good luck, hope you heal quickly. they did my surgery laproscopically a few years ago, and it was much better or so they said, my first surgery, but I was in on friday, and out on sunday afternoon. Hope it works out for you also. Good luck.

Are they offering a fly out each day for that price ? That is a good price, we paid about that last year for 2 fly outs and lodging. It is great they are able to keep the prices down, I figured they would have gone up a lot more from last year. I'm ready to go back.

I am looking for a 16" or a 21" 30-30 barrel for a thompson contender. Anybody got one to sell or trade holler at me maybe we can work out a deal, also looking for a Thompson contender frame if you have one you want to part with. Blued or stainless barrel either is fine.

I heard there were going to be a few items marked down as much as 40 or 50 percent, man what a deal. I wonder if one of the 40% off items will be a sage rod or two ? I could use a new sage rod if anybody wants to get me a new one for christmas, 9' 5wt would be just about right.
-
25% off of a preimum rod, wow that will sure help with the christmas budget for a lot of people. That will make a lot of people buy stocking stuffers, I'll bet that will be great for buisness. And it is always good to watch Harvey tie flies, he ties some great looking bass and trout stuff. 25% off what a deal

Yes a mile or so below the cabin.

It was trash, and yes I picked it up, I pick up several pieces of trash everytime I fish, I don't think it was litter, it looked like something washed down from one of the floods. There are always bits of trash to pick up.

Roaring River Trout Management Area, 4.5 miles of stream outside the park boundary,(to curry bridge) is open for fishing year-round. It is a white ribbon area. It is pretty good fishing right now, but as the water levels drop the holes become fewer and more walking is required, but it can be good all year long, the water is about normal right now.
-
I fished a few areas on the lower roaring river today, I fished the pryor crossing area first, didn't catch a fish, but seen a few, one nice brown, but no takers I then went up to the cemetary area, caught 3 up there and had a lot of fish on, but only landed the three, here are some pics. I took some river shots also. Fishing was good, saw the game warden, he waved as he drove past, he knows me so he didn't check me. Caught all my fish today on PMS type flies or on woolybuggers, purple and olive were my best colors today.

Great, I'll be open from 10:00-1:00 3hrs of work is plenty for me when the fishing is good I keep telling my wife, 3hrs a day 3 days a week is plenty.

I throw it upstream of the fish I'm fishing for and it sinks pretty quick, I let it swing in the current keeping it right off the bottom I like it to roll and bounce off the bottom a bit, and the trout will usually pick it up as it swings up off the bottom, I've had fish turn on their nose, standing nose down on the bottom trying to pick up the bunny bug. I have had good luck fishing it in the faster riffles also, sometimes I'll throw it out straight downstream, give the line some slack and let the fly sink, and then work it back in a quick twitch just a few inches at a time, I've had fish come all the way out of the water to hit the bunny bug,

Me And Babler Are Headed To Loz For Some Crappie!

The video was great, we need more of them, keep fishing and keep filming. -
Bestbuy just told us our 1 year old sony Vaio was needing a new Motherboard $800.00 We have two HP's, I have a notebook and my wife uses a bigger laptop for school. Both have the same memory and are just as good as the sony and they both cost 500.00 less, and I'll bet they are even cheaper now. I got mine for 899.00 at Circutcity, and we bought my wifes' at wal-mart for $600.00 the sony was $1500.00 and never did seem to work as good as the HPs do. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't by a dell or a sony again after using our HPs.

Sorry you talked to the right guys, and they told you right, we all fish there at that little bridge, people have their kids there all summer long, I've never seen anybody ran off of that area. The park office is where the campers pay for camp sites and where the super has his office. The DNR guys are great but they don't really have anything to do with the fishing regs. You did the right thing, for fishing info from the guys with the knowledge of the river, go to the hatchery, and if Jerry or Kevin don't know they'll call one of the Wardens and ask them. I would just fish there if I were you, I'll be down there thursday, and I will park at the cemetary and fish all thru that area. fishing has been good there all year, the extra water really helped this year. The hatchery (MDC) stocked 300 browns in that area the past month or so, did you catch any of the browns ?
-
I fish that area several times a month, where were you when she talked to you ? That whole area is flood plain, not usable, never have I had someone tell me I couldn't fish there, now I know all the guys that own the land and that helps. Did she say who her father was? I don't know of any of the Pryors passing away recently. The park office people have nothing to do with conservation. So any info you get from them would be only a guess on their part. For any MDC info go to the hatchery, or call a local game warden. I have talked to wardens before down there, I've even been checked while fishing right in front of the cemetary, never been told I was trespassing. The game wardens are in that area a lot on the weekends, there is a lot of road hunters around

Yea those purple skins are great, I've caught several large fish with purple squirrel hair flies, I've even used the scraps to tie some purple nymphs, and you know what they have worked well also. Purple tail, silver wire, purple flashabou for a wing case, and a silver tungsten bead has been working pretty well in the riffles at Roaring River. #16's have been working best for me so far in the nymphs. 30 hides won't last long Phil.

Fridays are always good, the fish are ready to go after a few days of rest. Just more people on fridays, but not as many as on a sat. or sun. Yes it was well worth the cold, I only fished till 10:00 and then I had to go take care of a few things, went back down at 2:00 and there were only 7 people in the upper area (zone 1) it was still good fishing, the trout were hitting caddis, most of the afternoon, I didn't get anymore really good fish this afternoon, but caught plenty of 12-14" rainbows. Here is the bunny bug, tied on a #2 Dai-riki 700 about 15 wraps of .025 lead wire. It is amazing to me that a 12" rainbow will tackle this thing, it is about 3" long.
-
It was nice this morning not a sole around and kinda chilly, but the trout were very active, I missed a few nice ones, caught a lot of small fish and landed this nice one. Caught most on my # 2 orange/white bunny bug, fish measured 27" not fat but was nice and long.
-
I fished yesterday for a couple of hrs, I didn't see a brown, but the rainbows I caught were fat ahd healthy.

If you ever get to springfield, go by Bass Pro and go to their outlet store, sometimes they have real small wading boots in the store, along with smaller sized waders.
-
I don't know what Phil uses them for, but I always carry a few dark corks for when I'm fishing over spooky fish. I have been painting my own for years, I have seen black ones before for sale but never brown, brown would be good, it would look like a piece of wood. Maybe they are using them for walleye ? Phil did you get my e-mail on the lights ?

The Conservation pull off area is just right outside the park, probabaly where you saw all the cars(deer season) All the muncy area is flood plain, you can go to the bridge just past the cemetary and start there and fish up or down stream and nobody will say a word, just don't go walking accross the properties and you'll be ok. I go to the Curry bridge area and I park there sometimes and walk upstream from there, stay in the river or inside the flood plain areas and you'll do fine. Charles Curry lives just above the bridge. He was the hatchery manager for years at Roaring River, the hatchery stocks to the bridge once a month march-oct. Below the bridge is where the lake officially starts, above the bridge is where stream rules apply. Have fun, the fishing is good down there.

Thanks guys, prayer really works, the father in-law is doing some better, at least he is off the vent. He is not out of the woods yet, but he can see the tree line now. It will be 3 months or more before he can start rehab, and 5 or 6 months, maybe more before he can ever walk again, he may never walk, but if he tries I think he will. Guys can't say thanks enough. Ony other thing I can say is DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE It is bad enough what he has done to himself, but what if he had hurt someone else, you know that would be hard to live with. Thanks again.
