was talking to a fellow at the bulk plant in Little Rock, where many truck fill to haul fuel into North Arkansas. He said that almost all the low grade 87 Oct. has some ethonal in it. Some distributors request no ethonal, but at this time The Fina Distrib. in Harrison is the only one who refuse any ethonal. He also said none of the PREMIUM has ehtonal in it. Ethonal does absorb moisture!!! Nothing will keep that from happening. My Bass boat suffered the crap too. Built in gas tank, hum how to get the ethonal blend out? Cut your fuel ine near the motor, point the boat up hill, tak e air compressor with a long nozzle and insert into the fuel filler spout, use a flat tip screw driver and stuff a terry cloth towel into the filler enck around the air nozzle. about 35 psi air pressure and some time will pump out all the old fuel. Connect the the fuel lines, and fill with PREMIUM SHELL GAS, and a can of SEAFOAM. Change the spark plugs, for some reason the ethonal ruins the plugs and causes a misfire. You may need a can of ether to keep the motor running until the fresh fuel is running the motor, then take it for a spin down the lake for about 60 minutes and 1/2 throttle. This will allow the SEAFOAM to do its job!!! This is eactly what I did today!!! MARCH 30, 2009!!!!!!!!!! Now my 90Hp Johnson starts first crank, I fished over a mile of bank and just touched the key and the motor started!!! Repeated this several more times and now we are ready to chase fish on the lake. JOhn -
What sucks is the leg and Demcorat new paper owners have bithced for years about the AGFC buying the lands, these were always for the public to use to insure a place to hunt. Now that the AGFC has invested a lot of money and much of it is FEDERAL Pittman Robertson, Dingell Johnson tax return, which the state leg has tried many times to HIGHJACK. The state thinks the money from gas/oil leases should go into the general funds. Why, just to they will give it to another crackwhore for another bastard child!!! The reason the AGFC was formed was to stop the legs. from screwing everything up and now look a bit of greed. I have called all the local reps and promised to campain hard against them if they continue to try to screw the AFGC over the gas and oil leases money.
-
It is not the best trout lake in the world. Having lived in Germany and fished a lot I can tell you there are better lakes for trout, bows and browns.
-
Bad idea, the state wants the money from the oil leases an wildlife managment areas. Problem is the land was abought with Pittman Ropbertson, dingle/johnson funds and that makes the AGFC lands and money untouchable by the rest of the state.

Possibly the reason its Fed $$$ is the dams and water are Fed Controled. Plus the written agreement that the Feds would replace the warm water fishery with a cold water fishery once the dams were in working order. Then you do have the tremdous amount of $$$ brought in by the trout fishery, I have a sheet fromt he USFW with the amount of money spent in each area on trout fishing. Angler Magazine in Mt Home also has the sheet. its a lot of money from people all over the USA thats spent here. On the other hand many commercial accounts have canceled trout trip this year with local guides, so the fishing should really improve or maybe its the catching.

Deep we crawfish by Rebel work well. Also helps to pick up walleye. I troll the gravel banks this time of year.

AGFC stocks over 200,000 rainbows per year in Bull. In years past Browns were stocked along with Lakers! I have caught a lot of bows in Bear Creek and around Tucker Hollow, we used to setup lights below Peel and catch lots of 22-24inch bows. They were always bright soft scaled fish little color.

Almost any shop that cuts vinyl letters can do them. in Mt HOme Dijohn signs, in Harrison Gary's signs and tons of other shops that do vinyl lettering. just look in the phone book. -
My Friend Buster is a civilian working for the military. lucky guy been to Iraq, Afghanistan and is not allowed to carry a weapon. Anyway we have not fished together since 1992. Finally he is about 5 hours away and we can fish together again. Last night we hit Ranchette and did pretty darn good average sized fish. I caught a couple short browns, last years keepers. He had one short brown. Lots of Bows and he caught a cutthroat. Water was pretty good, all on my White River favorite plug. Today we hit Whitehole ran to the C&R area and floated down past the narrows, did pretty good on bow, and several smallish browns and we finally had a camera for a couple picks. Floated almost 8 hours and the water was perfect. light wind slowed our drift. Plus had a couple Brookies, mean little sob's hit a #5 Bluefox spinner. We did keep enough to smoke a few and dinner tomorrow night. Dont look below if you dont want to see fish thats for dinner! Saturdays trips Sundays breakfast. Smoked trout All told Saturday was a great fishing day. we caught over 100 fish in eight hours. We quit counting at 100. Lower water surely had something to do with it.

Suspending rogues above the Island in Bear Creek to Lowery, we caught a lot of short fish last night, males full of milt.

30 inch rainbow caught by 10 year old boy.

The regulation is actually an old reg. I can remember when it was illegal to fish around docks. Matter of fact my only ticket from a game warden was for just that fishing next to a public dock cost $25.00 but that was a lot of money to a 14 year old boy. I view fishing next to docks like someone hunting in my front yard, not something I would do nor something I want anyone else to do. Grandad had a boat house on Bull Shoals lake up in Bear Creek many years ago "Matilda" we always had problems with people fisning aroudn it, even in the middle of the night while we were sleeping. Another thing about the socalled "NEW" law with theft at an all time high, its part of the boat owners with stalled boat requesting help in control theft.
-
I find water temp is not the factor as long as the water has been stable a few days. Small white road runner bounced down the top end of the shoals into the deeper water, one of my best trips was in Feb a few years back and the temp of the air had been around 30F for several days. Same for Cecil creek year before last.
