  1. I dont agree with that Chief. All Dems bad, no I've met two that are good in a Dem way. All Reps good, no again I have also met two or three bad ones. By the way be carefull haw hard you hit yourself with that stick under our soon to be national healthcare plan you probally couldn't get that looked till I'd say till May of 2010. Does that work for you if not thats OK cauce theres a opening in September 2011.
  2. So the immoral choices Clinton made with his woman were the choices of the Rep congress. That’s very interesting. Do you realize that if Clinton did more work on national security instead of oval office orgies we might not have to observe 9/11? Clinton was and is gutless. He knew then about the plot and did nothing. Hillary should have been in office then and I would rather have her than Obama now. And I think a lot of Dem have changed their minds to H. Clinton. The thing that hurt her worst was that Bill came with the package. She should have dumped Bill and we would have never had to hear Obama’s name. He would have stayed a no name, do nothing congressman. But everyone knows hindsight is 20/20. So you say the pres doesn’t make the laws then how is it that all Dems are blaming Bush for everything going on. Was it Bush that changed the commissions for Freddy and fanny from a sales percentage to a quota system? You can argue the Iraq War but guess what, there’s a whole lot of Dems that voted for it. Now you don’t want it. Would you rather have a preventive war with less loss of life or a reactive war after one of these foreign psychos’ sets off one of their nukes killing thousands of innocents?
  3. Its not 2000 to 2006 that disturbs me its 1992 to 2000 that has made me mad
  4. The wife and I are selling our time share at Big Cedar. If anyone is interested let me know. They go on a points system there and I think we own 6000 pts every other yr. That means you get 3000 per yr but the second yr you can roll some of your unused ones over. Im not sure of all the details just pm me or post here if you have any questions.
  5. Phill, Dano, and all the others that read my post before it was edited I apologize for the name calling. I’m just so disgusted in what the Dems have done to this country and all the votes I have wasted on them. I don’t agree with this Gov bail out at all. I have enough financial problems myself and don’t want to think about my tax dollars to going help cover up for some jerks in Washington and wall-street. I know enough of my money is spent on the Dems because the Union gives them a lot. In my opinion the loans should have been sold off to the highest bidder. I know if I was in the position these companies were in the Gov would do that to all my assets and they sure as heck wouldn’t come in and give me the money. This company should have been treated just like any other. Break it up and sell. I find it disgusting but almost comical that 2/3 of the stock market decline has come after the great Dem bailout. As for the flip-flopping thing; a politician is the voice of the people if at one point in time the people want one thing and after time they realize that it should be another then the political puppet should change that is his job. Now another way they get into trouble for flip flopping is a good bill with a whole bunch of garbage attached to it. I don’t want my spokesman vote for a good bill that will hurt more because to the piggybacking stuff attached to it. That makes me so mad like the troop funding. Those guys need it and the Dems wouldn’t vote for it unless there was a time line for withdraw. I wonder sometimes what this country and world would be like if during WW2 if people acted they way we do now. Do I agree with this war in Iraq? NO. But that doesn’t matter we are there now and need to take care of business before we leave. We had that change 14 or 15 years ago but Washington decided to tuck their tails and run. I believe that if we leave before it is stable over there we will have to start all over again after the next Dem Pres that doesn’t pay attention. The loss of life and injury is a horrible thing over there but why don’t I hear anyone talking about the senseless loss of life over here in the states. I think I saw somewhere that Chicago alone has a higher death rate than all of Iraq (not sure on this just heard it somewhere). Please correct me if I’m wrong. This country is in bad shape right now and bigger Gov and less morality is not what we need right now. I’m not a religious person but the teaching of most of the religious books is a good thing. We need to take a few steps back toward the puritan ways in which this country was founded. People need to realize that for every action there is a reaction. If the action is bad or evil there needs to be harsh punishment instead of rehab to prevent it (rehab doesn’t work if they live better in jail than they do out in society). If it is a good action there need to be praise instead of ridicule. If we actually made people responsible for their actions the Country would be in a better place. OK rant over.
