  1. Barely. We need to start a Streamer Support Group. I have neglected my poor nymphs for a couple of years now.....poor, lonely souls only get fished when I have clients in the boat.
  2. I always have MAJOR plans to do this.......but never end up doing it. My problem is WAAAY too many streamers. I have my nymphs in 2 fly boxes and carry at least a dozen of each pattern in up to 4 or 5 colors and that is pretty much it. But I have 4 big Meat Locker streamer boxes and they are pretty much full. I 'am' in a different spot than a lot of people though, I had a client lose probably 8 Double Deceivers on a float the other day.
  3. See that limb hanging directly over the water? I estimate (conservatively) that it has stolen approximately 3,423 of my flies over the years. Great trip report by the way.
  4. Get a streamer in front of the right fish at the right time and the sun could be 3' from the water surface and it will still eat.
  5. Recipe Rear Hook- Hook: Gamakatsu B10s #2 Tail: Marabou (2 colors, palmered) Tail 2: Rubber Legs Wing: Magnum Bunny Strip Body: EP Tarantula Brush Front Hook- Hook: Gamakatsu B10s #1 Eyes: Aluminum Sea Eyes Stick-on Eyes: Clear Cure Eyes Tail: Marabou Tail 2: Rubber Legs Wing: Magnum Bunny Strip Body: EP Tarantula Brush Finish off with CCG Hydro
  6. I casted in the Best of the West competition in Denver (before it turned into a accuracy only competition and basically died) and they had a variety of rods to choose from. This event was a huge indoor event with over 700 casters just in Denver, and they had 3 other ISE Shows they held the competition at. If you are casting a standard floating line and no shooting-heads or other tweaked lines the chances of breaking the rod through the casting stroke are slim to none. There were casters that put up HUGE numbers (120'+) with standard 9' 5wt rods and floating line and no rods broke. Haven't distance casted in a while....might need to start messing with it again.
  7. Blow out? WHAT are you talking about? It will wait until you and I have had a couple of chances to float and really home in on them.....and then it will blow out. See any stripers?
  8. OH CRAP! My eldest is having his birthday party on the 13th.....I am out. Sorry guys, I totally forgot.
  9. I have TRIED to find a color they won't eat.....still working on that. I lean toward green this time of year (caddis) but the colors Justin listed are my go-to's too.
  10. I will have my boat in-tow.....will have room too.
  11. Pat's Rubberlegs San Juan Worms Psycho Princes Also an assortment of big, gnarly streamers is you huck a 7 or 8wt. The main thing is to make sure you are fishing DEEP. We have plenty of water in the river right now so 5-6' below an indicator is a good start.
  12. We COMPLETELY hijacked this thread.....but I hope On The Fly 6 got a kick out of our shenanigans.
  13. Ok, so looking at the timeline of said events.....said fish was caught around 12 hours before this thread started, crap. Well, there is 'one' disability I can think of.....
  14. I was going to multi-quote everything you punks were throwing around, but then I got tired. So....while you guys were busy knocking my pink cap and soul patch (only seriously cool guys can pull that off by the way) I was busy.....with one of my fisherman......catching this. Carry on, meager fisherman....carry on.
  15. Is it totally wrong that I exploited her hotness?
  16. Hey Guys, The 2nd video in the Thomas Harvey Series is the Trophy Wife. I thought it would be festive to have my wife help out on the video.... Recipe: Hook - Owner Eyes - Tungsten Eyes (with Clear Cure Eyes glued on for good measure) Tail - Ice Wing Fiber Tail Accents - Craft Fur Underbody - Polar Chenille Overtail - Magnum Bunny Strip Head - Laser Dub Top it all off with Clear Cure Goo Hydro PS: WHY can't I post a video anymore instead of a link?
  17. Agreed. I have just always wondered what the people that think along those lines think about Self-Sustaining Populations Vs. Fish placed by the hand of God Vs. Stocked Fish. There are obviously BIG differences in all 3, you can't compare a NFOW Rainbow with a Trout Park Rainbow, YET...our rainbows haven't been in the river since creation. I just think it is interesting, the different ways to look at it.
  18. Something hit me when I was editing this....has anyone ever seen the movie "The Ring" where the insanely scary black headed gal comes out of the television? Yeah, my youngest is in Justins boat on the right-wearing a black wig. I haven't been able to look at him the same way since I noticed that.
