  1. Registration of guns is where I become an renegade. I will never reg my guns its no ones business what I have or where I keep them. What kind they are. I retired from the US ARMY, never been charged with a crime other than traffic violations. thats all thats needed to know. I did the paper work when I bought the darn things, Thats all the gov. needs to know. I do believe in a reciprocal concealed Carry permit, like our state drivers license is good in all 50 states, so should the Conceal Carry Permit. I also think state laws over step the bounds when it comes to selling guns, Why since I am a citizen in good standing no be able to buy a gun at any legal place in any state? only certain states allow this, thats wrong with the FEDERAL call in system. By having registration that would turn a lot of us into criminals, because many of us will never. Even with Justices making laws from the bench. Well I have felt many times after reading some of the laws they are making, they are ENEMIES OF THE CONSTITUTION. America has been so dumbed up by the liberal Universities, Right in Springfield MO you have college professors telling students that the Holocaust never happened, that there where no tortures by the Nazis of American POWS in WW II. Yet these Professors are allowed to keep on teaching their lies. This leads to the beliefs the young law makers think they should enforce on all Americans, like gun control. I bet Obama if he chooses Hillary, will not last 2 years in office. Someone will do the a thing to him. I do really think Hillary and Bill are the most dangerous people to have in the WHITE HOUSE or even near it. Hillary wants the WH badly and I think she and Bill will stop at nothing to get back in there.
  2. We hit the lake last night and about 7:30pm the stripers started busting the shad. We caught 7 keepers releasing all but one. Stripers just dont do well after a fight. The most effective lure was a spoon skittered across the top of the water. Wife lost one in the 20 lb range at the boat, light line 8#. We changed to Rooster tails after the stripers quit and caught a load of White bass. This Am the stripers and whites were slow only caught two sport stripers. So we started draggin a Rebel Crawdad over the top of the flooded buck brush caught several smallies and four walleye three were short one was really nice, but it broke off at the boat. Lesson learned dont forget the dadgummed net!! For the walleye make sure you are draggin a shallow running Rebel Crawdad in green color over the points with flooded green briars on the outside and inside of the points.
  3. Its a darn sad fact when 4 of the judges vote against he Constitution. You guys bust me in the chops over my spelling, when its those 4 judges you should be writing about and to explaining how and why the comma is used. One of the 4 said the commas were in the wrong places. Now how and they hell does a judge come up with that? Telling the people who wrote the Constitution they did not know english!!! We must make our leader appoint judges that can read the Constitution and not make laws from the bench. We the PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER!
  4. I fish the river a lot. Spin fishing, what do you want to know? I don't know a much but manage to catch some fish. Bows and browns. We use 8# Vanish line, its just that it Vanishes in the water. If you are going to bait fish, use a #4 Eagle Claw Crappie hook, it has a bend in it and the hook turns when you set the hook and 98% of the time you will hook the fish in the lower jaw. Put four or five Power Eggs on, it stops the gut hooking. Also Carolina rig it with a swivel and a 1/16 ox bullet weight. We use a short leader about 16 inches max. In-line spinners work great in colors fluorescent orange, neon green and white, I like the ones with brass blades Rapalas in CD-3 , CD-5 work well in Gold and Black, Blue and silver. Even huge Rouges. Big fish hit big lures. Lots of water to cover, look for rocks, I like big rocks for big fish. you don't carch as many but you better fish.
  5. As for matching the hatch, when you start looking at bugs you will see like bass or trout they are in different colors, each one is individual, they will have somethings in common but close inspection really shows lots of color variation. The best match I have found is to paint like a soft shelled bug. If fishing creeks wear some white tennis shoes in the creek some reason??? Soft shells dads love them and will come to them.
  6. Did the lake trout in BS work out, or did they fizzle? How about the brownies? The lakers did well but the commison says no to stocking more, they of course never spawned. Most of the pople did not know what they had. Even my dad thought filleting a 10 pound trout was great until I told him it had been a laker. [b} the Current Missouri state record Brown is from Taneycomo and I have access to 4 replicas of the fish. At this time there is one out of the mold and the one master copy 27 lb oz, Male here the fish pic. I dont know which fish it is, I do know this was slow in getting molded due to conflicts and my frined did the mold and offered me four of them. Less than 2 oz difference between the two fish?? So I dont know and they both being males. Its up to you to say which one it is, lol. I thought I would offer them here first. http://www.midmotu.org/articles/Article_081805.htm http://www.midmotu.org/newsletters/2005/No...0Nov%2005_b.htm
  7. You know they could stock 100 tiger musky, with tags 1-100 and they be recorded everytime they are caught with a total C&R on them to see what and where they go, this would make tracking easier and see if they do well without the chance of hurting the money maker trout. Oh By the way I have access to the record Brown replica from Taneycomo if anyone wants one. Yea somethings are just special and its in limited production
  8. Bull Shoals has its own trout population not even related to anything going over Powersite. Yea, in case y'all dont know thats why the AGFC will not stock stripers in Bull. Every year they stock 10's of thousands of rainbow trout fromthe water born pens at Pot shoals area in Marion County. AGFC commision also has two rearing ponds for Walleye. both near Lead Hill AR. one on east Sugarloaf and a new one completed inthe last 2 years on West Sugar loaf. The newer one is where I use to duck hunt. Just take the first road to the left leaving Leadhill on HWY 7 to see this pond. The AFGC has also stocked Browns and LAKERS yes thats lake trout in BULL, Most of the bows will be caught out and some do make it several years, but are caught on bait under the lights in deeper water, Many around the dam. As for the rumor of Powersite dam being removed, its all it is just a rumor not in the next few years anyway.
