  1. So a few days ago my family and I became addicted to this Harlem Shake craze that is going on. We wasted a solid hour watching these 30 second videos. Over the weekend we planned a big streamer fishing trip because of the high water and when I got a text from Justin saying "Harlem Shake video at Sunburst in between floats?"........well, the rest is history.
  2.   More browns on the lower section....because they are stocked down there. If you catch a brown in the upper section it is usually a solid, solid fish. I think they average around 18" in the upper section with fish as big as 28" (or at least that is the biggest I have put my hands on--there is one that is scary huge hanging around the upper that I know is bigger than 28")
  3.   I won't get into a serious discussion about Wild vs. Native. I get both sides and defenitely lean toward the Wild fish being born in the river and Native fish being placed by the hand of God into the river. Jdmidwest, you are along the lines of thinking that Native fish were never stocked and therefore are Wild fish. But, as someone that thinks along those lines what, in your eyes would you call the rainbows on the NFOW. They for sure aren't "stockers" as they haven't been stocked in 50 years, and since they were stocked 50 years ago, they aren't "wild". I have always wondered what category people that think along these lines put the rainbows of the NFOW in. As for no reproduction of brown trout in the NFOW, I am with the TroutDoorsman (who is a crazy good guide that I am lucky enough to work with) we catch 1 or 2, 3" brown trout every year. Not enough for me to say that I believe there is anything serious going on, but it happens. I would be seriously suprised if there isn't a tiny population in the Current as well...just not enough to do anything about.
  4.   If you aren't in a boat, watch the river levels....we are getting a great push of water today.
  5. I thought it started off good.....but the theatre lost me. I would rather do a spoof on a UFC fight between a Sex Dungeon and a Double Deceiver.
  6. VERY nice! Any rainbows pushing, or over 20" on the NFOW is really, really rare. Great fish.
  7. If by "dudes" you mean "old men"....no.
  8.   HE DID!! I got the Alpha III though. They are really sexy reels, and I am still surprised how smooth (and STOUT) the drag is. Sure, I got the bigger game reel but it will go from total free-spool all the way to so tight that you cannot pull line at all.......all in once-click intervals. That is the meaning of awesome drag, and it is sealed. I will say that it is a little too quiet for my taste, I really like the sound of a sweet sounding reel as line is peeling off but I can deal with it being so quiet when it looks like this:http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server4600/cb329/products/213/images/827/_DSC1858__17642.1360081267.1280.1280.jpg
  9. quote name="Justin Spencer" post="266856" timestamp="1360775417"] Thief, yes and thank you, did the glasses work yesterday? Wow, just now getting back to you......yes, they worked. I got to see a really, REALLY big fish eat my streamer, and then I saw myself set the hook like I was nymphing (with an 8wt, T-3 line, and a big streamer.....can you say amateur hour), and then I got to watch that fish swim away. All through those awesome sunglasses.
  10.   I will try to do better next time.
  11.   Ahh, that one clump.....that is a little tricky. It depends exactly on where you ended the body, how thick your previous clumps of Laser Dub were, etc. But in the video I actually "figure 8" the top and bottom clump of Laser Dub directly over the stem of the Dumbell eyes. I usually try to shoot for that as it fills that gap really well if you can do it.
  12. Hey guys, I started a new tying series with fly tyer Thomas Harvey. Thomas has a totally unique feel and look to his flies and I seriously dig them. First up, the Wedding Veil. Recipe: Hook - Gamakatsu B10s #1 Tail - Saddle Hackle Body - EP Sparkle Brush Eyes - Clear Cure Dumbell Eyes Head - Laser Dub Finished off with some Clear Cure Goo Hydro and some Prismacolor Markers
  13. No, and they are back in my possession. Did you get my trade (your coat)?
  14.   Agreeeed! Nice video! I use PowerDirector for my editing(not color-grading though)....it is super easy to use and a lot more on the cheap side than a lot of stuff out there.
  15. Beautiful work Mr. Spencer...inspiring, for sure. This wasn't the fishing trip where you used the magic sunglasses was it?
  16. Yeah, kind of like a certain Gar Fishing trip.....you remember that don't you--or at least parts of it. WOOOO
  17. Hi, my name is Brian Wise...I am a fly fishing guide and this is how fun it is to fish with me.... I personally think it is fun when crap is thrown at fly fishing videos. In this instance, I have to admit though -- If JoeD doesn't like the current fly fishing videos the best thing to do is 1. Don't watch them or 2. Make a better video himself. (I would watch it) Pretty simple....or is it?
  18. Dig it.....and SERIOUSLY AGGRESSIVE Hog Snare, awesome!
  19. This is going to make for a fun Friday!
  20. Oh wait.....I just put another video out.
  21. Well crap.........I am officially retired from Fly Fishing videos. My un-original stuff will never be seen again.
  22. Yeah, I am gong to do a video on the Odyssey....my program/computer is on the fritz right now so fingers crossed I will get some stuff done fairly soon.
