  1. I now have some coming (6 1/2 footers)so I'm going to give them a try. A gentelman in El Dorado, KS makes them. I got 4 of them for $25. I will let you know, everyone seems to like them that I've talked to, also seems there are several here that like them also.
  2. Anybody tried or used any of them, good or bad. Looks like a good (old) idea that has been around a while.
  3. H20 is the best thing you can drink, and I drink a lot of H20. Nothing better, as grandpa said.
  4. On the orvis site they are having a sale on everything including reels, I just had to order one...BATTENKILL LARGE ARBOR III IN Black for $148, I didn't think this was to bad of a deal.. I got it and I'm sending it back, just not my cup of tea, going to look at the mid arbor III...
  5. I was rated a hardcore conservative as I am.....
  6. The place we stayed at was at Brown's Park Store & R.V. Park the address is in Maybell,CO but it's a ways west from Maybell to Brown's Store in the middle of nowhere 1 mile from the Utah line in NW CO. great country. As a matter of fact I might just end up there about the 9th of Aug. Taking my yearly motorcycle trip to CO,WY & MT we will see how our trip goes and where we end up.
  7. I was in the area a couple of years ago, some kind of country for sure..I hope we are talking about the same Green River in south western WY correct?
  8. I was at the Buffalo at Ponca Wed. very low at the old low water bridge....looks like a drag to me, it may come up? Maybe, maybe not. There was 3' of air space at the old low water bridge, not good. I've been floating the Buf sence the early 70's when nobody else was. my .02
  9. Just checking has anyone else ever been there.
  10. Do you have a coin we can flip, there is no pattern.
  11. If you do float from ponca to pruitt or where ever and you see a orange goosedown coat size L it's mine. I lost it floating in the spring of 1974, it rained, and it rained and it rained on us for 3 days and nights a cold one for sure. Some how it got away from me on a late dark take out on the first night. Man I sure had fun when I was a kid on that river, not a worry in the world...
  12. A Bosch system works very well, once you get it dialed in..
  13. Deleted post....
  14. Good read.. I sometimes feel the same way. But I wake up.
  15. Yes, works great in the areas with lots of brush behind for the tight roll cast also.

  17. When I hooked into the first 15" bow at Roaring River this weekend, without question I had to work it to land the fish for sure, this was the largest fish I have caught on it (heart thumper for sure). It has the back bone to do it, with glass it's just different. I found the balance very well, really. You will not be disappointed.
  18. 5wt line works well
  19. I went to Roaring River Sat.(price was right) for most of the day a took along the little Eagle Claw 7' 5/6 to see how I would like it on trout in this condition, it roll casts very well....well I ended up using it all day and had a blast. Caught a couple of 15" but mostly the 12". I may have to get another one in case this one breaks. I just can't see using my 9'rod there!! I would like to get a 7'-6" in a nice rod, there's a lot of them to choose from. My next trip to RR I'm going to go talk to Tim up on the hill, I visited him in the AM, he has a nice shop and very knowledgable.
  20. This is the free MO weekend again, went to RR today did pretty well on a Y2K

  23. I got one in the 7' 5/6 wt and love it on the small out of the way smallmouth streams. I still can't believe they are that nice for a $18 dollar bill, throws 5 wt line great....
