  1. Now you're talking! LOL!!
  2. He is going on a fishing trip, not a camping trip. He has very limited space. If he was going camping I would agree.
  3. Good golly, he is spending the night, not moving in. LOL! For a two day trip in a toy canoe(sorry Red, thought it sounded funny)you don't need a ton of stuff. For food, I just pack sandwich meat and bread, some chips, and granola bars. I have a two gallon water jug I drink out of. I also have a small two man tent that will practically fold up into your back pocket that I toss in. Used to, a good thick sleeping bag would do me. But as my bones get older, I have been packing a blowup mattress. These fold down to nothing too. And are they worth the money! Just remember, the lighter you pack, since it is just one night, the better off you will be. Most of your time will be spent in the yak. This is not a camping trip. You don't need a lot of camping gear. And as JD said, pack some paper. Not for reading, for wiping! You can read at home. Enjoy a small fire with a good beverage and good thoughts about the day and the day ahead.
  4. Yeah, I saw a ton of them yesterday on the river. Along with a bunch of Drake Woodies too. Not to many hens.
  5. I think I understand now just why our government can't get anything done. Looks to be just a reflection of us. A dozen pages after a dozen days. And not one accomplishment.

  7. I have. I like the smoke the bacon and the jalapeno one.
  8. I'm not saying that's what they should do but it is obviously working for them. And for a bunch of mediocre kids there sure are a bunch of them from the tigers of move on to the NFL and they're starting too.
  9. Buffalo style is also pretty good
  10. Alright brother! They are actually pretty good. I like the smoke plain chipotle barbecue and jalapeno flavored. I do not like the bourbon or The maple syrup flavors.
  11. I was posting these pictures from my phone to see how it would work.
  12. Not even close Wayne. I stick with the smoked and the chipotle. Those are awesome even Al would like them! I actually chummed the water with these and immediately got me a can of chipotle! Interesting factoid, they produce 1 million cans a day of these.
  13. My point is those 3 and 4kids want to play on Sunday too. No matter their ranking all of them want to play in the NFL. College is but a stepping stone. The tigers have done very well sending kids to the NFL. The NFL scouts must see something the posters on this thread don't. How are those last two Heisman Trophy winners to come out of OU doing?
  14. We'll, other than being a little cockeyed, it worked.
  15. It does to the kids that want to eventually play on Sunday.
  16. Just to clarify Scott called me just moments ago and explained to me the procedure of how successful the program of using penned birds was in North Dakota,Georgia and another state. It wasn't using breeder birds as I had thought it was. But actual wild birds from the area. So that does make better sense to me. Thanks for the phone call and the clarification.
  17. Hey come on up, I'll drive and we will go to the places you listed and I will show you that the fence rows are not being cleared. I need to get out and do some scouting anyway. I haven't been to a couple of these places in a couple of months. I can't comment on what other states are doing but I do know that Missouri will never use penned birds to release into the wild. I would be interested in hearing why landowners hate the MDC.
  18. I have to strongly disagree with that Scott. The main reason the MDC will not ever use pen raised birds is that they will introduce disease and inferior genetics to be wild population. I haven't been to all of the MDC conservation areas but I have never seen one that has been cleared from fence to fence. Now at some of the river accesses they do keep those a little cleaner. And we must remember the MDC owns or manages less than 2% of the total land mass of the state of Missouri. That makes it very difficult to manage wildlife populations if the land owner does not want to participate in providing proper habitat. And they do have programs and will send an agent to your property to show how to properly manage your property for the advantage of the wildlife. They are just a phone call away. As far as predators they all got along just fine before we came along and fixed everything. LOL!
  19. Habit destruction being by far the greatest threat.
  20. I couldn't find the footage of it but Andrew Zimmern was on Elk River gigging suckers a year or two ago or so. I don't think it was a bonifide tourney. I think, from what I think I remember it was a group of guys, 5 or 10 boats that got together on a Friday or Saturday night. I think it was ever weekend during the season. http://www.travelchannel.com/tv-shows/bizarre-foods/travel-guides/the-ozarks?cat=see-do#map-scroll
  21. Thanks for proving my point on how well you pay attention.
