  1. I can't afford to photo shop!
  2. My personal best KY was a 4.67 weighed in a Central Pro Am December tourney. We were ledge fishing steep bluffs in the White River arm. Here's a pic of probably my biggest Table Rock LM from last Spring. No scales that day! Several smallies over 4, but no exact weights.
  3. I just picked up a Falcon Cara T7 Carolina Lizard Dragger. I've wanted one of these for years, and found a new one at a great price. Does anyone else have one of these, and if so, what other applications have you used it for? I'm anxious to try it for FB jig as well.
  4. I use an older Shimano Clarus 6' med/light for Rogues and Pointers. I'm 5'10", and have had similar problems slapping the boat with longer rods. The Clarus line are inexpensive and have full replacement warranty (at least the green ones did, not sure about the current lineup).
  5. Thanks for speaking up and sharing your story. It's funny the arrogance shown on here from time to time. When someone asks a question about equipment or tackle that isn't "Steez", "Pig Sticker", the finest "Shimano", or "Falcon" products, you're pretty much second class. If it wasn't for fine tuning the wheel, we would never make advancements, and how boring would life be doing the same thing, with the same stuff, with the same people day in and day out. I'm sure if your product said "Chompers" it would be the new sliced bread. Not many of us take the time to craft something new or better, but rather settle on someone elses idea. There's nothing cooler than crafting your own lure, having enough confidence to throw it, and actually having success with it. Most of all, thanks for doing this not out of greed, but to make a difference for someone else your likely to never meet.
  6. Nice bass and great report!
  7. If you're a good clear water fishermen on the White River Chain, Greers is right up your alley. If you like fishing grass and lily pads, go to DardanelIe. 'd prefer Dardanelle myself, but caught tons of fish in both lakes, Greers isn't difficult to navigate, but be very careful on Dardanelle. You might consider dropping the trolling motor from where you are or getting behind a boat that knows where they're going. There are good channel markers, but pay attention to those. Good Luck!
  8. Fish Ogre, that's a wicked looking Needlefish. I think I'll leave my rods at home and just rent theirs. I used the circle hooks last year during my offshore trip and they are hard to get used to. I'm conditioned to setting the hook and that'll pop the fish off every time. If live bait's the way to go, I'll just take my wallet with me and buy the hooks and sinkers there. I don't think Redfish or Grouper season even starts until the first of June, but it looks like a ton of other possibilities from the pier. Here's a video of a guy at Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier that hooked a Hammerhead Shark. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldXsb0vNH-s
  9. I'm leaving Friday for Fort Walton Beach, FL (5 minutes from Destin). I plan on going drop fishing on a head boat one day and doing some pier fishing at least one other day. I'm an avid freshwater fisherman, and I've been fishing the Ozarks for Bass, Crappie, Whites, etc... for years. The local fishing pier rents out rods and reels, so I'm thinking about doing that. I have a ridiculous amount of fishing tackle, and was thinking about taking some stuff with me. Does anyone have any experience fishing down there off the pier? I'm looking for suggestions on what to take with me. I'm thinking a chrome red fin, super flukes, a couple of rogues, drop shot stuff for live bait... Anyone?
  10. I have a friend that has used the same basic setup on the river for a few years...a 1/16th oz head with half a senko. It always produces for him. I'm headed down to the river this weekend for a maiden voyage in my kayak. I was wondering where I could find some of the gopher heads. Does BPS or Fin n Feather carry them?
  11. Hey Bry, which Rapala is that? One of the DT series? The Wiggle Wart has been a favorite of mine for years, but when everyone else is throwing one, I like the idea of throwing something else.
  12. My God! Did the lake go down when you pulled her out?
  13. Great Fish Man!
  14. Glad to see your report. I've checked it 4 times and am glad you typed it out instead of speaking it as we wouldn't have understood what the heck was coming from your Cajun mouth! Just kidding, thanks for the report. A friend and I went Sunday out of Tucker. Threw stickbaits all day. 15 or so bass no keeps. 5 walley 2 keeps. Threw a gitzit for about 5 minutes and boated an 8 lb plus drum on spinning tackle/8lb test. Helluva good fight. Warmer water (45) back in Bear creek, fished it last part of afternoon with no biters in there, but plenty of boats. Keep your reports coming, but understand most of us read posts all over the forum just for entertainment and have nothing to say or contribute. (nothing nice anyways).
  15. Great fish!
  16. Nice, did you try any topwater?

I love fishing this time of year. I'm kicking myself for deer hunting last Saturday. 11 hours in the woods and didn't see a thing. Hate missing out on good fishing. Here's another couple fish from that week, some pics taken from a buddy's phone didn't format right for some reason.

No, just long enough to take a few pics and let her back in. I overstressed a big fish up there a couple of years ago in the fall and she didn't make it. We guessed it at 7lbs.

Caught a good one at Stockton last Tuesday. Cloudy 59 degree water temp. Two of us caught 40 on spinnerbait and crankbait. 1-10 ft deep. Main lake and backs of pockets. Saw 1 other boat all day. Kind of makes you feel like you own the place!
  21. I doubt you'll find many people using Chatterbaits on Table Rock. Don't get me wrong Chatterbaits have won their share of big tournaments around the country, but not here. Those baits seem to excel when fished around shallow grass or lily pads. The extra noise and vibration helps bass key in on where the bait is. Table rock is clear enough EVERYWHERE that more subtle baits are needed. Expanding your arsenal is great, but there are plenty of proven baits and techniques published for The Rock to keep you busy. Trust me if you aren't catching them out there it isn't because you aren't throwing a Chatterbait. Table Rock is tough enough as it is, don't make it any harder on yourself than you have to! Check out the articles page and you'll find info on every viable technique related to Table Rock Lake.
  22. Glad you enjoyed all the cloud cover today?????? What planet were you on?????
  23. I live in Nixa where the weather never gets "Real Bad". Always 70 and sunny here.
