I can sell you the whole chicken for less than that. Dead or alive. All I need to know is what kind you want.

Hey way to go there Buzz. After I called you I ended up going down stream to a spot that sees little action even though it is practicaly next to the road. I was able to nail 5 drifting in under the cut bank. Man did they hit with power and authority! With the heavy fog and snow on the ground, it would have made some classic pic's! I was really surpised to see that many fishermen out hitting Hickory. I saw 4 flyrodders and 2 spinners Sunday. Maybe they all read OAF!

Well, see there, we do have something in common. When I lived in KC in the late 90' there was an all Jazz station that loved! Can't get that here.

Hey, very interesting guy's!!! http://www.cei.net/~dvines/tablrock.html#8 This may help with locating the boat. http://www.xumba.scholleco.com/viewtopic.php?t=22&start=30&sid=2b145437f1bf9cc6b59f3d50faddb86e This gives a pretty cool side view of the boat resting on the bottom. Anyway, you guys may already have this but, just thought I would pass it along. Best of luck in your search.

2009 Missouri Trout Odyssey--Day 3
Chief Grey Bear replied to Brian Wise's topic in General Angling Discussion
Well, you know, as a matter of fact I did. And since you have attacked my opinion from the get go, I don't understand why you are having trouble understanding it. I didn't see you attack matt for making fun of my screen name? Though nor did you see me crying about it either. I have an idea for you blog too.... I commend you on the nice spin you have spun. Classic! -

2009 Missouri Trout Odyssey--Day 3
Chief Grey Bear replied to Brian Wise's topic in General Angling Discussion
To be perfectly honest, I don't read your worthless blog. After reading that you enjoy taking pictures of your friends steaming poop on the banks of Roaring River, I quickly lost interest. Someone had sent me that quote. I have to laugh though. How funny it is that a little shithole stream kicked your butt. Twice. Maybe you are not the high caliber fishermen you make yourself out to be. -
2009 Missouri Trout Odyssey--Day 3
Chief Grey Bear replied to Brian Wise's topic in General Angling Discussion
"Hickory Creek is a dung hole. I won’t even begin to sugar-coat it. There are no fish in that stream, unless the hatchery truck comes and dumps them in there. And when that happens, all the “trout fisherman” come out of the hills to load up the freezer and as quickly as the fish were stocked they are gone. In two trips, we never even so much as saw a fish (although I think Wise got a take there last year). To be super blunt, I don’t really care if I ever lay eye on the town of Neosho, Missouri. It is just too darn hard to get to, and there isn’t much trout fishing to be had there. In short, Hickory Creek ranks up there with the Urban Trout Program in my book. Nothing more than a stream grocery store. And with that we turned our backs on Hickory Creek and headed toward Roaring River State Park." I wouldn't get too upset about it guy's. Just remember who it is providing the commentary. -
Oh crap you are right. Mentioning Walt jogged my memory. I forgot that I had recieved an email from him about it.

Hey Andy I agree. There is some great river fishing in KS. You just have to know where.

Okuma Fly Reel
Chief Grey Bear replied to Nighthawk's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
I agree with all that these are great reels. If you do indeed purchase one, you won't regret it. On a side note, is there anyone here that sell Okuma parts? I broke the reel seat/foot, and though I have looked at numerous sites, most of them are very hard to navigate and finding pricing can be even tougher. Or if you know of a site that you won't get lost in, I would appriciate it. -
I'm Really, Really Sick Of This...
Chief Grey Bear replied to Al Agnew's topic in Conservation Issues
You are splitting hairs. To put all giggers vs. only Lake bass fishermen in anattempt to prove your futile argument is absurb and bordering on delusional. You know as well as I do that in the last thread you were pointing the finger at rod and reel poachers as cleaning out the creeks and rivers of smallmouth. Now you are pointing at giggers. The only reason I brought up bass boats and the electronics they have today is that Al suggested that the MDC should have been keeping an eye on giggers and their advancments in lights for the last 30 years. Maybe the same should be said about other electronics too. But boy you talk about causing a stink with that. Anyway, positive discussion on this subject ended long ago and I am done with it too. -

