  1. Thanks for the report. I plan to be down there this next week.
  2. Either way you go, I would recommend getting an 1856 instead of an 1852. It will go shallower.
  3. Same here. Hey Leonard! You gonna share what leaders you use???
  4. Good point, and on the treble hooks too.
  5. I make my beetles foam body. It’s my understanding that foam body terrestrials are legal in the restricted zone. Since foam is synthetic, why is it legal and a plastic/rubber not? Something I've always wondered about.
  6. Sure have. I was talking about beetles in prievious posts. Hit a real windy/gusty day a while ago and they were hitting terrestrials great. Or when the water is rising, so do the trout. Look at my 7-09 report.
  7. The suspense is killing us!
  8. Two good reasons for me NOT to take up hogging/noodle'in
  9. Thanks for the report. I don't know why this park seems to attract certain ethnic groups that are compromised with their ethics. I've seen Bosnian people keeping over their limit, they act like they don't understand english. I can speak enough of their language to get the point across, and make them very nervous. Don't hesitate to call operation game thief, or alert park people!
  10. We went out yesterday before the front came through to search for the one that got away. Guess what nailed my bass jig, a channel cat! The cat had my hopes up for a second or two, maybe I thought. Drifting and pitching further downstream, suddenly something huge hit my jig. Whatever it was felt bigger than anything I’ve ever had on in this particular river, it had my line singing and striping drag with a strong fast run. Then the jig popped out almost nailing me in the head. Never saw it. This fish story will be continued. Mr Whiskers with my favorite Bass jig in the snoot.
  11. Nice bug, thanks for sharing.
  12. I'm thinking that I will take you up on that invite. Is this the tournament that also has a big Brown jackpot that has been rolling over since no one has won it?
  13. Only 60... thats fast on the water, I'll bet she would run 70 with a little tweaking. I think I saw you there at Lilleys a few months back, I'm thinking late April. Think I saw you but didn't see your Gator.
  14. The other week down at Taney, Japanese Beetles were everywhere and the fish would bite on a foam body beetle. I would think they are hitting the same at Bennett?
  15. Sounds like fun, thanks for your report.
  16. Is the poker run a Gator sponsored event? Or is there another event when you Gator guys get out and run your fast Gator boats? I've seen the you tube videos. BTW, I sent a reply to your PM.
  17. I will second Billy Gails for breakfast!
  18. And that's what it's all about, quality time. I never measure success by numbers. It's all about the experience itself. Looking forward to great times together this Fall.
  19. Got out somewhere On The Meramec for a little fishing with Donna. She usually fishes for Pumpkinseeds & Gills with 2 lb test. She caught this nice Largemouth on her ultralight rig! And this fish jumped several times and took her around some wood. Thanks to a humble yours truley, and some expert boat handling, and a quik grab...we high fived after I snatched the fish for her. A couple pics for the scrap book and a quick release. I caught....... a Drum oh well felt like a Smallie for a little bit.... A beautiful day today ,on a senic stretch of river.
  20. We arrived at the Dam early Friday morning to strong winds. The fish we caught were strong fighters with many in the 17-19 inch range. The Dam started generation at noon as planned. That was the only part of the plan they stuck to. Fishing was awesome with 1 unit coming on, and better with 2 units running easy. Then SWPA went outside of what they called for, 4 units! Should have brought the boat! We really aren’t big fans of combat fishing in the outlets, but when we checked out outlet 1 it wasn’t crowded. Fishing was slow there, and after being somewhat spoiled from our earlier fishing we called it a day. Sunday we hit the water early as the SWPA called for 1 unit at 9 am going to 2 units at noon. Matt told me,”I’ll bet they turn on 2 units”. That’s exactly what they did! And they ran 2 units hard. Those 2 units ran the same as 3 units Friday. Again, should have brought the boat. The outlets were packed, so we went hunting new spots with little success. We decided to pack it up and check out Dana’s for lunch. A great idea! Still another great time with my best fishing buddy. We were celebrating his 25th birthday! Seems like yesterday when I saw him catch his fisrt Bass by himself at 2 years old!
  21. Dana’s was a great suggestion. Matt and I stopped by for lunch. Great food, cold beer. By dinner time wasn’t even very hungry.
  22. Pop here... For Fri. They say, 1 unit at noon, going to 2 units at one. Staying at 2 units till evening. We will see, who knows... At Taney ya take what ya get. Happy Birthday son!!!
  23. Hey Doc, I hope to post a pic of that one this year. I sent you a PM.
  24. The jig I fish from a spinning rod, with short little hops bumping the bottom. If you fish the jig right, you will knock all the paint off the jig head. The PMS I used was one Leonard made up with a smaller bead head on it. I was using a fly rod stripping it along the bottom. I would direct questions to Leonard. He's the "doctor" when it comes to the PMS or Hibernator.
