  1. Personally I agree with Rusty...when I have time, I go, no matter what the weather is, etc. However, I am interested to see what others say about solunar, barometric pressure, etc
  2. Nice report CP! Sounds like you had a productive day!
  3. Now all we need is GB and #4 to beat the Giants!! Would love to see the Chargers and Green Bay!
  4. Jason, mine must be lost in the mail, since I mailed them over 2 weeks ago. I will tie some more tonight. Can you pm me your address again.

    Mr. Ducky

Mr. Ducky, have no fear, there are many praying for your family! My wife had a c section with all 3 of our children (now teenagers) without any issues! The recovery period is a little longer (thankful I am not a woman) and she will need assistance getting around, but she will be fine. Don't worry, take the time to enjoy the moment....before you know it, Landon will be a teenager! If they let you, tell them you want to watch, I did with all three (if your stomach can handle it). Sounds gross, but it was a beautiful experience, that I will never forget. The doctor asked me when our first was born and I asked with the other two.
  9. Nice report King Fish! I think I saw that same couple last weekend and they were catching quite a few fish also. They were fishing just upstream from the dam when I saw them. I fished all day in my Chota's as well and they are GREAT! My feet would have been bothering me in my BP boots if I fished all day. We'll have to get together with some of the STL guys and all make a trip some day to fish together!
  10. Welcome Point12! Ditto what Thom said!
  11. CF, did some home repairs this morning and you are right, I could/should have done something for my fellow man, like Thom who went to a food pantry, but I worked 52 hours this week and I just decided to relax and watch a football game. After using my brain all week, ocassionally I like to take a day and do nothing! I would prefer to spend those "do nothing" days fishing, but I do not live that close to water and cannot afford the gas/lodging that often. Ok? Now I am going to go back to watching the second football game, reading posts on OA and talking to my daughters.
  12. What a great game though....really cool with the snow!
  13. JobyKSU, that's funny.....I was thinking the same thing! When Kenny Albert started, I couldn't believe it....guess they can't find anything better.
  14. Phil, finally caught up with my neighbor this morning....they go to Manistee, Michigan the second week of October to fish for salmon. He said they are still running at that time and last year they brought back 250lbs of salmon.
  15. Welcome! Good folks and a lot of good info on this site!
  16. To all OAF members.....Phil Lilley will be in St. Louis to discuss trout fishing on Taneycomo, January 16th at Queeny Park. Here is the description from the flyer that was in the STL County Journal a couple weeks ago: "Lake Taneycomo has a worldwide reputation as one of the greatest trout waters anywhere! Perhaps the best angler on the lake is Phil Lilley. He has been fishing and guiding on Taneycomo for a long time and will be providing you the information you need to be a successful angler. Even grizzled old timers can learn a bagful of tricks from this accomplished angler. Don’t miss this very popular program. Tickets for this program are only available at the door at a cost of $6.00 per person. 7:30-9:30pm" I have attended this seminar the past couple of years and Phil does a GREAT job. 17. Already voted last night......724 Outdoors. Just kidding!
  18. flyfishmaster, is that the same tool that flyfishinggolfer uses? brittsnbirds and others, I always wet my line also before pulling tight...not sure why they were breading. Maybe I had a bad leader. Thanks for the help guys.
  19. Man, there are tornado warnings from Tim's place all the way up 44 near Rolla....stay safe!!
  20. Nice Fish!! Thanks for the report....stay safe!
  21. The key was small, smaller and smallest....I also heard that from others on the water. I wish I would have tied some 20-24 before we went.
  22. My parents gave me a pair of Simms L2 for xmas and they were very narrow, so I returned them for a pair of Chota STL Plus. Wore them this weekend.....fished for 6 1/2 hours and they are as comfortable as my Columbia hiking boots!! Thanks for the recomendation guys!
  23. Curious about what knot you use to tie your tippet on to your leader? I use a surgeon's knot and I bought some Rio Fluorflex Plus tippet (6x & 7x), but it broke at the knot this weekend.
  24. Flyman, i fished there 2 years ago, but I only had a half day to fish. We went stayed in a cabin with my wifes family for the weekend and was lucky to get that. I stopped in Smoky Mountain Anglers (fly shop fly2fish was trying to remember), but I had much better luck there. They provided info and recommended flies. Sounds like they may have had someone filling in for them if they did not provide much help. I fished the same area that f2f fished and used a Elk Hair Caddis and a dry fly one of the guys in the shop created....was kind of like a stimulator. Caught a few small fish, while it was pouring down rain! I would give SMA another shot at assisting you with assistance.
