  1. beamedik, Here is a good rule of thumb... the Normal Discharge flow is 100 or less. An the normal Gage Height is less than 3 feet. Anything above those values, the water may be a bit off color and "faster" flows. I hope that helps out. Later, FFM
  2. Patfish... I got that same treatments from Dano a few months back as well, so don't feel so bad. Later, FFM
  3. DoITLookIt has made a point that most people are computer literate. I look at the forum everyday or every two days. I look in the "View New Posts" section to see any new activity. I can scan a page for new posts in less than a minute and view the ones I want to see and skip the ones I don't appeal to. So with that, It does not bother me one bit if you wnat to expand the forum and sperate the section by State. Phil, I think this is a great idea. Later, FFM
  4. Pat, I'm very sad to hear of this news. I wish you the very best. When I lost my job back in Dec you sent me a message of support. You indicated I will fine something soon and I did find a short term job, it is putting food on the table for my family. So I want to thank you. I know you are going to be able to find something very soon. You got a lot of people on this forum backing you up. Good Luck!! Kim
  5. The ODD COUPLE ROCKS!!!!
  6. I don't think the Steelers are the dirties team out there by any means. Their Defense plays until the whistle blows and they have the best defense coach in the league that teaches them how to hit and hit hard. Later, FFM
  7. Well I bet for the Steelers to win, plus they covered my spread of 3 1/2 point. That was to close for my comfort. Besides my bet, I was pulling for Warner. It was a great game to watch, but over all even though the Card defense did make to great stops and a safety they still had 3 Person fouls on one drive, that was a killer. So they ended up being their own worst enemies. Plus I do hope the NFL fines Harrison for that Person Foul he had on that Card punt play. What he did was totally uncalled for. Later, FMM
  8. Patfish, I too am a huge supporter of Cabelas but their Mill's store is really bad as for FlyFishing stuff. I only get out there twice a year and i only buy the stuff on clearance. Plus their knowledge in not the best. The last time out there a month back, I could not even find any decent hooks, the selection was pitiful. As for F-C, I had a bad experience there a few months back (first time in 10+ years) but I don't think I will be going back there for some time. So I will keep my business with Tom. JD, as for the the old Orvis store, it was a joke. They were more interested in selling a $60 sweater instead of a $600 fly rod. Later, FFM
  9. Phil, Just wondering something. You mentioned member #4000, but what is this for the forum? Because I see member number is the 8000s. So I don't get it. Later, FFM
  10. Phil, I just wnated you to know, that when I clicked on Blue Spings and got Barron Fork creek instead. Later, FFM
  11. OF, As for waders, the Cabels brand is great and yes they do honor their 5 year warranty. I recently had a 4 1/2 year old pair of breathable pant waders and they had 3 leaks in them. I contact cabelas, they first wanted to see it aqua seal would resolve the problems so they sent me a tube. Well it did not so they sent me a brand new pair of waders. I also own a pair of Orvis High backs for the winter season and they are great too. Over all I think I have been getting my moneys worth from the Cabela's brand. later, FFM
  12. Patfish, My Sears opener went out about 6 months ago, it too was humming , I then unplugging it, I removed the chain and manually tested the sensors by the moter and made hte sure the door was not stuck. The sensors tell the motor which way to turn. Anyway after reconneting the chain and plugging it back in. I hit the button the opener started to hum, then the smoke appeared then a "POW". I think at that the time the motor was out. Who knew. I hope you have better luck then I had. I replaced the opener by myself. I was surprised it only took about 30 mintes from start to finish. 13. Patfish, I'm really sorry to hear about the upcoming results for you. As you already know, I know the feel. For the rest of you to know I got laid off from Anheuser-Busch on Dec 12th. PatFish sent me a PM informing me that his company is a very large supplier to A-B, and he did not know the faith of this company because their contract with A-B was coming due in a few months. Well as faith has it, the whole ABInbev take over has just started and it seems there is not an end in site to see the entire out come and how many people will actually be effected. Sorry again Pat. BTW: To all, there is a great website already created to network, it is called LinkedIn.com Later, Kim
  14. You dah man Brian. Great picture, who took it for you? Later, FFM
  15. ozarkgunner, you indicate the Yampa was the only stream to catch Browns in CO. How many years ago was that? I have been taking fishing trips to CO since 1996 and have catch browns in multiple streams and rivers. Later, FFM
  16. OTF, The day was out of the ordinary for me. I have been fishing MSSP for 30 years, but I have only fishing with a fly rod for the past 10 years. Prior to yesterday, in all those years of fishing MSSP I have only landed 4 fish 20" or more. So to me when I hooked more than one big fish in a day, I was very happy. Later, FFM
  17. Well this has been my first time I have been to MSSP in 12 month. I decided to go just last night. Anyway, I got down there at 7:30 and rigged up and was fishing at 8. The water is a cloudy green and visability varied from 1 to 3 feet. Like normal during the winter months, a lot of fish like to suspend about 1 to 2 feet below the surface. So if you are a softhackle or like to strip flies this is a great place for you to practice. Stripping is not my cup of tea (unless I got a dollar in my teeth ), but I did manage to land 5 using using that technic. As for nymph fishing, the day started out slow but once I found the right combination of flies, depth and weight, It was game ON! I was able to land over 40 fish and had just as many LDRs to boot. This is the biggest number of fish for me using a flyrod at MSSP. But I do have to say this was the best Quality fish I have ever caught there. For the fish I caught, one was a 20" bow, a 24" bow and a 22" brown. The one LDR I wanted back was another brown. I fought it for 10 minutes got it to the net, but my net was too small and I miss handled it. The huge brown made one more run and then got me wrapped up in a moss pile then got broke the line. I was cursing myself out at that point. The weather was great and the morning crowd was very small, by business started to pick up after noon. The only spot that has multiple fishermen was up around the island area. And there were at time 3 people at the bathroom hole. The flies I used today in no particular order were (I will let you guess which double rig combination below helped me hook 90% of my fish today): Green-butt soft hackle scud "sloppy balls" RS2 Primrose and Perle Zebra Midge Youn Special Mercury Pheasant tail Buckskin Y2K San Juan worm fresh water shimp plus a few other that I can't remember I hope everyone is able to get and give this place a shot during C&R. 18. I was going to throw a shout out for Blue Springs just outside of Bourbon, MO. This is a tiny stream and most fish are under 12". Laker67, Do you know if this stream is stocked? Later, FFM
  19. Brian, Like I told you in person.... I'm still jelous the two of you were able to perform such a feat. Talk at you later, FFM
  20. Dano, First off great topic! What I see interesting about the current posts, is that the size only goes down to size 18 for most patterns. It made me chuckle a bit since 90% of my patterns start at 18 and go to 24. I believe smaller is better 80% of the time and it works very well for me. Also, I'm not a very good streamer of soft hackle fisherman either. But to get back to your list: You got to have some: Pheasant tails and RS2 patterns size 18 or smaller. Later, FFM
  21. patfish, So was the "NYE beer" a Bud? Later, FFM
  22. I wish everyone a Better an Merrier Xmas then what we have going on. I just got let go at Anheuser-Busch the other day and just today I got to see my 17 old step-son get taken by ambulance to get tested for drugs, alcohol and a mental evaluation. I hope the next few days bring a new and promising years. All ways think positive. Later, FFM
