  1. We stayed at Big Creek Resort in the Shell Knob area in June. Nice place on the water with a nice dock also. http://www.bigcreekresort.com/accomodations.html
  2. Found them this morning at Bass Pro in Springfield. They were on a end cap at the end of the crank bait/top water isle. Walked past them half a dozen times, then asked for them and the nice lady said "they are right behing you" Go figure! They only had the shad and chrome colors on the end cap. She said that was due to both of them being the best sellers. I've read that just about everyone changes the rear hook out to a feathered hook and also changes the front hook. What size and color of hooks are they changing them out with? Thanks for all the help.
  3. I've heard members talk about "Red Fins". Where can I get them? Does Bass Pro Shops have them by chance?
  4. After much research and thought I decided against a brand new boat. I found a GREAT DEAL on a 2006 Bass Cat Sabre. Very low hours and in perfect shape. I researched Bass Cat and really liked what I found out about them. They are one of the last family owned boat manufacturers and have a great warranty. I would recommend anyone to try one out.
  5. When and where is the Tourny? Is it open to anyone?
  6. Thanks for the info Greg. I'll check the chamber's site. Are the bass spawning yet, already spawned or in the mist of the spawn? I read on the Bull Shoals page that the fish are hitting the same baits there that they are hitting on Table Rock (my home lake). Is this also true for Norfork?
  7. Now Larry, you wouldn't have a grudge against those poor old Cat owners now would you?
  8. I'll never fished Norfork. I'd like any information anyone would care to share. I'll be going to Norfork in a couple of weeks. Thanks in advance
  9. Thanks for the advise guys. I wouldn't buy a boat without a test drive first. My father in law has a Nitro 929 which is now called the Z8. The only problem he has had is with the latches on the storage compartment doors. Several of them have been damaged when he didn't flip them back down after opening and stepped on them. Besides the latches he hasn't had any other problems. I would prefer the buy a Ranger but I don't have the extra $10,000 to spend.
  10. I am seriously looking at buying a new Z7 Nitro and would like to know if any members have one or know someone who does. I've done all my online research but would really like to speak with an expert, a real owner. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Thank you for the information. I'm planning on going either tomorrow or this coming Tuesday. Just hope the fish are still there and the river has calmed down from the rain we are getting today and what they are forecasting for this weekend.
  12. I have a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. It has a 4.0 liter and 5 speed manual trans. It as 151,000 miles and climbing. I have alway got 19 to 20 MPG's on the highway and 15MPG in town if I can keep my foot out of it. I have pulled a 17' bass boat with it from day one. I can't count how many fishing trips we've taken to Grand, Beaver and Table Rock in the old Jeep. It has never used oil. My biggest expense I have had, tires every 50,000 miles and a new soft top this year.
  13. Great fish. We are heading down in the morning. Is there enough water and a good enough boat ramp at Blunks for a 20' bass boat?
  14. Hello all. I've never fished for whites on the James but would really like to give it a shot. I have been fishing for white's on the Spring River arm of Grand Lake above Twin Bridges for years. Would like some advise on where to put in. I have a 1620 Lowe which takes moderate shallow water OK. Thanks for any information.