  9. We did some work at the studio before we headed out mid-morning. Maybe getting uplater than expected had something to do with this. LOL. Putting in near the dam we motored around just looking at Norfork, lots of water and where to fish was the question. We trolled some deep diving lure on light lines in deep water, main lake points, was a total bust, my Hummingbird 565 showed fish but who knows what they were. So as the sun really started to burn in we headed to the back of the coves to find some bream, finally found them the hotest lure was a scgool bus orange colored bettle spin with s tiny silver blade, the bogger #5 colorado blade failed me for some reason. The water is certainly stained this year and that may be the key. We caught lots of green sunfish, some 7-8 inches long one nice 9 inch greeny. Several 6 inch bluegill and one real monster. On light tackle these little fiosh can certainly put up a fight. There are a few one pound largemouth hiding back inthe brush too. Again on the light tackle pretty darn fun. As the afternoon sun started dropping we went back to the main lake points, fish started busting bait on top. We tried top waters and had several nice fish hit them but did not hook up. So we switched to White Rooster tails and started catching fish. After about five minute of fighting something on my line, I had about a 15lb striper beside the boat and while getting the net under it, the fish managed to break off the Rooster tail. Thats why its fishing and not catching but still fun. We caught a bunch of small whites and hybirds but did not hook up with any more stripers. What we did catch thats really odd to me is several 2 lb smallmouth bass. Not that I dont catch some but they were caught inthe bass herd on the Rooster tails over 100 feet of water about 150 feet off the shoreline, so much for structure related. A fellow in another boat caught a 4 1/2 lb smallmouth in the mix off shore and he was about fifty feet from us in even deeper water. Just before dark all the fish shut down and the bite really picked up Skeeters that is, seldom have I seen this many skeeters in open water, must be the way the lake is this year.
  10. Saturday I put in at White HOle and motored up to the dam. Low and behold inside the signs by some 100 yards is a boat fishing,, on the left hand side. Well well inside the signs. do people think they are special??? Is it that important that they cannot read these huge signs? Next I see some guys come screaming up and start throwing Rapalas!! Catching small rainbows and keeping them!! Again am I wrong or are the rules just for me and a few other people? I understand you can use a lure with a sinlge barbless hook, but I know you are not suppose to keep the fish you catch if they are trout. Or has this rule been suspended? I watched as a couple other boats kept trout. and went up well inside the signs to fish. I guess if they have to cheat to catch a few trout then so be it. I am not a tattle tail but sure felt like calling the G&F I probably would have if I was one of the people who cant live without a cellphone. Later since few were catching fish, it took me a bit to figure out them too. but I was well down stream from the park, figured out the fish and was having some fun and here comes every boat on the river, like there was no other place with fish. Lots of water lots of fish and I had two boats darn near hit mine, I mean with in two feet, had I not backed up they would have. Others would cut right in under my drift. Am I wrong or is the boat without power and drifting not have the right of way? I mean this is unreal, there is not any excuse for people guides included being rude on the river. I thought the rules were if you wanted to fish the same bank you went upstream from the drifting boat and the first one there has the right of way, you dont use a motor to push someone off the bank. Guess this is going to serve as a warning, I will never cut you off, I will never get in front of you on a drift. I expect the same courtesy!! You better be just that too. I promise it will not be as much fu nnthe next time and your clients will not appreciate it either.
  11. Look at a big truck like this, What is your life worth?" My brother is a fireman and every week they pull someone who will die or is dead out of the smaller trucks and those inthe large trucks almost always walk away. A couple years ago there was a head on crash in Harrison on Cottonwood road and bunker, the place is bad because the idiots driving Bunker will not stop. Anyway the Toyota cross the line and hit a F-350 head on, the Toyota was destroied and the people in the F-350 walked a way and the F -350 was repaired and is still on the road. Thats one reason I still drive my gas hog.
