  1. Great report. Nice catch DD'sMC.
  2. Fishing instead of bowling? He's a Wise young man. Happy Birthday, Don
  3. After the heads up from Terry, I finally showed. Believe it or not, I did NOT come in last place in a casting contest. Hats off to BCO and staff. This was the best fling so far. I was good to meet Steve Brigman. I really enjoy his stories. It was also educational and inspiring to meet and learn from Bear and Junior; great guys full of wisdom. There were alot of good bargains at the shop as well as an opportunity to chat with a few fellow fishermen I haven't seen in awhile. Thank You, Don
  4. I'm just curious. What does 25th place get? Don

    Big 12 6 And 0!

I've really enjoyed it, especially the close games like Gonzaga and WKY last night. Low seeds like Cleveland State are exciting to watch. The scumbag moment of the tourney was watching Blake Griffen get bodyslammed to the hardwood. I have Louisville over Pitt fir the championship because of their momentum. I also have Memphis and NC in the final four. I backed off of NC to take it all because of Lawson's toe. Big 12 has good representation this year. I'm kind of leary taking them too far in the tourney because of some inconsistant play, especially road games. I do agree that sports media are coastally concentrated and never give much credit to Big 12. What's in your bracket?
  8. Thanks FlyGuy, I did well last year on milky salt and pepper spit curly tails, pumpkinseed tubes, and pearl Berkley Atomic Teasers. Don
  9. Beeson summed it up pretty well. I keep a few once in a blue moon. The best tasting ones are approx. 10 in. long. I only keep them when I cook them the same day, not to freeze. Mostly do that on camp trip fish frys. I let all my big ones go. Just think of how many others released that big fish just so I had my chance at it. Take pics and make replicas instead on the big ones. Don
  10. I just had to get my point across. Feelin' young aren't ya? Question is, whatchu been drinkin'? I guess we'll find out on the next camp trip Don
  11. Flysmallie, I hope you had a good one. Belated happy birthday wishes. Don

  13. I suggest to let the hatchery know. I lost some valuable goods before and found them by calling the hatchery. Don
  14. I don't mind hearing about the one that got away. I used to fish small tourneys and there were times I would have hit paydirt if it weren't for losing fish. It's not a complaint, it's just fact of the matter. At times, the one that got away was an exciting and exhiliarating part of the trip. Better to hook a big one than not at all. When I lose a big fish or hear about some else doing the same, I don't take it as a complaint but let such a thing instill hope instead. I even like to hear about when folks see big fish that are not to be hooked at all. When I hook or even see a big fish, my heart rate picks up and I get excited even though it never made the net. Don
  15. Nice mess of Croppy Flyguy, What did you catch them on? Thanks, Don
  16. What a day! Way to go "bow man" Don
  17. Hey Cats, Way to go. I hope you have another day like that again soon. Don
  18. I've heard of bass fishermen picking up muskies on spinnerbaits on Fellows Lake in Springfield. I.m thinking a large perch pattern for a big flyrod might be the thing if I were to go. Good Luck, Don

    Fished Crane Again

I thought that was a little guy standing on Cindy's shoulder.
  21. WOW! Nice trophy fish. Congratulations DD's MC. It was an awesome day. Don
  22. My friend Greg and I arrived at the lower MDC access about 2 PM. It was my second time at Crane and Greg's first. The weather was great and we had an extra hour to fish because of daylight savings time. Today I fished a prince nymph, mohair leech, pheasant tail and a few other nymphs. One strike and no fish. We ran into trout_bum again and he had already caught several fish. We spent two hours there then we drove to the park where we ran into Terry Beeson in pursuit of the elusive McCloud. We then fished two more hours from the ball park to the railroad bridge. Greg caught one on an elk hair caddis. He was happy he tagged one on his first trip there. Fish, or no fish, we had a good time. Don
  23. Thanks, My apologies for the oversight.
  24. My opportunities are limited since I became a single parent of my teen daughters accompanied with spring time generation patterns. I called the dam and they said 1 gennie. The girls are in Springfield on spring break. I said what the heck. I hit the water at a quarter to ten. The water had shut off by then, It was the first time I had night fished in over a year. I hit the water on the old boat ramp below Chute 1 and I never left the flats. The weather was awesome, unseasonably warm for this time of year. I picked up 15 fish before two horns sounded off at midnight. 13 were off a variety of pine squirrels and 2 off egg sucking leeches. The biggest was 15 inches. All the while I had the river all to myself. I saw a fisherman at Chute 1 and heard some some splashing up there for awhile than he left. I saw a few red headlamps down rebar/gauntlet way. As I left, another guy on the parking lot said he did well on micro jigs after the moon came out from the clouds. What a great night. I'm so grateful. Don
  25. Dadburnit! If I wasn't in such a pinch, it would be in my garage right now.
