My son and me fished Sat.Water was a little high and cloudy. Weather overcast and misty.
We caught plenty of fish, there are some nice sized fish in there. My son had one on that must have been a 4+ pounder.Word from the park folks was recent flooding let a few of the larger brood stock loose from above the cable.
Here's a pic of my son with a dink.
Don't know where you live.Another source would be Perry's Marine in Bourbon Mo.He sells Southfork jet jons made in Ark. Very similar to Alweld.

Awesome! next best thing to being there.Makes me want to hitch the boat and head down there.Alas I live very close to Hwys 44 & 141.Think 44 is closed between me & Springfield.
Thanks again for the video, looks like fun!
Bruce
Hope everyone is ok.
Will someone post some pics or video?thats a site to see.I was down at Taney in '72 I think and saw the flood gates open at Table Rock Dam.
Trav,I am looking for maps showing the reference points mentioned on the lake...Roark creek,Bee,Bull,Monkey,Barrier Cove, etc.
There is a map page on the upper Taney section of this site...not all the maps work when ya click 'em.
Gavin
Thanks for the website!
I know what you mean.I'm a flyfisherman and know how I feel if you hear a jet boat coming your way.I always waded, till recent years when I got a jet boat .I am careful to respect waders, for ex...at Taney coming up from Fall Creek to lookout point in my jet boat.If I see waders around the corner at the Point Royale acess,I stop there.I always give wade fishermen a wide berth.Heck if I do put in at the MDC ramp below the Dam I NEVER go up from there unless 3-4 units are on!
I'm considering River Pro cause they are quieter, and very good for the rivers I live so close to.The meramec river near Big river.
Thanks again
I envy you folks who live in Taney, and can hit the water anytime the conditions are right...sigh...
When I retire, planning on moving down there. In the mean time this website and these posts keep me going.
This is a darn interesting picture and story even if you aren't into fishing, but please show it to anyone you know that likes to fish.
FYI: This sturgeon is still alive, just worn out from the fight. They turned him loose after the photo.
This Sturgeon was caught on the Willamette River just below Oregon City two weeks ago. It weighed out at over 1,000 lbs and measured out
at 11'1'. It was 56' around the girth and took over 6 and a half hours, and 4 dozen beers, for the 4 guys taking turns at the reeling it in.
Any Sturgeon OVER about five feet has to be released unharmed and cannot be removed from the water.
They are brood / breeding stock and probably older than most of us.
After viewing online opinions,I've decided to buy a Optio W30.Any advise where to buy online, save on tax & shipping.
I like the idea of a camera that you can leave in the vest and not worry about wading too deep or rain.Looks like it's simple enough to hand to a obliging stranger and get a decent pic?
Thanks in advance
I usually fish Taney every year by my boat in April/May.This year I will have to explore down lake! Thanks guys.Maybe I will see fewer boats down lake?
Trav,btw I voted Branson...I do digress
