Pat, Thanks for your support and wish the best to you and your company as well. As for the new logo, here is background according to "the company": From our internal web site here at AB InBev: "The new AB InBev logo keeps the eagle, but now it's soaring instead of perched. The logo features the eagle in golden colors, to represent "strength, agility and focus, while at the same time looking forward and upwards to reflect our collective vision, drive and energy," says the company" Later, FFM

Gamakatsu’s New Dropper Beads
flyfishmaster replied to flyfishmaster's topic in General Angling Discussion
Brian, Here is a previous Posting with a lot of Info: http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?s...amp;hl=multiple But TimsFly has the specfic line that tells it all: One of the local game wardens down here at R.R. told me that a fly that is tied togeather and fished as a single fly, needs to have one hook, not two, if you have two flies tied togeather with a piece of mono, tied in at the hook bend or at the eye of the fly and being fished as two seperate flies, that is what he would define as a single fly and a dropper, a fly tied at the vise and being held togeather with wire or mono, but being actually one fly, to be legal would only have one hook, not two, so you can tie them in the articulate style, but cut a hook off to make it legal. Today is a sad day not only for me but for a lot of American base companies that have fallen to foreign takeovers. If 6 months ago, you were asked on the street: Name 5 companies in the USA that are cornerstones to the Red, White and Blue, I'm sure one of them named would have been Anheuser-Busch. Well that is not the case today. As of 8:00 AM (CDT) on Tuesday November 18, 2008. InBev announced that it has completed its acquisition of Anheuser-Busch. InBev has changed its name to Anheuser-Busch InBev "to reflect the heritage and traditions of Anheuser-Busch." It hits me a bit harder than most of you on this forum because I work at A-B (or should I now say A-B InBev). The moral is very low. As of today the top 8 VP of the company are retiring (and will be gone by this Friday). As of October 1, there have been close to 700 people take the Early Retirement package. That is a lot of knowledge working out the door is a short period of time. With an excepted 300 more by the end of November. Yesterday, Sports marketing legend Tony Ponturo, who ended up as VP Global Media and Sports Marketing at Anheuser-Busch, has announced his retirement from the company. Tony topped most lists as the most powerful exec in sports marketing for many years. This is legendary guy is responsible for all the great commercials and ads we see. I think I might have to drink my lunch today. Later, Kim R. Ahne aka FFM

I just receive a group E-mail from Lisa Schlueter of Westover Farms with an update regarding their recent changes. I do not know any details besides the informtion she has sent out. The only thing I do know according to business reports is that the bank now owns the facility, it was on the auction block but no one person was able to bid enough so at this time the bank still ownes it and The Schlueter's are still running the operation. If somebody else has more details, please provide the information. --------- Here is her E-Mail: We hope this email finds you doing well! We wanted to provide you with an update because many of our guests have been inquiring about the completion of our cabins. Well, we are pleased to announce that we now have a cabin available for nightly rental! It is a luxurious 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath, with all of the amenities including a gourmet kitchen and a living room with a wood burning fire place. If you would like to rent out the cabin and do not need 3 bedrooms, we are able to block-off the extra rooms so that you only purchase the number of rooms you need. This is a great cabin that can be used as a peaceful escape for couples or an enjoyable getaway for a group of ladies or gentleman. The conference center and fly shop are also completed. If you need a place to entertain clients or want to conduct a business meeting, we have the perfect spot for you. All of the technology needed for a meeting or presentation is available for you in the conference center. We also have an array of catering options for you to choose from. Finally, our full service fly fishing and gift shop is open. We have a variety of waders, rods, reels, flies and other accessories that are available for rent or sale. Several documents explaining our pricing and policies have been attached to this email. And, don’t forget that we offer 50% off towards catch and release fishing for those who are staying in the cabin. So, let us know when you are able to come out and enjoy the breathtaking views and solitude at Westover Farms. You may even want to rent the cabin for yourself or your family over the holidays. We look forward to hearing from you soon, Lisa Schlueter Here are some attachments of prices and stuff: COST_LIST.pdf Lodging_Prices2.pdf Later, FFM

I just saw this new product from Gamakatsu on the market to make tying on a dropper fly eaiser with less tangles during casting. It is a clear glass bead that slides on your line above the attached leader. This allow the dropper fly to move independant from the normal first attached fly. But when looking at this, I think the rig is not legal according to Missouri law. Any multiple fly rigs need to be attached to the hook of the previous fly. I like the look of this product, but too bad we can't use it around here. What are your thoughts? Here is the site :Click here ----- DROPPER BEADS Anyone who has ever fished with a two fly rig has experienced the frustration of seeing it come back in a tangled mess. Gamakatsu’s new Dropper Beads will help alleviate that problem. The Dropper Bead is a clear plastic oval bead with a hole running length wise through the center that the leader goes through and a second hole underneath it running perpendicular to the other one to attach a dropper line to. The easiest way to rig it is to put it on the leader before tying the tippet. The tippet knot will keep it from sliding forward. Once in place, the dropper line can be easily attached. Since the Dropper Bead can slide and spin on the line, the dropper fly is less likely to tangle with the fly on the tippet. The Dropper Bead is also neutrally buoyant and won’t interfere with the cast or prevent the leader from turning over. They’re useful for other purposes like attaching a strike indicator or attaching a weight. The Dropper Beads are available in 3 sizes, Large, Medium and Small to accommodate different line sizes and applications. ------

