  5. Pastor, when the waters rising in the springs i tend to fish the upper holes[spring to the bathroom hole] I think they stock those holes a little better, not so much down toward the lower bridge[for fear of the river rising, thus flushing the fish out straight down river]This of course is my humble opinion. Good luck.
  6. Sounds like you had a good time, flyfshn.Water's coming out of the springs at a pretty good clip...........there should be a good stocking of escapees
  7. AHHH great story, Jeff.......and i remember that Brunk buck too.
  8. Caught 4 nice one's 15"-16" and left the bridge by 7:30.Caught most on 1/16th wht jig casting upriver bouncing it back.Headed for the river to break out the long rod........and forgot i had a flat on the way there and was riding on the spare. See any big ones caught?

, but you need to be invisible, fishing without line or leader with a perfect imitation of a fly to catch them.
  11. A friend of mine caught what was then a state record brown of 14 plus pounds at night around 1970. Any details?Tell us the story,please.........of a record brown at night.
  12. Yes ,i was referring to the land across the river from the public ramp, downstream ,1/4 mile or so.Just did'nt remember that many houses ,or any before.Map shows this area to be national forest, but i know there is private land scattered in. Walking up from handicap to old Mccellen's can be done.............but i would'nt......long walk upstream, dangerous[can't hear the horn blow that far down river] all the banks are private property.Better to float down IMHO.
  13. Thank you J.D. Hope the powers back on been there......not good.
  14. Thank you Dano.
  15. Was happening to me also last week Thom ......but just stopped. Now it works fine????Wish I could help.
  16. Please take no offense sir.We who dwell in this far off land beneath the tree's,beside the river fish and float withen the oldest mountains of the world and are proud to take our life from the land.No trophy hunter we,although some like to SHOW whats left after the trout are baked and the venison roasted.I fish to feed my kin, incidently enjoying sport!Post a pic!
  17. Here's one from last season.
  18. The only reason 90% check trav's post is for a good laugh. The other 8 % look for the looong aweighted and sooo elusive pic. 1% want to read people shoot down his stories.....and the remainder.........??????Sorry trav, but *"I'm from a land of corn and cockelburs, frothy eloquence neither convinces nor satisfies me....I am from Missouri......and you have got to SHOW ME......the pic's.*"....ohh yea this of course is IMHO.
  19. Well it's been over two years since this post started.Any word what ever happened to Doyle{the develeper of overlook]?Fines paid?Still in court?Any word of lasting damage to Norfork?I wonder if any of the houses were ever built?Just can't bring myself to drive down that hill to Ruby's anymore.Drove down to Wildcat a few week's ago, was'nt the same.Had'nt been down there[three years]and man had it changed.House after house after house, all where there had been big fields.Just don't understand why someone would build right next to the river and take every foot of the river bank.Well.....yea I do. Million dollar homes next to trailers next to resorts next to the national forest and the only reason there's no houses there is because the bluff is 1400 ft. but...........there's houses on top.Where did all the houses come from in the bottoms of the national forest across from shipmens ferry?Well .......funny what a bottle of St.Jame's Country Red will do to yea. Here's to a new dawning day for a brighter tomorrow.
  20. Thanks Dan-o.
  21. Thank you ,Forsythian.I thought your post was funny........but I was really looking for the administrators view or interpretation.I have read and seen the term used but am not totally sure exactly what it means. As for nix,I have'nt a clue, but never expected "a verbal smackdown".