  6. Man I hope he didnt get deleted with the spammers.
  7. Chief you cannot tell me you have never changed your mind on anything, everyone has. Example hey I think this rattle trap is the best lure to use today. Couple hours later well maybe this one isn’t working some I might try this jig and pig. See there that’s a flip-flop. I wasn’t saying you had flip-flopped on any issues as of lately and I don’t care if you have. What I was trying to get at was that everyone changes their mind on stuff me, you, everyone so it’s not a big surprise when politicians do it. Take the Gov bail out of wall street for example Dems were too scared to pass it be them selves so they wanted Rep help so when things go to pot they have someone else to blame. Now the Dems and Reps that changed their votes are heroes of the economy but when they run for office again their change of vote will be held against them. I’m not ranting against your post, I’m ranting against the system. Its funny haw the Liberals always think everything is all about them. McCain is not my candidate I was pulling for Fred Thompson. But I will more than likely vote Rep because I believe their view of the issues benefit the greater good.
  8. Now there’s a creditable publication with no agenda. Great source! Why don’t we take the national enquirer and NBC word for what they say? They are all crap (TV news Cable news, Printed press, and definitely everything you read on the net) it doesn’t matter if its left or right they are doing nothing but trying to split this country up. They are doing a pretty darn good job also. Man I’m sick of hearing about he did this he did that who cares what the guy/gal did yrs ago. Can anyone tell me if there’s ever been a time in your life when you change your mind about something? I bet you have you no good flip flopper. These elections would be so much better if they just had a flier stating what their values were and what they believed in. These so called plans don’t matter cause none of them follow what they say and they do nothing but turn neighbor against neighbor for about a yr or so(some longer). I tell you what it doesn’t matter who gets in we are all screwed. The man that gets into office will not magically fix the financial mess we are in for yrs. And now that the taxpayers are bailing out Wall Street and funding ACORN and the democratic socialist regime it’s going to get worse. Sorry Chief for picking your post to rant but no matter what anyone reads or watches its garbage in my opinion. I don’t mean to pick on you or you views just the media. And I realize that "democratic socialist regime" may be a little strong but what else do you call it when the gov. takes over the banks? What’s next? Hey looks like Ford and GM are in pretty big trouble Gov might as well buy them as well along as all the other manufacturing right? While they are at it why not take the farmers land so they don’t have to worry about those huge payments, but they can still farm it and the Gov would give them their allowances. Well what do you know Russia did come back it’s just shaped like what used to be the U.S.A.
  9. DOnt worry about getting in my way I wnt be down there(haven't had the chance since January) and its OK if you go down there just dont tell anyone about it.LOL Just kidding man good luck just dont catch them all before I get down there. Hopeing to get donw there in a few weeks of so. Thinking about tring to get a few guys forom the KC area together and ride down for a day trip and split the gas. Anyone interested let me know and see if we cant get a day or two scheduled.
  10. When I'm at tany thats all I use is a fly rod. When I first started useing the jigs is because some lady in a guide boat was floating by killing them with a peach jig and her partner was doing just as well on a olive. So I went up to Anglers and Archery and they set me up with some jigs they thought would work and boy did they ever. Like I said when the fog is on the water seems to work the best. I've been down there severl times in the early morning catching them every other cast hearing the guys upstream cussing me(they wernt doing that well till I give them one or two) but as soon as the fog lifts the bite slows way down. Heres another jig like thing I have tied that works well
  11. I normally use a 1/100 oz jig usually in bubble gum or yellow in color and do real well in the morning and evening when the fog is on the water. 5x tippit with the jig under a indicator between 12 in to 36 in and just drift it over the holes. I have seen people doing real well on olive and peach colors as well.
  12. Thanks Terry I didnt make it down there this yr but will next yr I hope. Wife put a stop to it but Im hopeing to get a longer chain before next yr comes around.
  13. Phill you need to quit telling people about down by the old KOA (thats where I fish) Really its no good down there, no fish at all you are better off up by the outlets When you pull in there roll your windows down and listen for the music and go the music.
  14. Phill I think hes talking about the hatchery parking lot. Lasgta if you look right next to the parking lot there is a road going inbetween there and the new brown ladder thing. Head down that road and you come to two more parking lots. The one on the left has a shelter house and is lighted pretty well.
