9lb-- you may think they are boring to catch but they are great to eat :-)
Bass are bedding very good on TR right now. Water temps were 62 yesterday on TR, stockton cant be far behind. Sat water temps out of Mutton were 55.
We were on Big Sac arm. Fishin steeper banks no points. 18-22 fow.
I tie my own harnesses. Didnt seem to matter what color the spinner and beads were. We caught them on yellow/orange, green, silver. On indiana blades and willow leaf blades.
Fished around Hawker Point last Saturday. Found fish very deep 30-40 ft. Trolled up 5 large whites and 10 keeper crappie that were about to burst with eggs. Tried spooning them but they only wanted small cranks at about 30 fow.
Fishing Friday and Saturday around mid lake. Spending the night so I thought we may set some hooks. Probably limb lines or noodles. Any suggestions on bait and depth? Or is it still to early?
Got out for a few hours today. Caught a limit of crappie. Everything caught in less than 8 fow on swimming minnows. Changed colors a couple times. Caught about 10 short fish also. Water temp was as high as 64 by my temp gauge. Crappie were 10.5" to 14" long.
We fished Thursday afternoon between CC hwy ramp and 160 bridge. We caught 30 whites 2 crappie and a few small largemouth. Most of these came on swimming minnows and rattletraps. Friday we fished Sons Creek near Greaser creek I believe. Only caught 12 whites, 1 crappie and several largemouth to 16in. on swimming minnows and traps again. The whites were larger out on the lake than up the creek. Water temps at Sons were 49-52.
My fishing partner had the state record a few years ago. He caught it when we were fishing for walleye with bottom bouncers and minnows in the Barker Hole. I caught one last week near Beaver and catch a few every year while bottom bouncing around Lead Hill with spinners and crawlers. Wish I could catch more.
I have caught a lot of whites in Fellows in the past ten years. Didnt know they were there until friend turned me on to them. Dont know when they put the pipeline in.