BKB, Yes, that was me below the Suzy hole at that time of day. That area is fun to fly fish in. I really like the faster water below Susy hole all the way down to the next big hole. After fishing is Zone 3 at 2 PM, I went to the Z2 and fished the hatcher outlet and I remember see the big guy smoking the cigar. I guess I missed all the excitement. I only stay in the outlet for about 15 minutes. Sorry I missed talking to you. Later, FFM

I also was down at Bennett, I was able to take my wife along as well. At Bob mentioned it was off and on showers (more sprinkles than anything) but I was able to stay dry due to a great wading jacket. I fished from 8:30 - 12 in the "High Bank" section in Zone 2. I did catch a lot of fish including 6 browns (one being 18+") but I do have to say the total number of fish in this section is down compared to past years. I did hook in to a brown for a few minutes that would dwarf the one in my avatar picture (that is one big fish). There were about 8 different fisherman that were in the area through out the morning, but it was not crowded at all. Like Bob said there was a hatch going on, but I did not dry fly fish, I concintrated on the emergers istead. So here is the list of flies that whacked them (in nor particular order): My version of glo-ball, "Sloppy balls" sz 20 Buckskin sz 20 Black or Red Zebra midge sz 20/22 Crystal midge (fresh water shimp imitation) sz 22 Yong Special (rust color) sz 20 Mercury Phesant Tails sz 20 WD40 and ofcourse the sz 20/22 RS2 After lunch I went down to Zone 3 and fished from 12:30 - 2. I started at Suzy Hole and went down srteam from there. There was NO BODDY else fishing this area! The water is fast so weight is the key factor when fishing this section. I was able to land 16 with one bow being 18+". All thes fish fought hard then the ones in Zone 2. I only used a few flies: San Juan worms Mercury Phesant Tails We then went back up to Zone 2 to finish the day off, plus my wife started fishing because the rain stoped. Again I used the same flies and were able to pick up another 15 or so fish. With out knowing the time. We spotted nice brown I made two cast to it and it took my fly on the second cast. After landing it, it ended up being in the 18" range. After releasing the fish, the horn sounded to end the day. What a way to end the day! It was a great day with few fisherman and a lot of fish landed. Also thanks to my wife for going with me. We had a very good day together. Later, FFM

hoglaw, I agree with everon else, use a SLUG. I'm in IL and we can only use shotgun/muzzelloader/hand gun/bow. Next you are going to be getting a bunch of people telling what slugs to use in the your gun. I'm assuming you have a smooth bore barrel. Here is my first hand knowledge of the 870s. When I owned an 870 and my 4 freinds also owned different sytles of 870, it seems that the Remington Slugger was the best slug for the gun. I cannot even tell you how many other brands and types we have range tested, but we always ended up going back to the Slugger. I didn't have a preference between 2Âľ" or 3" shells, they shot the same for me. I hope this helps you out. Later, FFM

Gink's And Other Fly Treatments
flyfishmaster replied to fishinwrench's topic in General Angling Discussion
Well I'll throw my 3 cents worth (inflation raised it from 2). I still use the Glinks, but after it goes under the surface for th first time, I start putting the fly in either my Loon Top Rider shaker or in my Frog's Fanny shaker (yes I know the Frogs Fanny comes in a small bottle with a brush, but I transfered it to an old Top Rider shaker for easier one handed use). I perfer the Frog's Fanny to keep the fly riding higher on the surface. later, FFM -

Urban Winter Trout - Walker Lake
flyfishmaster replied to flyfishmaster's topic in General Angling Discussion
Dovetail, Walker is only 2.5 acres so it is very small. At 11 AM there were 6 people fishing so when you start moving around every few minutes it does not take long to cover the entire lake. There are some areas That I can cast from bank to bank. I have not tried any flies yet due to the very windy conditions the last two days, I will once the elements calm down, or wait until Obama sends "Change" request to mother nature. Well I would take a picture of the White Cleo for you but I think the Taney Giant Quid relocated and ate my lure this afternoon at Walker. I hate that thing. Later, FFM -

Urban Winter Trout Program
flyfishmaster replied to flyfishmaster's topic in General Angling Discussion
bredman, I agree I don't think they will be stocking for a few more weeks because of the higher lake temp. later, ffm -
This is just a reminder that that the Urban Winter Trout Program for lakes will be opening on Saturday Nov 1, 2008. If you are in the St. Louis area you can call the Stocking Hotline at (636) 300-9651 to find out if your favorite lake had received their fish yet and the number of fish. There are other hotlines for the rest of the state but I don't have the phone numbers. Here is a link to the whole program: Click here later, FFM