Fishing with rods and reels is largely catch and release? That ain't what you were screaming in the last thread. -

Sorry I am late. I am having computer issues and haven't been here in a couple of days. If I were in charge of the MSA I would be all over the problems that are being discussed here and in the other thread. How? Just like I suggested to Matt. Get your troops(members) active. It is time for either a emergency meeting or get this addressed and get ideas rolling in the next monthly meeting. I personally like the idea of getting at least 20 members active enough to be interested in donating one Saturday a month to the cause. Just as I suggested before. And lets say we have done just that. Now I think we need to schedule meetings at different towns along the waterways that we consider to be a problem. By having groups of 5 members, or for meetings we could even do two member teams and thus do, say, two meetings per weekend in different areas. Now in these meetins I would try to establish the importance of why the regulations are the way they are and how they can benifit all. Don't make it a bully session. Make it a learning session for all. Ask to the local MDC to attend with you and provide additional stats and info. This is only one idea. If we would put all of heads together we could hatch more. And that seems like a better use of time then continually wasting time saying why things cant' be done. Throw it away if you want Al but, what good will it do to add more laws and restrictions on those that are breaking the law and restrictions now? Before jumping all over giggers and their fancy lights, lets not forget the major advancments in electronics in these fancy bass boats buzzing up and down the lake at God knows what speed. -
Hey you can do the same with peas too. 3 cans peas or greenbeans drained 1 can Cream of Mushroom soup 2 strips bacon crumbled (I also add about a Tbs of bacon drippings) salt and pepper to taste When using greenbeans you may also add wild rice and French's fried onions. Though I do like the Walmart Great Value brand better. warm in the oven or put on smoker for 2-3 hours depending on amount of smoke for taste.

I'm Really, Really Sick Of This...
Chief Grey Bear replied to Al Agnew's topic in Conservation Issues
A river without its tributaries is just a trickle of water. Nothing more than the ditch in front of your house after a rain. A river must have contributions from all avenues, i.e. springs, smaller creeks, nutrients from the land, a balance of forage, and the list goes on, to work, to grow, to become a rich, vibrant living organism. The most vocal on the subject of saving the smallmouth from a fictitious demise want to inflict severe limitations statewide on all fisherman, even though you have admitted to actually fishing very little, and at that, fishing only a limited number of waters. And yet, claim to be in the majority. Anyway, there is no jumping the gun on a subject such as this. There is no chronological order which things have to be completed. -

I read it correctly the fist time at regular speed. I think it is you that needs to do a reread. At a speed you are comfortable with. I think this thread is dead now. It seemed to die out just like the last one a couple of weeks ago. Isn't it interesting that these type threads will gone forever but, a thread that is about being pro-active and contributing thoughts and ideas about taking it to the next level, dies very quickly. And think we all know why. -

If you weren't so hell bent on doing nothing but complaining......uh.....Look...... if you would use the same amount of time and energy thinking of constructive ways of combating the problem as you do concocting reasons why you can't, you would most likely stand a better chance of fixing the problem. At least somewhat. Again, I will offer some thoughts. Maybe this time you build upon them instead of continualy tearing them down. Nobody is talking about HARASSING anyone. A simple 5 minute converstation will suffice. All you simply have to do is start with a little small talk like we all have, and before departing just let them know that this area is known for Wildlife Code violations and that your group is keeping it under surveillance. Let them know that you work as a group and you also have the local agent on speed dial. Now don't do this in any type of threatening tone, just normal conversation tone. Don't forget, I have lumped in two threads with one thought. Last week it was "regular" fisherman that were taking all of the brownies on opening weekend. So I am saying that if you ran a few local access' a couple of times a month for one summer, the word would be out. Anyway, it is not as hard to figure something out as you are making it out to be. I do appriciate the invitation to go swimming. I don't take too kindly to threats, so anytime they would like to talk about it, I will more than happy to oblige. -

I see you did a complete edit of your post after I posted a response. This is not the post I responded to. Anyway just one more observation, those that appear to do the most posting here, always claim to have zero time for the cause. I thought the point at hand was to find a solution to a precieved problem or set of problems. Was the point only to complain and cast blame?
