  1. No offense ment unless you are one of the disrespectful........which by your sense of humor, i would guess your not. Good luck and have a safe fun time.
  2. when we stayed there, it was good accomodations, service, live bait and a nice dock. It is in Decker's cove off of the Pomme side, and only about 3 miles from the dam & large 2 Marinas. They have been up for sale lately, but should still be good. Be sure to ask if they are running a "Bass Tournament" at that time as it can get a little hetic with some of those idiots!
  3. Before we bought on the lake, we stayed at "Nemo Bridge Resort". It is right next to the bridge, super fishing, boat slips and baitshop/outfitter 1/2 mile. Their dock is straight across Lindsey Arm from the Marina & state campground. Dale & Shelly are very nice and will provide all your needs for around $5o or less w/ boat slip. Several good restruants close buy.
  4. This is probably some of the best foods I have had over several years. My wife and I dine out quite often and like to try the new places, concepts and chef-offerings throught the mid-west. We took a trip through Louisanna in 2000 with the purpose of sightseeing and eating at some of the local, authentic, Cajun & Creole cafes around the gulf area & New Orleans. We started eating at the Beach House Cafe after moving to Rockaway Beach last year. It seems that each item we try is better than the last. We were most impressed with the "Seafood Buffet" on Friday eves. where you can get all you can eat of shrimp, redfish, mussels, frog legs, crawfish, etc. all done up Louisanna style. I and my wife both agree that the crafish and baked redfish is better than any we had while touring Louisanna. It is no wonder, I have learned that Ellen has a great abundance of expertise in this area. It seems that she cooked for many years for the Cajuns and riggers on the Louisanna off-shore oil rigs. If you happen to be in the area for lunch (you can go by boat and moar at her dock in the back) I would highly recommend the gumbo or an oyster po'boy sandwich! If you try it once, I promise you will be back for more whenever you can. Besides the fine foods on Friday eve. Ellen has a country band that is very good on "old style" country and bluegrass. Come on down & try it out!
  5. Do you make lures, tie flys, build rods or have other fishing crafts you like to make & sell? Rockaway Beach has a CRAFTS EVENT every Sat. through Oct. It is in conjunction with the Farmer's Market and many other events that are scheduled. What better way to show & sell your hand-crafted items than right on the banks of Taney where the fishermen gather. If you would like to get involved or know a buddy who would, just contact Ellen Brown @ the Beach House Cafe in Rockaway Beach. (417-561-5410)
  6. Hey Trav, Super job it looks great. Do you need some fill dirt on that side??? We got about 300 yds. X 40' right out in front of Rockaway shore line about 50 yds out. Your welcome to take all you want....LOL. The old dock of JB's will soon be history. They are going to tear it down and remove it to make room for a new city dock in the near future.
  7. I'll see if I can get with the guys in the flag boats or the waterpatrol that day & let them know. You are the one closest to RB, right, not on down towards the point across from Cedar?
  8. Anyone planning on fishing or traveling on the lake around Rockaway Beach on the weekend of May 31 & June 1 be aware that there will be times the area will be closed due to Hydroplane races at Rockaway. There will be Director/Flag boats at each end of the course to direct or halt traffic so that no one gets hurt. The water patrol will be present and the traffic movements will be strictly enforced. They will keep traffic flowing as well as possible but you might expect a possible short wait during racing heats.
  9. The Corp is showing a surface temp of 67. Are the bass & crappie in "Post" spawn now or is this falling water going to screw up the spawn? It has fallen about 12-14' since the surface temp was 57&58 in April. Sure hope this dosen't mess things up!
  10. Super! This should really help. Don't know where you come up with all these top-notch ideas, but keep um coming, they're great.
  11. Hey thanks seth......looks like you guys had a good season. It was different this year with all the high water and cool temps for sure.
  12. ROCKAWAY BEACH................ City Boat launch & City dock & fishing island
  13. Hey, come on now guys! I know there not TR Bass but there has to be more than one of you all brave enough to admit you went snaggin instead of pitchin! Besides, these boys of mine need all the input/help they can get, they just arn't as good a fisherman as Old Dad........LOL. Have a great day & hope it's on the water.
  14. Thanks a million! It's about a 45 min. haul from Rockaway and, at the price of gas now, I would cry & kick my feet if I made the trip and they were closed (I normally don't do that unless I watch a 6# bass spit my lure back in the boat after a 5 min. tussel!). LOL Have a good one & best of luck........D.C.
  15. I have been hearing that it is off with all the rain & high water we have had. May be that they are in a spawning pattern now too. Is the Marina open there during the week now so I can get a permit for my boat? If so, do you know during what hours? Hope it picks up, I want to fish that lake this spring!
