7 lbs won the tournament???? Heck, I could have caught that much with my eyes closed, casting over my shouder, while being pulled behind the boat on a wake board!!!! Sound familar? Guess I beat ol' Trav to the punch!!!

Started sleeting in STL around 2:15 and they are predicting 6-10" after the sleet is finished this evening.

Ditto what these guys said.......maybe one of the certified casters on here will chime in with some additional info as well. I like the palsa indicators, but when it is really windy, I use the small cork indicators (pear shaped) that you insert a toothpick to hold in place......and sometimes you will have to use them regardless of the wind conditions, for heavy/weighted flies. Fishing in very windy conditions is difficult and like Dano said, start out casting a short distance and continue out, so you do not miss out on any fish in front of you.

Fished just outside Maramec Spring from 10-2:30 today. Brought 9 bows to hand and lost 2 (1-17" and 1-18"). All caught on red san juan, black ant (they like that one), black/yellow jig.....tried others but nothing else worked. They were hammering the floating black ant! Was a BEAUTIFUL day out.....decided to go at the last minuted and I am glad I did!!

Appologize to all the Gordon fans........was kinda cool to see Gordon spin out and crash!!!

Interesting! Very cool if they are accurate. I'm with Slider.....if gas prices continue to rise, I won't be able to go as much as I would like. I heard the wonderful media say that gas will be at $4 gallon this spring! If we could shut the media up, we would all be much better! I agree with freedom of speech, but the media is very powerful and has a lot of influence on the public.

Not my favorite, but a funny story.......Last year we went camping at Bennett Spring during spring break and I took my daughters fly fishing. Was very warm that week and we had a great time. My 13 yr old (was 12 at the time) was with me and she caught a nice bow. When she took the hook off, I told her to pose for a picture. Well.....the fish decided he was going to wiggle out of her hands and jump towards her. She stepped back and as she did, she slipped on a rock and kerplunk!! She didn't go all the way under, just enough to get her shirt wet. We were both laughing....well I was and then she started too. When we turned around, there was the sign...."Caution, Deep Water"!! No, I am not mean.....she got me back by out fishing me!

I have one that I bought from Cabellas years ago.....not sure of the brand, but it is similar to what is described above. Definitely need padding or some type of tubing or it will dig into your neck after a while. I still use it every now and then, but prefer zingers. Will have to think about adding some padding and then I might use it more.

Just a 1/4" of snow/ice in STL, but just a few miles south they were hit hard with snow/ice
