For those of you that regularly fish the home waters of the Ozark Bass, not counting lake water, Im curious to know what is the average size and what is your largest?
It seems to me as if they don't get as large as the Northern or Shadow. I was wondering if you find the same results. I think this also had some baring of the MDC placing a 7" state wide limit instead of 8".
You are right. I should have said: "One of the reasons..."
I usually catch one or two 20+ LMB's a year. This ol girl was one of the thickest I have ever seen. Most are getting old and thinning a bit. This one was healthy and thick!
Funny you mention that
I got to paying attention to this yesterday. I noticed that most bass from about 14" and down, did indeed take the front hook. But all from 14" and up only took the rear hook.
That's close to what I thought you might say.
I thought it would be the Ness version. Get can from cupboard. Open. Empty contents into microwave save dish. Heat. Let cool. Eat.
Wow! That maybe more steps than my way! LOL!!
I love lasagna but hate going though the laborious steps and long baking time. I want to eat it now!!
Then I saw something on the big wide web that forever changed the way I prepare it. And it's so simple it was like how did I not think of this!
In pot, bring water to a boil for your noodles. Break noodle into 1/3's. Boil.
In another pot, brown your meat and drain. Add your sauce of choice and cheeses and such. For me, I really like the basic cottage cheese and mozzarella. Mix well and then add cooked noodles. Done. Eat. Enjoy.
It tastes exactly like you prepared and baked the traditional way. Only took less than half the time.
Boy, don't accidently hit a wrong button. There is no delete option anymore and you cannot get rid of a quote you didn't mean to quote without posting anyway.
Must be the fish over here. I rarely get fish with the belly hook. Well over 95% get the tail hook.
You can add a little flash to it by replacing with a gold hook. I replace my with #8's sometimes #10's on smaller cranks. I usually leave the belly hook as is except for adding a skirt to it.
This my set up on my solo.
I moved the seat back and lowered it. I also repositioned a thwart so that I can lay my rods on them and still be inside the canoe.
I can fit a full sized cooler in the very front and put my tackle bag in between me and the cooler.
I still have room for a trash bag and any miscellaneous items right behind the seat.
I think there are a few contributing factors. Land use practices and ozone. Too much fert and pesticides. And frog eggs are very sensitive to chsnges in ozone and the ultraviolet rays.
Did you finish it all? I can't wait to get back up there! I would have never thought that quality of food would come from a place like that!
Not banging against a Pub, but a Pub in a new shopping center in the middle of suburbia on the edge of town. Downtown in a 100 year old brick building? Yes of course!
Close!
Ranch dressing, homemade bacon bits, green onions, cheese, salt, pepper,
Mix all and refill tater. Add more bacon bits, green onion, and cheese to top. Reheat to melt.
1000x's better grilled!!
