I feel they need to be accountable and I just don’t see any. If one were to invest in a stock and they only see an audit every 4 years well it’s way to late to do much about anything and WAM your broke! Every company I have every worked for did a statement and an audit every year! I even noticed my city and my county has a yearly statement audited why should I expect less of the MDC? These controls are in place for everyone’s protection. If upfront and honest there is nothing to hide but when one hides behind a 4 year audit there is a mound of paper work to hide or misplace and no one is accountable. But that’s just my opinion. CC I bet your state even dose an audit every year?

John, I have called several times. I have an idea! You might call in as an average Joe and ask a few questions and I would guess you would get the same run around I have got. I have asked what land has been acquired after the 1/8-cent tax and how much land is owned and is their public access. Well all I get told is go to a meeting and ask there! Also I wanted to know about handicap access. Well my friend try and fish on the handicap dock below the dam and you will need a badge and gun to get on it. We need more for them and we need more respect for them. There are a lot of questions that get pushed under the carpet. I also have a name and it is my user name and I am proud of it. I am the one that started this topic and I have questions as to where the money has went and I also have questions to drawing over 1 million in interest. I fully understand what kind of money it takes to draw that much interest. So you have large reserves. Then for one why would cut our trout limit and raising the tags. I for one feel it was for adding to the large pool of cash reserves! Second where dose the monies go from the huge amounts of timber that’s being sold off. And that brings another question? Why are we cutting down them large trees? And why are we spending money elsewhere to preserve them. I can and will talk about all this if you would like to! Your sportsman friend, Jesse

CC Amen to that. I have preached that all my life and all I have to show for buying American is an empty pocket. But as I have seen in my life, and I am ashamed to say, Greed is wining the war.

One day a fisherman was lying on a beautiful beach, with his fishing pole propped up in the sand and his solitary line cast out into the sparkling blue surf. He was enjoying the warmth of the afternoon sun and the prospect of catching a fish. About that time, a businessman came walking down the beach, trying to relieve some of the stress of his workday. He noticed the fisherman sitting on the beach and decided to find out why this fisherman was fishing instead of working harder to make a living for himself and his family. "You aren't going to catch many fish that way," said the businessman to the fisherman, "you should be working rather than lying on the beach!" The fisherman looked up at the businessman, smiled and replied, "And what will my reward be?" "Well, you can get bigger nets and catch more fish!" was the businessman's answer. "And then what will my reward be?" asked the fisherman, still smiling. The businessman replied, "You will make money and you'll be able to buy a boat, which will then result in larger catches of fish!" "And then what will my reward be?" asked the fisherman again. The businessman was beginning to get a little irritated with the fisherman's questions. "You can buy a bigger boat, and hire some people to work for you!" he said. "And then what will my reward be?" repeated the fisherman. The businessman was getting angry. "Don't you understand? You can build up a fleet of fishing boats, sail all over the world, and let all your employees catch fish for you!" Once again the fisherman asked, "And then what will my reward be?" The businessman was red with rage and shouted at the fisherman, "Don't you understand that you can become so rich that you will never have to work for your living again! You can spend all the rest of your days sitting on this beach, looking at the sunset. You won't have a care in the world!" The fisherman, still smiling, looked up and said, "And what do you think I'm doing right now?"

You know we had a war over taxes years ago. I would hate to see that happen again! I ask my CPA a few years ago what the avg American paid in taxes and WOW it will piss ya off. He said if you start from scrach like grain, wood, metal ore things like that. And worked it up from start to finish encluding land fill it was 93% That encluded trucking, mfg, wholesale, retail sales tax. trash truck employees and all! So I say we need to just give the last 7% to them and call it good!!!!!!!!!! Go back to the caveman and indains ways!!!!

I have been telling people buy american all most all of my live. I have talked, preached and yelled. Save yours and your loved ones jobs. Look out for tomorrow and next year. I was the fool that always throwed my money away buying american made. But now people are starting to see what I seen years ago. Its almost to late to try and buy american. Tools, cars, tv's, radio's, cd players, tires, vacum cleaners, tosters, washers and dryers! And I havn't even started to make a scratch in the list. I don't know of much of anyting anymore. It was a loosing battle and I lost as did my family and yours. Maybe a few jig heads however just where do you think they bought the hooks from? Steel mills have closed. Foundrys are a thing of the past also. It really consernes me but then what did I know. No one wants mfg in their area but hey walmart and target is ok. Wake up america. We need better jobs and service is not where thair at. Hvy ind. is the heart of jobs and we sold the out for cheeper!

Missouri has 68886 square miles of land times 640 square acres per mile = 44087040 acres little over 44 m. Now in 30 years of the 1/8 cent tax 100 m. a year times 30 years = 300 m. 1000.00 dollors per acre avg over 30 years. I get about 300 thousand acres! not counting acres pre 1/8 tax acres. Dose anyone know just how much land MCD Owns? I haven't a clue and I have been reserching and no one knows. I Called them on the phone and was told they didnt really know. And is it open for us to use? HELLO People wake up!!!!! I am not against MDC however should they be incressing our cost and cutting limits? Hummm there is something really wrong with that thought. I also have been looking in to there spending and people in SE Missouri should be more than pleased. There is more spent there than anywhere else in missouri. They spend a very small percent of their bubget on stocking fish.

I think all of this would just go away on its own if US fishermen would have a little more resepct for the land owners land and not trash or distroy it. I would say if you see a bottle, can, worm box or so on just pick it up. Soon it would be clean and the land owner would be happy. Plus we would have a nice looking place to fish!!! JMO
