Both Larry's and Sand Springs is Good. Also might look into NRO they now have Cabins including a couple on 64 HWY. Not sure on details. oneshot

Went to the river today hoping to catch some Suckers. Didn't catch a one. River is still up and looks like we're going to get rain off and on for awhile. oneshot

Ok how long do Common Carp have to be here before they will be considered Native? They were imported here from Germany in 1875. Here in Missouri in the '60's I remember as a Kid going to Pay Lakes with my Grandfather catching Common Carp. Bought so many Pound Tickets, if you caught over the weight on your Ticket you paid so much a pound. Back then you could find Carp in many Grocery Stores in the Meat Department. Carp is one fish you can count on catching regular with right Bait and Rigging and will present a person with hours of fishing fun, you will not find a harder fighting fish you can catch on a Regular basis. My Grandson with his first ever Carp and can't wait to catch more. oneshot

Any One Snagging At The Dam
oneshot replied to big blue fever's topic in Bagnell Dam Tailwater/Lower Osage River
Yes they stack up at the Dam. Lots of people go just below 54HWY with Surf Rods, snag from the bank. Far as eating Spoonbill. My Inlaws always fried them. I found I like them better seasoned and Grilled. oneshot -
Well now that young Lady has me beat. I have Fly Rod have yet to catch a Trout with it, have caught with Spinning Rod but not with Fly Rod. Congratulations Ivey! oneshot

I was using Worms. Have caught Redhorse Suckers there too. Have used Roadrunners for Goggle Eye on upstream. Have used Worms below 64 HWY Bridge for Goggle Eye. Get in warmer water on the river can catch about anything. Have seen people fishing for Channel Catfish on downstream and catch Trout. Didn't have Trout Permit and have to turn them back. River is up today, hoping to go Sucker Fishing Monday. Was Baptized in the river. Loved the river figure living most my last days along it. When I leave this world my Friends and Family are going to have BBQ and Dance and while no one is looking I might be feeding the fish. oneshot

Ok two different times. When Park Ranger got on to us was during C&R. We was fishing for Goggle Eye. Couple Guys was on the rocks on West side, casting towards the Bridge in the spring, plus they was on Park side of the sign. The Park Ranger made them move on other side of the sign. Told us all not to be casting towards the Bridge. That was all that was done. Yesterday I was on river side of the sign. Had one Rod rigged for Suckers and another for Trout. Wasn't having any luck catching Suckers so I caught enough Trout for Lunch and left. I did have Trout Permit. Guy came next to me from the Park caught a Trout. Not wanting him to get in trouble asked him if he realized he was outside the Park and needed a Trout Permit? He didn't and thanked me and went back into the Park. oneshot

Bought Daily Tag twice in my life. Don't intend to fish the park. Funny I know of Guys that have fished the Park catching Limits several times changing their looks. Never worked. I sure don't care for Trout that much. But Goggle Eye, Smallies and Suckers that is a different matter. Just got my Boat ready for the river so will be fun soon. oneshot

Like I say we was along the river casting towards the Bridge letting it drift towards the river, we weren't fishing for Trout most were past the sign. It was during Catch and Release. Park Ranger wasn't being hard about it, just asked everyone not to do it. I just asked him about the East Side of the spring where there is no sign. Like he said just line up with the sign on other side. No problem. oneshot

Well it was the first time I had been there fishing for Trout and caught 3 which was fried about an hour ago. Just giving something to fry up until Suckers start biting. While I was down there did have one Rod rigged for Suckers. As far as our Freezer trying to get rid of Chickens and Tame Rabbits before Snagging Season. They told me they didn't know it wasn't the Park and yes they was fishing for and catching Trout. Yes I remember very well when it was middle of the river being Park. Me and several others were catching Goggle Eye casting from the gravel corner towards the Bridge. Park Ranger just told us to quit or he would write us a Ticket. He made a couple Guys move over the Line then set back at a distance watching. oneshot

Ok we was threaten with receiving a Ticket casting towards the Bridge from the river just outside the Park but was down there yesterday. People were setting along the river which is no longer the Park, using Park Permit and no Trout Permit. Am I wrong but shouldn't they receive a Ticket as well? oneshot

Yes I heard same today. Plus seems many Outfitters are upset with this New Bill preventing leaving Canoes while floating. oneshot
-
Not sure but the one I talked to said they was working on getting things up and rolling. Sounded like soon. oneshot

Went by Circle J's seen people in there so we stopped. Seems the Buyer is going to get things going and people are going to be able to get to their Trailers. oneshot

Howdy neighbor we didn't even go to Church. This morning is first time out not many stirring down that way. oneshot

Might be a bit early. Not sure on ice, last week or so even the Ponds were mostly open so I figure it should be open. oneshot

Ok I have a Older Light Action Rod and Reel I found. Have used it many years and like the stiffness of the Rod setting the Hook. Yesterday I bought a Ultralight Action Combo, told my wife I would have rather got a Light Action but couldn't find one. She said just take the Reel off the Ultralight Rod and put it on the Light Action Rod. Should I do this or just go ahead and try the Ultralight Rod? oneshot

Got to agree. At first I thought they was holding fish back before redoing the Hatchery. Then I thought well they are working on the Hatchery. Got done with it I thought well they are just trying to catch up. I have to agree last few years no matter how the river is the Trout are not there. If they do like last year first of the season for couple weeks caught largest Trout I ever had. Once they were caught out Nothing! Use to be Winter you could go anywhere on the river all Winter long and catch Trout. This Winter I caught two and one of them was where the spring comes into the river. I have seen the river Low and Clear before, yes Trout School in holes but being clear you can see them. I haven't seen any Trout. Something is going on and I don't like it. Getting away from Trout and fishing for other species. Another thing yes they are stocking the spring, what has been hollered about very loudly but nobody is listening is small Fish. Won't being doing this again until changes are made. oneshot

Funny I find Trout at Taney just as easy to catch. But much closer considering the Niangua River is 5 miles from my house. I'll have my Limit and Home before you get started. oneshot

My Son has been fishing from the Dock talked with him couple days ago and says he hasn't caught anything. oneshot

Ok when I was young I would fish Tanneycomo every weekend. This was back when there was around 300 people living in Branson. Liked eating the Trout from there with the Red Meat. We live next to the Niangua River and was catching Trout out of there, most part not Fresh Stockers. Enjoyed eating them. Me and my wife went to Branson. I caught nice Trout with the nice Red meat I remembered. Cooked them up told my wife she was in for a treat. This is the truth. We was eating, we looked at each other at the same time, neither of us could tell the difference in taste. At that time couldn't see just driving 80 miles for the same thing I catch out of the river. But if I'm down there still go fishing. oneshot

Might just do that. I told my Son I'm going to try visit him after it warms up and I can get away. oneshot
