  1. I moved here 4 years ago from the dark water in western Kansas and learned that fishing deep is a whole new world. It took me 2 years to finally see the error in my ways. The best thing I invested in was a good graph. The fishing equiptment is very important but locating the fish has been the most productive thing for me. Just one guys opinion.....
  2. I hear what you are saying about the clear water and taking time to adjust. I am from the SW corner of Kansas so mudding water is all I know. Figured out how important electronics are for that deep clear water. Just keep prayer the whites will make a run like the good old days at the Bull. I hear it can be awesome. As far as the walleyes, we have had a little luck fishing jigs or trolling. Have yet to find a good pattern. Tough to learn so much about two lakes at the same time. Keep me posted on what you find and what is working......
  3. The poor weather pattern will make things tough this time of year, but the best is yet to come. Spring can see a real up-swing in the fishing activity. The walleye will soon be moving and there are lots of oppoortunities from a boat or the bank. If we ever get a good white bass run like the past (I have been here 3 years and haven't seen it yet), they say it can be awesome. I am from Kansas myself and I am trying to adjust to the different styles here in the Ozarks. What part of Ks are you from? Good fishing
  4. When the guys talk about fish exploding on the bait and missing it, they are so true. Don't pause, but keep it moving. Fishing with the Freak 2 months ago and he had 2 fish explode on the same bait 6 different times before one finally ate it. A real rush to see. Keep the motion and bring the commotion!
  5. Thanks for the information Bill. Sounds like the Rock is rolling.
  6. My X17 came with a skimmer but I changed it to the puck. Feel I have better cone control with the puck. Either will do the trick but play with both and see what you like best.
  7. To bad the Freak ate them without including his fishing buddies on the feed. You could have brought the fish and I would have brought the tots. Would have been tastey!!
  8. Have battled the Hybrid for a lot of years back home. They can pull with the best of them and they never give up. Have netted two fish around the 15lbs range. Both were on the line for at least 20 minutes. Puts fisherman and tackle to the test.
