  1. I wonder which is more dangeous to our children.....Mountain Lions or drug dealers..........
  2. Then or now, it is still, and shall remain, legal.
  3. Beautiful fish! How'd ya do it? Huh, how'd ya do it????
  4. Sorry guy's. I forgot to post another film from yerster year. I have a handful more that I will post also. Grab a beverage and some snacks, this one is about a 1/2 hour long and YOU WILL NOT LEAVE YOUR SEAT! Although some of you may not like the ending!!!!
  5. As far as identification of the three goes, the only addition/change to Al's description is the Shadow will have blotching in vertical rows. The horizontal specks can be unbroken as in the northern also. The key is the blotching. The Ozark bass will have neither the blotching or the horizontal lines of specks. It will be as stated, freckled. Another key as mentioned, is knowing your watersheds. The west flowing waterways of SWMO will have both the Northern and Shadow. In addtion, these are also the only waterways in the state that also contain the Nesosho strain of smallmouth bass. The Ozark bass is found in the White River drainages of SWMO and some drainages that flow north into the Osage river. The Shadow also can be found in certain waterways of SEMO. The Northern can also be found is most north flowing streams the terminate in the Missouri River. I have to say, I live in the best area of the state for the varitety of fish that I can target. Shadow bass...check. Ozark bass...check. Northern Rock bass...check, Northern strain smallmouth...check. Nesosho strain smallmouth...check. Kentucky bass...check. Tame trout...check. Wild trout...check. And the list goes on... My favorite???...that would be two of them. I don't think you can catch a more beautiful fish than a Shadow bass. When you catch one that is displaying that awesome camo pattern, it is just really something to view. And I really enjoy spending the day chasing one of the rarest speices of bass in North America, the Neosho smallmouth.
  6. Click it on again and towards the top you will see a pop up warning. Click it and choose to download file.
  7. Yeah I have seen the web site but can't find that in the book. http://www.facebook....QBKZsjb3QtLirEm This is a list of all tickets written by the MDC for the 2011 year. Stoneroller was kind enough to pass it all to me. Seems as if they are a little busier than some want to give them credit for.
  8. I have seen signage posted at other trout waters concerning felt, but I don't believe it restricted the use of felt on those waters. It was more of a awarness of didy.
  9. Al, like wrench, I seem to find the Shadow in the upper reaches of the waterways around here. From a site I was reading the other day, it stated that the Missouri and upper Arkansas Shadow's were an isolated pocket from the rest of the population. I am of the belief though, that just as the Neosho found its way to this area from the Arkansas River, the Shadow my have also followed the same path.
  10. Well, the crawdad and glass thing should be common sense. Its kinda like getting upset over the ban on drinking and driving. I would venture to say that in reality, fishing, as we know it, is still pretty wide open. Sure you have limits on some species, and you have some restrictions on lures in certain areas, but we still have a lot of water that is wide open to do just about anything you want. And on a side note, I checked the current Wildlife Code book when it came out, and the only felt restiction I could find was in the trout parks themselves. Nothing was mentioned about the Red, White, and Blue trout waters. I have been waiting for someone to post about it but I guess it wasn't that important after all. Anyway, lets get a campfire and a beer and hash this out some more!
  11. Have you ever tried Fireline??? Not Crystal Fireline but "regular"?? Also check your Facebook. I couldn't PM you from here. Your box is full.
  12. Hey, why don't you pick me one up and I'll pay ya back. (someday)
  13. OK Al and eric, I am giving Power Pro another chance. I am having a trouble finding my Crystal Fireline. Academy and Wally seem to have quit carrying it. Plus PP is about half the price.
  14. If it is the pic I think it is, Al is on the right and mitch on the left and they were mooning the camera man.
  15. No you don't. You can tennis shoes too. I agree 100% with the rest of your post. I remember TU stopping or severely altering a land delevopers plans in AR just a few years ago. Why doesn't the MSA try to do this in Missouri???? What does this really have to do with transporting non-native species and dumping them and glass on rivers??? You are kinda flying all over the place.. Chief may not wear underwear.
  16. I don't believe there was any raw sewage involved. I think all it was, was a basin to hold storm water from inundating the waste water treatment plant. And yes, the company that built it is taking responsibilty.
  17. Except fat fingers typing on this little phone.
  18. I can't think of one regulation that has inconvienced me.
  19. Well, it is not a littering law, its the fact that humans are not smart enough to realize that things happen and glass breaks. Glass is sharp and will not only cut you but, will also cut and damage the wild critters that have to live where we like to play. If we could just make one law to outlaw idiots.... It is a shame we have to make a law to keep things as nature intended them to be because we are lazy. I have zero problems making law to protect wildlife and the outdoors. They don't have a voice. But you like fishing for trout here right??
  20. Thanks for the info fellas. I am pretty sure I am gonna end up with one of these. No zoom huh???? That kinda bites.
  21. Giggers!
  22. Anyone here use these??? Thinking about going that route and looking for some feedback.
  23. And has been for about as long as man has been fishing the Ozarks. Heck, I remember watching Virgil Ward showing this to the world via his aquarium back in the early 70's. And it wasn't earth shattering news then.
  24. Agreed. There is also a fishing show that is some kind of tourney with the pros and they weigh and release right in the boat. They also have a 1 minute penalty if you don't get the fish to the boat. Sounds like they are finally coming around. Yes this will very interesting for a number of reasons.
  25. Oh yeah..........
