  1. Does anyone out there fish for bass on Bull Shoals in July and August? I tried on Saturday morning and couldn't find a fish.
  2. Phil - thanks for posting this video. I played it on one of my office monitors this afternoon. I'm curious, what kind of boat were you fishing out of? It looks a lot like my Tracker Grizzly 1754. Thanks, Brian
  3. Phil - is there any chance you might have some more of those bumper stickers?
  4. Does anyone have a fishing report from Crooked Creek or the Kings River lately? Just wondering how the water is flowing and the fish are doing.
  5. Tuesday was a good time Bill. I'm glad we could hook up and I'm looking forward to the next time. Take care, Brian
  6. Sounds like good times! I love to hear how you guys are all doing since I'll be fishing the Arock with two buddies next Mon-Wed.
  7. I guess it helps to include the link: http://videos.kansascity.com/vmix_hosted_apps/p/media?id=149598321
  8. Guys, What is the water level like at Table Rock? I haven't been there since April, but am going to try and float the White River in September. Check out this video of Kanopolis Reservoir in Central Kansas. I grew up near this 3,500 acre lake and used to fish & camp there. It looks like a pond now. Tight lines! Brian
  9. Sore Thumbs - how soon does the spawn normally happen on TR? I've tried to time that before and ended up a week or two late. Thanks, Brian
  10. Hey everybody, I'm not very active on this forum at all, but I do get a chance a couple of times every year to fish Table Rock. I'm going to try to fish down there this spring and would like some advice regarding the best time to plan on. Since it's such a deep lake it's very different from the ones I'm used to fishing and I've found it extremely difficult through the years. I'm from Kansas and I've always found that the fishing's best mid-April to mid-June. We're going to fish with a guide for one day, but when should we go? Should I keep an eye on the water temps and try to target when the water is a certain temp? Any other tips for timing? Thanks for your advice. Brian
  11. rps, Thanks for letting me know. It's tough to plan a trip somewhere that I've never been. A guide would be nice, but my budget just doesn't allow for one. Can you tell me the name of the dam store, or do you know the phone #? I'd like to give them a quick call but don't know how to find them from out of town. Brian
  12. How do you guys normally fish Beaver's Tailwaters? Do you wade from shore with chest waders, or do you use a canoe or a jon boat?
  13. Fellas, I'm going to be staying on Table Rock with two buddies next weekend. We're going to fish Taneycomo in my 18' Lowe V-bottom boat and would like to float the Kings River in canoes. However, if there's not enough water flowing on the Kings we're considering fishing the Beaver tailwaters. Is it possible to float these waters in a V-bottom boat like you could at Taneycomo? I've obviously never fished the Beaver waters so any advice on how one must fish there is appreciated. Thanks for sharing!
  14. Hi fellas! I'm thinking about floating the Kings River on Friday the 27th. Has anyone floated it lately? Has there been enough water flowing to do so? Thanks for sharing.
  15. I'm going to be making a Sunday - Tuesday trip to Table Rock to fish with two friends this spring. We've done this each year for the past 3 or 4 years and always seem to be too late. We live in KC and I always think of the best time to bass fish as being around May 1st. What would you guys say is the best time in spring to bass fish on Table Rock? Thanks for the info!
  16. We tried these floats several times each: 1)The cable up by the dam to the Lookout Island 2)Lookout Island to Fall Creek 3)Fall Creek to Short Creek 4)Lilley's to Cooper Creek Thanks! Brian
  17. Hello everyone! I have to ask a question about fishing Taneycomo. A friend and I went down there for 3 days last weekend and only caught 23 total fish - including a grand total of 1 on the last day. They were all rainbows and the largest was 15 1/2". We're open-faced spinning fishermen and have fished Taney, the White, Roaring River, Bennett, etc. several times over the years and always caught about 20 fish each per day. Here's a synopsis of our equipment and techniques: Ultralight spinning rod & reel 4 lb P-line & 4 lb Stren 1/32 oz jigs in olive, brown, sculpin, white, pink, yellow, etc. 1/24 oz brown rooster tails small crankbaits super dupers little cleos powerbait and gulp doughbait & worms below Fall Creek - both on bottom & under a float We caught all of our fish on either powerbait on the bottom or the olive jigs. There always seemed to be a fair amount of water running and we tried everything we could think of, except buying a flyrod and giving that a try. Can a spin fishermen still count on catching a lot of fish, or do we need to switch over to fishing with a fly rod? We certainly saw quite a few people flyfishing. Thanks for the input. Brian