  12. Clean pics no clutter., no shadows, nice bright light. if you have to lay the fish on a towel or on the bank in grass and take the pic, you may even need to turn the fish around for belly and back pics. Fill the frame with the fish
  13. Guided Striper Fishing On Beaver Lake Beaver lake is the first lake on the White River System. It is well known for its fine striper fishing and for large striped bass. The state record of 64 lbs 8 oz was caught in Beaver Lake Tailwaters. The lake record is 58 lbs. You can fish for the striped bass 12 months out of the year, A guided trip with us includes all the things needed to catch fish The cost for a half-day trip for two people is -----$295.00 Give us a call at 479-925-1231 any time to set up a trip or if you want more information Chuck lives on the lake and fishes daily.
  14. The bears are most likely overflow from Arkansas. Arkansas has aroound 5000 bears, more or less. Really a pretty high bear population. I have seen several bear over the years on the south shore of Bull Shoals. Several in and around the Omaha AR to Berryville area, when you consider thats not to far from Missouri. You can see its ver possible to catch overflow bear. Esp in the spring when sows are running the two year olds off. Bear have been found in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisianna and even Mississippi with DNA traced to Arkansas bear. AGFC is working a bear trap near Promised land area of Baxter County now. So as you can see its pretty easy for bear to travel miles looking to establish a new home range.
  15. BPS in Springfield has them.
  16. We just came in from Norfork, did pretty good on the points for White Bass, and hung several stripers but on the light tackle were not able to boat them, had about a 20lb striper bust a Spook at the boat, the fight want no it was over before you could blink. The fight was great while they lasted. We were casting to the trees over a bluff working some nice hybrids and some nice stripers feeding really good and catching smaller fish when an old fart in his pontoon ran right over the fish, what an idiot, his exuse was he has limb lines out! The guide was calm and cool, I can tell you I would not have been I would have spooked the old buzzards hat off. Anyway we had a pretty good day landing a lot of smaller fish. You C&R guys will be happy we released everything. The white were from about 3/4lb to1 1/2lbs and the stripers would have been pretty fair had we got thim in the boat.
  17. Zara Spooks on the points from 5:30 to 10:00AM, also white Rooster tails will tear them up.
  18. I found some single hook RTs at BPS. mash them down and a drop of super glue makes them pretty smooth. I have even caraolina rigged the RT with a huge brass swivel and 1/4 bullet sinker to get them down. Some of the RTs with single hooks dont seem to spin as well I think its because the drag of the single hook verse the treble. I have even put a pinched slipt shot on the hook for better performance.
  19. Gold with black back, the chrome and transaprent green Rooster has been working pretty good too. Sometimes if you get follow ups on the CD-5 dropping to a CD-3 will trigger more strikes.
  20. Thanks Bill. I will post the results. Army mmedically retired me for shoulders and back, something about jumping out of airplanes and compression fractures in the Thorasic region , not one vertebrea but all of them!! Anyway I dont handle heavy fishing rods for very long, light ones work fine for me anyway, I seldom fish for bass on the lakes. and troll for walleye when the water is right for me. Small lightweight spinning rods are about it and then I have to switch off and drag bait awhile. Thanks for the help John
  21. Spell check thats not on this computer, half the time it does not load the page completly or refreshes it without being ask to. It has Millien on it and sucks. Beside Is this a grammer class? Typing was not offered to everyone when I was in school, it was stone and chisel or we had to make our own paper. Hey maybe I cannot type, maybe I cannot find speel cheack but hand me a fish, a deer or small mammal to go on the wall and I bet I can handle that!!
  22. They will never be tame. They will just acept people until its to late. There is a saying "A fed bear is a dead bear!" its so right! I have a small bear that hangs around here, he and yes its a he, does not get fed anything and when we catch him to close to the house we try to run him off, even tot he point a using a shotgun and #9 bird shot. Last summer my son and I were working on an old car and the young bear came within about 30 yards of us we never knew he was there until it would have been to late. There are lots of brush piles and downed trees for the bear to dig grubs out of, but then I live west of hwy 123 and theres not much between us and hwy 7 pretty remote with several thousand acres behind our place. Yep dont feed the bears!
  23. Yea, I remember when they had the party barges. Wonder why they stopped?
  24. So thats where my kids went to, they answer to Boo Boo and Yogi. I have a friend that lives just east of Yellowstone, he is about as ruff a Mountain man as you will find. Near where he lives in the old place where Bill COdy lived for a while. Anyway they have a few bear in the area when one smaller Grizzly gets attention he will take a huge collar and chain the collar has spikes on it, he walks along askiong tourist if they have seen his grizzly.
  25. Northern pike and Musky!!! That would add some real exictment!
