  1. Here is 1 Facebook link that might help. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/In-Memory-of-Joplin-MO-Tornado-Victims-5222011/100243786734840 The biggest problem is that there are still a bunch of people without power and cell phone reception is still a little iffy, but if someone knows them you might get a response. Good Luck
  2. I was wondering about him too???????
  3. Good to hear you and your boys are safe Jeremy.
  4. I was in Joplin when the tornado sirens went off. The radio said the tornado was heading down 32nd street, which is where we were, so we headed north along Rangeline. We didn't know that we were actually heading right into its path,it was coming straight toward us. We managed to get ahead of the storm and out of it's path. We did have another big scare. Our granddaughter was staying with her father who lived on 26th street when the tornado went through. We could not get in touch with them so my wife and I took off to look for them. I have to say that I have never seen anything like this before in my life. We ended up on Main street just trying to go south. From Walgreens south it looked like a nuclear bomb had gone off. Landmarks were gone. No buildings standing more than a couple of feet high. Piles of rubble and smashed cars along what used to be a busy city street. Less than 2 hours after the tornado had totally destroyed a huge portion of the city, portable triag units had been set up and were treating the walking wounded. Others were being transported by people who had voluteered to take them to the hospital and Memorial Hall. Unspeakable destruction. We were in shock at what we witnessed. We were only able to get to within 2 blocks of where our granddaughter was staying and with out a flashlight we could get no further. We decided to go back to our daughters house and wait. After starting out at 8:00PM we got back to her house at about 11:00PM to find our granddaughter had been taken there by her school principle. Minor cuts and bruises were her only injuries. Her father suffered many more injuries because when the storm hit he covered her with his body, most likely saving her life, when the roof and ceiling collapsed with some landing on his back. He is still in the hospital but is doing good. Had I not seen the destruction for myself I would never have believed it. The photos don't do justice to what happened here in Joplin. My home has been without electricity since the storm or I would have posted something sooner. As of today help is pouring in from all corners. Thanks to all who have helped by donating supplies and labor.

    Report

Switchfly, that was the first time I'd been to Hickory since mid March. I drive a tan '98 Ford pickup. Come hunt me down if you see it parked along the creek.

Sorry I missed the post Ollie. It was a pretty good couple of hours. The fish fought hard which made it worth the hunt. They are spread out, but they are there.
  7. Nice Chance.
  8. Exactly.
  9. I think Cricket hit the nail on the head with the circle hooks. If you are going to fish with live bait you want to be able release at least a few fsh. Worms will catch anything that swims and because of that I only use worms when starting a kid out fishing, that's how I started and how I started each of my kids and grandkids, just to get them hooked. (pun intended) But after you have them interested they are open and ready to try fishing with in-line spinners and beetle spins and on from there. This is just my opinion and I really don't have a problem with people fishing with live bait. It's just that I've seen too many irresponsible people rip the hooks out and leave fish floating down the creek.
  10. Looks like a beautiful creek.
  11. Not yet. Gonna give her 1 more week. May can be awesome if the creek doesn't get blown out again.
  12. He's really just an **** who has too much time on his hands and has the little king syndrome.
  13. Lets not forget that Chief had an ailing son in his canoe. If he was moving ahead it was to get Dylan home.
  14. Chief found a friend for all of us in our Sheriff. He was asked, basically, not to make waves. Whether or not you would have done that really doesn't matter. It was he who was asked to do it. You need to work on your people skills. The original STORY, as you have called it, is something that Chief and I and one other forum member knew about prior to this float. Was this section picked just to aggravate Prater? NO!!! It was picked because it is one of the most productive stretches on the creek. Trust me when I tell you that we will float it again this summer and I for one will also wade the same spot that KC and Cricket were run off of. If the cops show up they will be dealt with as all authorities should be, with respect. That goes both ways guys. As far as the high water mark comments go, none of us came close to those. So that was never in question. Pick and choose the language you want from what the MDC and the Missouri Supreme Court says. The bottom line is that we were harassed by not only a landowner, who has obviously overdosed on Viagra for Chief, and the local deputy, who by the way was the same deputy we dealt with back in February and obviously gave both Chiefs name and my name to a landowner who not only called them out under the illusion of lies but had sole intent to harass. That too is obvious by the constant calls to his place of work and to the county commissioner who he( obviously ) has in his pocket and the bogus warrant for his arrest. Time to give it up CWF. You don't have anything but supposition. And I think you may have an overdose of Viagra when it comes to Chief.
  15. Not in this KANGAROO court, thank you.
  16. You don't know the whole story and I'll leave it at that.
  17. Nothing could be further from the truth there CWF, but you go ahead and make assumptions. Chief did nothing wrong PERIOD!!!!!
  18. Welcome to the forum. Be sure to post pics with those reports.
  19. Looks like they were having fun. I really laughed when he stuck the one fish on his spiked helmet. Priceless.
  20. Wow. It's amazing how much water can come from that hole in the ground.
  21. Looks like justice has been served!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Flood Pics

I saw that this evening. I was heading down 59 and saw a sign saying Bus. 60 was closed. I came back through town to try to get to Lime Kiln and they had it bocked off so I took the side road. I have seen that much water out in that field, but that was unreal. All along the side road there were springs and creeks running full tilt. No wonder the water was over the road. I wonder if it ripped up the asphalt on the other side of the tracks like it did in '08? It will be interesting to see all of the changes this flood has done to Shoal Creek.
  23. Great looking fly.

    Flood Pics

She's rolling for sure. I tried to make it into Neosho after work today to check out Shoal Creek and Hickory, but all of the roads were flooded. I did get near enough to Shoal to see that it was so far out of the banks it looked like the Missouri River. No fishing for a while.
