I discovered Falcon rods a few years ago and I haven't looked back since. But this isn't so much about the rod as it is about their customer service.
To bring you up to speed, earlier this year, during turkey season, Dylan was using my Falcon rod and it broke. When I got back, I headed back to Academy to see what we could do. They looked it up and discovered they didn't stock that particular rod anymore. They offered me my money back. But what they offered was only $20. Are you freaking kidding me??? $20???? I paided $70!!!
The reason they only offered $20 is that since they were not going to carry this particular rod, they had kept discounting it to get rid of all the stock. If I would have known that, I would have bought a bunch of them for $20!!!
I told them I really don't want the money, I want another rod. So they started to head back to the fishing section and I said don't bother, you don't have any here. They again were at a loss so I suggested they get one from another store. What a novel idea, a store transfer! To the computer we went. They found 1. Only 1 in the whole system. They put in the request to have it shipped and told me it would take about two weeks. They took my name and number and would call when it came in.
Two weeks go by. Three weeks go by. The fourth week I go to get some answers. Nope, nothing yet. Eight freaking weeks, 2 months, go by and I am getting rather warm but remain calm. Finally 3 months into this, I go back and find a different manager and tell him the story. He immediately gets to cracking on the case. He see's there is a rod in cyber land but can't quite follow the tracking of it. BECAUSE THERE IS NO TRACKING!!!!!!! All he can find is the request and that it was shipped. It has now vanished.
He states he will call their buyers and have them find one. He takes my name and number and will call me Monday. Monday comes and goes. And so does every other day of the week. I go back two weeks later and find him. "Ummm, yeah, they can't get one." Oh yeah, you couldn't call me????
So this week I had some business that took me to Tulsa. I thought well, I have nothing to loose at this point, I'll take the rod with me and run by the headquarters and see what will happen. I take care of my bussiness and run to Falcon. I walk in the door, look around for a second and a nice young man walks out. I show him the rod and ask if there is anything they could or would do. He takes it, looks at it. Says I'll be right back. He is gone all of about 90 seconds and comes back out with a brand new rod. Hands it to me and says "here ya go, these just came in".
That simple. Thank you Falcon Rods! You guy's ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
