Ok no takers from KC this time. I am getting out of the house a little late so I am hopeing to get there about noon. Any of you local guys who might be down there I will be driveing a tan Chevy with a big MU sticker on it. If not by the truck Ill be in the water wearing a straw cowboy hat probally falling on my duff. Should be staying into the dark hours so any of you night time guys that might have some pointers look me up.

1 unit from 12am to 9am 2units from 9am to 10am and 1 unit from 10am to 12am if i listened correctly. i was hopeing for a lot less than that. it hard to fish the old KOA when they are trying to flood you out.

just cale the dam hotline and it said basically 1 unit all day long. for all you local guys is this about normal and have they been sticking to the projections?

Im thinking about makeing a day trip to tany tomorrow Sat Jan 26 was just wondering if anyone form the KC area would be interested in going and spliting gas. Was thinking about leaveing about 7am or so and leaveing tany after dusk.

i would absolutly make it if you were just a couple miles closer to kansas city. mabe i will try and make it in there on one of my trips down that way

ok heres a question if i have some flies that i have just made up not even knowing what they are and i take these flies to tany and they happen to work what should i do a)make sure i go go through the thousands of flies to make sure that it hasent already been NAMED and to make sure that i call the original tier and give him his royalities b)go abut my day of fishing as i would normlly and if someone asks me "what are you useing" say i dont know i just made it up C)go about my day slaughtering the dinks and haveing a blast calling my new favorite fly the "zebra soggyfoot" d)sit on the other bank and make fun of how small all the other fish being caught are

he is probally to busy walking the beaches of cancun in his parka to go to the ozarks

I would rather catch dinks allday on one of my flies than to catch a so called monster on powerbait. Thats just my opinion though

you have to wrestle the tany squid to get ahold of the pms. jk i dont know but if you find out let me know

i say go for it although im not the most experinced but i started about 2 years ago on about the same set up but i bought a 7wt on accident but you know what it still caught fish. i did end up picking up a 4pc 5wt in the bagin bin at cabelas later.

sorry about the two month delay Im trying to catch up on my reading. but consider yourself lucky only spending 40 bucks before leaveing the store the only way i can do that is if i make two visits to the store on one fishing trip. but it is money well spent for the advise you get.

thanks a bunch for those sites now do you fellows know if there are any that sell tying materials or am i stuck useing the stupid bass pro and cabelas stores since there are not any fly shops around me that i know of

is there websites out there that have fly recipes. i'm just getting into tying and am trying to figure out what in the world i am doing. looking for a pine squirrel, and a maraboo jig recipe

Im going south this weekend to take care of some stuff and was hopeing to stop by Tany a couple times if possible. I was wondering what the crouds looked like and how the fishing has been since the fall Brownrush. Hopefully if I make it down there I will have the chance to run into some of you. (I need all the help I can get.LOL)

I know its has been a while for this thread but i just read it. I just need to know where Terry has been fishing at Tany. It sounds much better than way down in the trophy zone where i usually end up. Not a chance of seeing a lady much less a person or two. Maybe thats why its always so crowded way up by the dam and the outlets. Also makes give second thought about all that talk about the strippers club and the brass pole he speaks of. I might need to check this place out. The big hole thats just below outlet three isnt it? soggyfeet
