  1. If they'll work on a Nissan Titan, I may be interested.Dan-o
  2. 20.5 inches. Not sure about the girth but it was FAT. Next time SHE can control the canoe while I fish. Dan-o
  3. Ditto on Ollie's response. I can't speak for Missouri, but in Arkansas the commissioners set the regulations while the biologists simply make suggestions and I've been told by a couple of reputable ones (who I won't drag into this) that while pulling smallies off beds is legal, that doesn't make it smart. Everyone has a right to an opinion. Even us "Elitists". Dan-o
  4. Nice ones Russ. See ya soon. Bobbi says Hi. Dan-o
  5. True, but I'd rather see them work for it as opposed to being served a free buffet of baby smallmouth. Simply my opinion. Dan-o
  6. Every one of those nests probably lost half the eggs or fry in them to small sunfish and suckers, chubs etc. while the fish was being caught and admired. Think about it. Dan-o
  7. That's it. Here's a picture at low water. Probably would have a little more water flowing through while you guys were there. Dan-o
  8. I see you camped under the Eagles Roost.Buddy of mine proposed to his wife there. They were enjoying a glass of wine after dinner while camping there and he had some friends hang a huge WILL YOU MARRY ME banner from the cliff. Next time you camp there, look for the small tributary flowing in from the river left bank right after the sharp bend. Hike about 1/3 mile up the trib and you'll find a spectacular 30 foot waterfall that cascades through a hole in the overhanging bluff. Dan-o
  9. Floats and fishes well. Great gravel bars and it's more scenic than the lower sections. It can be hard to arrange a shuttle if the folks at Kings River Outfitters are busy. I'd call them well in advance unless you plan on doing your own shuttle. Good Luck. Dan-o
  10. My wife and I are were hoping to get up to the White/Norfork along with my brother and his family this weekend. My wife and I flyfish but my brothers crew will be spinfishing. We're planning on camping (Cotter campground maybe). We don't have riverboats but do have canoes and if the water is low were thinking of floating from Wildcat to Cotter or Cotter to Rim. My question for all you guys in the know is what are the chances for some low water on the white (or Norfork) this weekend? We're not dead-set on floating but would at least like to have some windows of wadable water. I'd also like to hear some advice on places to camp. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Dan-o
  11. Hoglaw, check your PM. Dan-o
  12. I fished the Watts area Christmas eve and saw lots of dead shad scattered around on the gravel just below the high-water line. Looks like the trout are cashing in on them. Dan-o
  13. You may be right -- it does have a bit of bronze coloration and I have caught a few crossbreeds in that river. Dan-o
  14. Great pics. Might try to hit the Ouachita or Caddo Sunday if weather and water levels permit. Keep in touch. Oh, and yes that's a spot. Dan-o
  15. Nice one Russ !! Sorry we couldn't catch you and Jeananne at the Mulberry weekend before last (out of town). Dan-o
  16. Picture #1 is Big Piney Creek north of Russelville. Shuttle heading up to Helton's Farm. #2 is Longpool Campground. Not sure about the Mo. pics. Dan-o
  17. Hey Russ. I'm afraid Bobbi and I won't be able to make it. My dad is in the hospital and he's not doing very well so we're having to watch over his business. Throw in our own jobs and needless to say things are a bit hectic right now. Anyway, we hope everything goes well with the clean-up and hope to see you guys in the near future. Dan-o
  18. Not sure about access points on Baron Fork. I do know that you can use Horseshoe Bend access on Tenkiller and paddle up to the confluence (about a mile). You'll have to pull up three or four gravel shoals, but it's not to bad. Lots of smallies where it dumps into the Illinois. Hope this helps. Dan-o
  19. I've seen one bear on the Kings (ran like hell when he saw us) and have found tracks along the Buffalo. Keep a clean camp and you shouldn't have any problems. Watch out for the racoons at the campgrounds along the buffalo -- they know how to open coolers and Rubbermaid containers, and they love Hershey Bars. Dan-o
  20. Nice job guys!! that smallie is as pretty as any I've seen. Needless to say, Bobbi and I are in for a clean-up. Dan-o
  21. Funniest looking mast I've ever seen on a boat. Kidding aside, great pics. Bobbi and I look forward to seeing you guys soon. Almost time for food, beers and Razorback football on the radio at the HH campground. Dan-o
  22. Great fish!!
  23. Happy birthday Zach!!
  24. My wife and I are planning a family oriented trip with my brother and his family to the Buffalo next wkend. Taking canoes, but not sure whether we will actually float or not. Was wondering what the Carver Access/Campground is like - is there a decent swimming hole? Any decent fishing water you can hike or wade to? etc.... I bet Bobber can help me out on this one. Thanks. Dan-o
