  1. How much of that sour cream do you really taste? By the time you butter, salt and pepper, most of your sour cream taste is gone. Try putting ranch dressing on there. Especially the Bacon Ranch. OOOOOOOOOOOOOhhh its so goood.
  2. Now that is funny! I mean funny! Speaking of funny, I mean the fall float, does your wife still carry your nads in her purse or are you going to float with us?
  3. Well no I haven't but was curious as to how you did all that hiking with a canoe and all your camping gear? Sounds like to much work for me but, you never know.
  4. to our brother Wheat.
  5. That is certainly an interesting analogy.
  6. It was. As I have reflected back on it, it was somewhat surreal to view my father continuing on as if it was me or Dylan in that front seat. And as I continue, I see me in my fathers posistion with Dylan. And finally, I see Dylan as I was as a child a my father was spilling all of that important information as I soaked it up like a sponge. I mean it was like Christmas past, present and future all in one afternoon outing. Awesome? To say the least my brother! The traditions and outdoorsmanship of the Ozarks being passed on to the younger generation. As they should be. Me either!
  7. So a good day or bad day fishing is dependant upon the number of fish caught? I mean that is fine if that is what it means to you. And I am guilty of using the term "I had a good day today" too but, to me there is more to the outing than the number of fish I caught. I guess what I am trying to say is when I read Greg's post, it struck me as it depends on how many fish he caught if he had a good day or not. But then I can also read that another way and he may very well have meant that he had a great day out but, the fishing was poor. "....Honey......where is my drink?........"
  8. You know you are always welcome to visit anytime.
  9. Beautiful pics bud. And way to go with the fish. Looks like you had a really great trip. Can you share somemore about the trip?? I would like to hear more about the camping and hikeing.
  10. It was a really fun day KC. I am glad you had the opportunity to sit in the front of that canoe. I have always considered it an honor and a priviledge to do so. And I have done so numerous times, always to be amazed at the decades of knowledge that has come forth so readily. He is one of the last true river men. I still learn from him. I just hope that I can pass on what I have been able to learn. As for the fishing, it was a topwater day. Dylan went old school and started tossing a crazy crawler early on. And it was game on. He had an absolute blast using that. After everyone saw what kind of action he was getting, out came all kinds of topwater plugs. Ian caught some on a standard buzz bait too. But you know, fishing aside, I had one of the best floats of the year. What a great time it was just floating and conversing. I didn't fish real hard but I kept busy. It was a great pleasure just to watch the boys have a great time on the water. If Mike ain't careful, Ian is going to become a full fledged riverrat. This was the first float that I can think of that I was not in the same boat with my father. And I got to see him treat, talk, and teach a very dear freind of mine like it was me in that front seat. I haven't talked to my father since the float but, I can tell he had one of the best floats in a long time too. Usually when he and I float, there is not a lot of talk. Except if he thinks I am about to pass up a good spot. But I heard chatter coming from the back of his boat all day long. He loves to tell stories of the old days on the river. And boy does he have a bunch of them. I never tire of hearing them. Sorry this is not much of a fishing report but, sometimes, there is more to a fishing trip than the fishing. I cherish these trips more and more each time. And like my father, I love to share the trips with others.
  11. Now Leonard, ain't that calling the kettle black!!!!! But yeah, some say I grow on them. Like a wart! Sublimez, don't forget about Lamar Lake. On the right day it can be a blast!
  12. You obviously have trouble following along. From the very begining of this thread, I have never stated that I don't enjoy reading a fishing report. In fact if you indeed did read, you would know that eric, Al and I are in agreement about nameing waters that we fish. Which is what this thread is about. But it appears a couple of you have to call people names and deomonize them I guess in an attempt to verify your manhood status. However miniscule it appears to the rest of us. I hope you have a better tomorrow than you are having today. And good luck on you next fishing trip. I hope you will post a report too, I would like to read it. Have you ever posted a report? I don't read all of them but, I just can't recall seeing one from you.
  13. You're asking an awful lot there OTF.
  14. A few of us think that every time we read one of your posts.
  15. Very true. But all of those streams are 50+ miles long too. I may post what stream I was on but, I wont tell you what 5 mile section I floated.
  16. Nope you will still get an invite, along with FT57 to our fall float. I hope you will attend. They do not issue a copy of the Wildlife Code book with every license purchase. There is a copy at most vendors for you to pick up though. And special regs will not guarantee that it will not get fished out. I am assuming that there is some reg there saying something like 1 trout over X length may be creeled. Well, if say 5,000 showed in a years time and kept their one trout, if there is 5,000 in there, that would most likely wipe it out. Now of course this is all hypothetical as is your guarantee but, I think we can both agree. But lets turn this a few degrees and look at a slightly different anggle. You said this not an issue you feel strongly about. But didn't you just post plea a few weeks ago for everyone to lay off of the trout due to hot weather? What if a report came in and the trout bite was really hot(no pun intended)? I am thinking you would get a little miffed that someone posted that. Or lets say your your favorite brownie stream just got hit and a post was made about limits of 20"'er's were coming out of there. I don't think you would be so nonchalant.
  17. Man where have you been??? I haven't see you post in a looooooooooooooooooog time. looks like a sculpin to me. Great trout bait too.
  18. A couple of observations from this conversation. There have been some great post. eric, Outside Bend, Wayne, siusaluki, and others(sorry those are just the ones that I can remember at this time, I know there were some others)that have made compelling statements in support of anonymity. On the other side, those that contribute the least are complaining the most. I will make one exception to that in the Gotmuddy and FT57 are relitively new but, are posting all there trips. Now on another side note, those that choose not to divulge where they are fishing should not be villianized for not doing so. It is all a matter of choice. You may choose to let the world know, others may not. Just let is go at that. You certainly will not be getting a flood of info taking this approach.
  19. You haven't floated with Buzz yet. Bobber: I may have missed this but, just where are you planning on holding this???? I have thought about joining you just to see if I am as good as I think I am.
  20. Now that is the way to start the day! Way to go there. I like throwing chrome myself. Some days it seems as if that is all they want. BTW, how long have you been living down this way?
  21. It depends on how much of the water you drink. Or which mexican resturant you hit. Or any combination there of.
  22. Well, I guess that would represent my skill level too. And if you feel that is the case, then my skill level is vastly superior to yours because I know where the spot is and you don't. In fact I know where every one of them are in SW MO. And I know them by spending my own time and gas money searching. And I have shared a lot of them with other people. Even people on this fourm. But I never posted a one of them.
  23. Why do you say that?
