  1. Sorry to hear that trambia. I bought my boat two years ago and after two trips the motor threw a rod. Had to buy another. Now it is having some oil issues. Danny is working on it this week.
  2. Glad to hear you got into some walleyes, NXS. Hope they will be picking up more soon .
  3. We saw a kind of strange thing today while fishing around Beaver creek. We were in the back of a small cut and there was some scum/trash on the water. As we got close to it, we noticed there were several(maybe 7-10) apparently dead crappie about 4-5 inches long laying on top of this scum/trash. When we got close enough to one to poke it with a rod tip, it took off. Each one we touched took off and did not return. Has anyone run into something like that before? I just thought it was kind of strange.
  4. Nice Fish!! What part of the lake were you fishing? I will be going down there in a couple weeks.
  5. Went out of Beaver creek from 11am til 6pm. We tried white bass fishing up beaver creek for a while and only caught two whites and one 15 in walleye. We decided to go back to the main lake and fished Jigs for bass. Between 4 of us we caught 50 bass ( smallies, kentuckies and largemouth) only 4 were keepers though. Had a ton of fun. Most bass came in less than 10 fow.
  6. Went to Beaver today. Not to bad up the creek. Not clear but it was not muddy just a little murky. Only Caught 5 whites about 2lbs a piece. Did see a few others caught also.
  7. Great seminar!! Thanks to all involved.
  8. Tranthams in Springfield use to carry them. Thats the closest place I know.
  9. Thanks fellas. Those are some good ideas that I will try.
  10. As most of you that fish Table Rock, I use a ton of plastics through the year. I have always had issues finding the best way to organize them in my boat. I usually end up with a couple of plastic bags that I throw all my bags of finess worms, grubs, etc. in. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to organize these better? Thanks.
  11. I have been lurking around keeping an eye on you guys Just getting all the honey dos out of the way before real good weather gets here. Was glad to actually have something worthwhile to report.
  12. Fished from 9am to 430pm around the greenfield access. Caught 11 whites,1 keeper crappie and a ton of short largemouth. Only had one largemouth that would measure and it was 16in. We caught everything in the channel from 7-15ft. Mostly on jigs, had one white and a couple of largemouth on crankbaits. Temp gauge on DF was not working but it did seem like the fishing picked up better in the afternoon.
  13. Nice pics Martin. Is that you in the last picture?
  14. I use cranks that will troll anywhere from 15-20ft deep. My ersonal favorite collors are white, purple and firetiger. Good luck.
  15. Jason, I have been catching some around Point 5 and 7 I believe on the Mutton Creek flats right at dark. That has been about a week ago though. Also caught some on down the lake toward the dam on a couple different points. Good Luck.
  16. You are the MAN, Martin!! Way to go on the lower end TR walleyes. So when are you going to start guiding for walleyes???
  17. I was down there last weekend and wore out the walleyes but we only saw a few whites surfacing. Gonna try it again this weekend at some point. I love catching and eating walleye but you are right it would be tough to keep walleye fishing while the whites are busting.
  18. Kind of tough morning for us. We fished from K dock down to the mincy flats. Saw a little white bass action early but no luck. Caught a couple of short walleyes on nightcrawlers and spinner rigs. Then trolled crankbaits for a while and caught a couple more short walleyes, a 14 in crappie, a 10 inch yellow perch, a short smallie and 1 keeper white. Most of the fish we did find were between 22 and 27ft.
  19. Went yesterday morning out of Rockaway caught 10 nice bluegill on flyrod, 3 crappie on jigs and two whites on topwater in back of coves and in bull creek.
  20. Nice fish, Martin!! I seemed to have misplaced the invitation to a fish fry
  21. When I moved here from down south several years ago, I was lucky enough to hire a guide, Tim Paige, a couple times. He shortened my learning curve along with the help of forums like this and others and a few other helpful ozarks experienced fisherman. I would say it would be worth the money and time.
  22. Looks like a great trip!! Congrats!!
  23. lilley, I agree with you. My wife and I were out of Baxter Friday morning and had several awesome blowups that we did not get and she was getting frustrated. I told her thats why I love topwater fishing at least you get a visual on strikes. I enjoyed watching 4 or 5 bass fighting for the bait all the way to the boat even when none hooked up. Don't get me wrong I love the hookups too!!
  24. Hey Martin, I knew about LB's record being broken. MDC notified him of it shortly after the new record came in. You must be right about the flatheads. I fished the Baxter area today caught several short bass, some rock bass and bluegill and one 5.5lb flathead caught on a swimming minnow on a chunk rock point. May have to try the trotline and limb lines.
  25. Congrats!! Sounds like some good eating
