I have never been up that far ( just a little past outlet 2 on that side of the lake, almost to the wire on the other side). Does anyone have any pics what it looked like before. I usually go down to the old KOA did it got all tore up down there as well.

Being a beginer myself (only two yrs anyway) I agree with the others. I started with a 7wt and had a hard time learning how to cast but Im glad I did cause when I bought my 5wt the casting was alot easier. I think my first set up was for less than 100 bucks from Cabelas and now since it was a 7wt I use it for night fishing(those fish hit a little harder ) But I notice you said you were planning on selling it on ebay. If your like me after you start fly fishing you wont want to sell it you will just want to by more and have a different rig for each fishing hole or condition. (big fish, pan fish, trout, salt water, yard caster and the list goes on and on)

Now dont let Terry fool you I think hes just trying to get off the top of the crazy list by putting Leanard there in his place. Dont get me wrong Leonard is crazy and if you ever fish with him when hes is rigging your rod you will be thinking what in the heck is he doing. Ive never changed what he did to my night fly rig. Ive never met Terry but but you will learn that most for us are a little crazy but we call Terry the Chief Sorry Terry I was in a fun pokeing mood and couldnt find anyone around here to pester.

All I know is that if a dog or any other animal is attacking a human it is going down if I am around. (im more talking about dogs and other animals relative size dont think I could do much to a bear or anything like that) Now I dont carry a gun or have them loaded in the house ready to shoot anything so that isnt my concern. If a dog is attacking a person on your property or even on another property such as a sidewalk or neighbors yard if you help that person out and end up killing that dog is there going to be charges filed against the dog owner or against the good sumaritan for killing the menace to society. And ust to make things easy say that you know the dog is not your neighbors and they are not just rough houseing but it is a clear case of human distress.

I wouldnt think the rivers would be too crowded this time of year. Thought all the partier came out towards end of May and June. ( thats when I used to start the conoe season anyway)

I wouldnt think the water would have gotten up to the old pancake house. I think the top of that rip rock is a good 30 feet above normal lake level. Im also kind of interested if whats going to happen to that area when the condos go in there. I can just see all kinds of bait fisherman, women and kids over there in the future. Have they started building there yet.

That second one looks like a baot ramp. Do you think the designers were thinking ahead in cace of a flood. Just kidding just trying to make light of a bad situation

I couldnt imagine anyone that doesnt have to be out on lake right now. At least from your place to the dam. A person would be in all kinds of trouble if they were to run out of gas, dead battery, engine failure and any number of things. Then they put others at risk when something goes wrong.

OK I know you guys a probally busy but to put it into perspective for the upper lake fisherman did the authorties say where about this would put the lake level by the dam? I havent seen any pic yet but have read that its already up on the steps by outlet 2. Would and extra 10 foot of water put it up into the shelter house area or further up even?

Guy at work the other day said he was in a tournement and said not one fish was brought in. Sounds really tough.

I dont know about all sprots combined. But I know fishing in general gets more of my money than all other sports. Just with tags and gas alone and I dont even have a baot. Then you get the food, beer, lures, line weight, reels, rods, tying material, motels, camping suppiles, etc. You can make the list as long as you want. If the people doing the stats had generous limits then sure you can make it seem that way. Its like Terry said you tweek something enough you can get it to say anything. Just look at Lawyers

Had a bunch of them fly over the other day a work. Guy there said they were cormorants or also called snakeheads cause you can only see their heads when in the water. He also said they are a good sign that the crappie are starting to bite.

Something I have noticed when these type of threads are started they get into the debate of restrictions and MDC lack control. We see a lot of guys/gals asking where are the agents (I ask myself that question sometimes). One thing I was wondering is what would you pay for haveing more control from the MDC. I dont know what a local fishing tag is now but when I lived in the state it was like 14 bucks if I remember right. I live in Kansas now and have to pay 47 bucks for fishing licence and trout stamp. I will probally never keep a trout but the trout stamp is required where I fish. I would like to think I would go ahead and buy the stamp even if it wasnt required just to help out where I can. There are only a few fish I would would ever keep but even after living in Mo for 28 yrs I dont mind paying the 40 bucks for a licence. Would you guys mind paying more for your licences, permits, stamps, and tags so that more agents could be trained and hired to patrol more regular and often. By the way the only time I have ever been checked by a CA was last year when we got back to the ramp from gigging frogs.

Im not sure where Grand Lake is in OK but might not too bad of a place to go. I dont know what the conditions are there either though, it looks like some more rain is going to be dumping on the ozarks again this week.

Im hopeing that big red blob over the ozarks is a period of warm dry weather.

Another option is to go to bass pro shops and sign up for a big cedar tour. 50 bucks gets you a 2 night stay in branson and a coupon for 50 bucks worth of shows or dinner tickets. the only bad part is you have to sit through one of their scams pitches

What are the regs down there. Ive heard that they are differant if you are in a boat or on the shore. Does MDC have a site that has all that stuff.
