I'll be there. Not sure what days but probably the 29th thru the 2rd. The lady at Sand Springs is calling me back to confirm those days are open. Can't wait to get to Bennett again. Montauk was awsome and I caught lots of fish. A couple were 17 inches. Lots of nice fish in the stream. i did some exploring and I wish I had a trail map to figre out where I needed to go. Access is way different than Bennett for sure. I fished a little but everywhere but caught the most above the falls. Stripping Cracklebacks about 1 or 2 feet deep and drifting size 18 Zebra midges worked well one day. Peach egg with a Zebra Midge dropper worked great another day. I did lots of Midge color changing but the Silver head/ Black zebra midge was all I could catch them on consistently. Go figure. The lady called back and I'm all set.

No fishing with Noluck while he was in town but he did come over for dinner. We had a good talk and ate burgers. He said he may not be able to get time off for a big get together but we'll see. Pretty hot to be camping for us so I may get a room at sand springs for a couple of nights later this week. Th wife and I are looking forward to a little cooler weather to camp down there. Let me know when you guys are going and maybe we can get together.

I'm thinking about sometime next week myself for a couple of days. I haven't been for months with all the high water.

Gla you're ok. I have a real fear of tht anymore. Maybe it's the trifocals. The wading staff has been a godsend in the rocky areas for me.

Oh you catch 'em if it's solid mud! Actually i have done pretty well with the water a little off color sometimes.

If you could find a spot! Always crowded. Whatever you do take some weighted bobbers so you can pitch it to the other side in zone 2. That's if your spin fishing. Drift an egg pattern fly or some small jigs and you should catch some.

I've been wanting to hit Mountauk sometime. I haven't been there in 30 years.

From the camera pointing to the darn it looks like they got more snow than here but the roads look ok. I think I saw Noluck "wild casting" to clear himself a spot.

Very cool. Just watched a couple of fish caught. Probably should have gone. I'm working around the house and in my model airplane factory (shop). I really thought the roads were going to be horrible. In Shawnee we got an inch or so and it almost gone now. There might have been more in lebanon. Spring is just around the corner and the wife and I will pull the camper down for a week as soon as it gets alittle warmer. Good times. Pat, I hope your wife is doing well. We need to meet you guys down there camping sometime this year.

I hope you all had a great new year. I keep thinking Ill head down some weekend and now we're getting to go out of town for 2 weeks. Feb. will probably be cold as hell. Might head down anyway. BTW, 2 weeks out of town is in Cancun, Mexico. A buddy has time shares and we can stay for free with them. He like to fish so I hope to get "deep sea fishing" off my bucket list. I hope to keep "got eaten by a shark" OFF my bucket list!. We have never been able to go anywhere like that so we are pretty stoked.

I'm itching to go but with the holiday activities I guess Ill stay home. Today is my wife's last day to ever work after 45 years of teaching. We plan on taking the popup to Bennett in the spring and we are both looking forward to that. You all have a Merry Christmas! Looking forward to some camping and fishing next year.
