  1. Actually the real rain didn't start until this afternoon. I looked at the river about 10:00 this morning and it looked great. I was thinking this was great and that we dodged a bullet. I am still hoping that this rain from the back spin of this front will not last. The ditches ain't running yet and I am keeping my fingers crossed! The plan is to meet at Limekiln. We will then make short shuttle to begin our float. Not sure how the fishing is going to be.
  2. It wasn't otters. That was JD's feeble attempt at humor while jabbing the MDC in the back. Very typical of him. Do like others and pay no attention.
  3. Speaking of weather, here is what we are looking at now. Severe storms Thursday. Clear cooler Friday, highs in the 50's. Saturday, clear, highs in the upper 50's. Sunday, clear high 65. SOOOOOO, if we get lucky again, we have dodged most of the rain and storms so far, and we don't get enough rain to blow it out, is 65* OK with you guys??? I won't say how the fishing will be but, I would bet this cold front is gonna put a hurt on them in the creeks. Maybe, maybe not. I have been on the verge of cancelling and moving to a date in May. Mid May due to turkey hunting and other fishing trips already scheduled. I have one member that I really want to come but, can't make any dates in May due to other commitments. So if you guy's want to risk it, I will wait until Friday evening to make the call. What say you????
  4. Let me clear that up for you. He is a flaming conservative republican.
  5. Don't pack your bags just yet. Looking at the forecast, rain Wed., severe storms Thurs., and rain Friday. I'll keep you updated.
  6. So, now just how many here do I need to get a ride for?? Ducky, stoneroller and jaycen?? Did I miss anyone???? woodman...still checking but pack your tent anyway. Any other questions???? Legit questions??????
  7. Went to Shoal Creek this weekend with Dylan and Buzz. Like always seems to be the case on this river, it takes the bass a little while to wake up. We hit the water about 9am but, it wasn't until almost 11am before they really started turning on. And speaking of turning, the wind blew so bad that is about all we did. 360's all day. There were many times you couldn't even cast for long stretchs. You just had to try and do what you could to keep some what aimed in a down stream direction. But if you could make a cast, you most likely would catch a fish. If it hadn't been as windy as it was, we would have caught a lot more fish. On time, Dylan and I were actually turned around and pushed back up the riffle we just came down! Dylan ended the day with about 15 and I had 8-10. They are hungry and they mean business. I am keeping a close eye on the weather. Things are really looking good for the Spring Float at this time. Highs are in the 70's and low 80's for as far as I can tell. There may be some rain this coming Sunday but, I think we should be ok for the float the following Sunday. I will keep you fellas updated. Until then, here are a few pics from the float.
  8. No doubt those were some nice fish. And the wind was butal Sunday. Nice job!
  9. Not quite. Those trying to cover their butt under the guise of humor and those trying to help them are the egg heads. If the shell fits.....
  10. You'll be fine. Hit it.
  11. The city has a RV/camping area right on Hickory Creek just about 1/2 mile from Limekiln. I think it may be about $10 a night. I'll check it out and let you know.
  12. Well Oprah was in the title of the clip. We just think you posted without watching it.
  13. I think you are right on Ham.
  14. You got it Mark.
  15. Well, that would be more appropriate I guess.
  16. Ahh. Running backwards and still shooting.
  17. Did you even watch this video? Or do you have something against women fly fishers?
  18. http://www.k-n-e-minnowtraps.com/ Or if you want to spend a little more for the best minnow trap on the market, check the following link: http://www.vmisales.com/glassminnowtrap/index.html
  19. Sorry to hear that Drew.
  20. Saltine crackers are the best and cheapest bait you can use. Are you getting one of wire mesh traps??? Although glass is best, look around for one made of clear plastic. You will catch some with the wire mesh but, nothing like you will with plastic.
  21. Did you just get layed off??? Very sorry to hear that. Are you bringing canoe or do you need ride??? I have a spare canoe that I could put you and Ducky in if you don't want to drag one all the way down here.
  22. But is it the bison causing the trouble or the Interstates?
  23. I'll find you a ride!
  24. I'm all for that!