  15. Do you need to be a member of any club to attend or is it a come one come all type thing?
  16. Good report. I have a question though it may be stupid. When a person catches one of those 3 1/2 inch rainbows and a brown eats that little fish is that considered fishing with live bait.(I think I knwo the answer but thought it would be a funny discussion)
  17. I also have been looking for a new bow. For under or around 400 bucks Ive been looking at the Martin Bengal. I just cant decide if I want to go with a Mattews or not.
  18. Thom, Maybe you or Chief or some other Obama supporter could help us all out here. I know Chief said he wasn't getting involved anymore so thats fine if he wish's. Instead of everone bashing the others canidate like a bunch of kids on the playground sayin gmy dad is better than you dad. I would like for anyone to provide statements from Obama or McCain saying what stance he takes on all of these Thom mentioned above. Hopefully someone could do the same for Biden and Palin as well. I dont want statements that are edited but in full text with questions and links to page. If a canidate changes his/her stance on something try and find both statements and why they change. There is nothing wrong with flip-floping if some reason you turn it down and that reason changes to make it better or work or vice versa. I would like to know the reason they voted the way they did. Personally I'm not voteing for McCain for him but for the moral values of the Republican party. I enjoy hunting and fishing and don't need someone in Washington to tell me what gun I can use and what gun I can't. Just wait, as sensitive as people are about the ethical issues trout fishing it's just a matter of time before the Democrates tell you what color of bugger to use between what times then you have to switch to a san wan set to a certian depth under a clear indicator. It just seems to me that the Dems only want to restrict the people who are lawabideing that make good decisions but, what to let the people who make poor decisions and break laws off the hook and giv ethem better accomidations than me if they do go to jail. I have my other issues with them as well but this is a fishing hunting site and will keep them to myself for now.
  19. Where do you guys go to find your info on the votes? Is there a gov. site that has the hole verbage on the bill? If I'm not mistaken lawmakers can add stuff onto a bill in order to get a certian group to vote for it in congress. If this is the case I would like to see what else is on these bills that Obama and McCain have voted on to see if their was some other reason for voteing the way they did. If there is a site you go to for these let me know. I would think the only good non-partisan source for these would be .gov sites not .com, .net, and esp. not .org.
  20. Troutchaser I am very impressed that you responed to the post after voteing no. I have been wanting to hear the other side. I agree that increaseing th length will not stop shuffeling, or poaching(only observant fisherman are going to dampen that). Another thought I had to go with yours is how much more fishing pressure can Tany handle once word gets out. I understand its a very popular place now but just think what it will be like wiht huge limits. And how many times can a Brown of 20 in or more be caught before it harms them. Sounds like one time and they are pretty well wiped out( I would know the only browns I've caught were well under 20)
  21. I dont know why a flat 23% income tax wouldnt work. I dont care if you make 5 billion or 25k a year 23% across the board is fair no matter how you look at it. Sure the rich will complain that they pay more than the rest but they dont have to worry about putting food on the table each night do they. Welfare, social security, and unemployment are nothing but drains on the U.S. I know that some people on here are on social security and have planned on that for their retirement so I'm not saying thats bad but in todays world we the younger generation have been drilled to same for retirement. Most companies today have some sort of retirement plan. Social security was a good idea 50 years ago but isn't needed to day. It is used today more as a piggy bank for Washington. Welfare and unemployment are one in the same. MY feeling is that if you dont have a job go get one the papers are full of them. If they dont pay what you want take it anyway untill you find one that pays better. I also think that since we have these government handouts that some sort of work should be done in order to recieve and drug tests should be performed. I have seen alot of roads, streams, parks and other areas littered that government employees have to pick up. As far as I know this is a pretty easy task that could be performed by the vast magority of Americians. There are several other tasks that need to be done that shouldnt have to be taken care of by the state employees, why not give these to those without jobs so they may earn their checks instead of waiting for handouts. I relize that people on have have been laid off or lost their job for some reason or another. I also have been in this situation several times and only once have I filed for unemployment and I felt guilty about it the whole time. I was young the first time and scared the Union would get mad if I went and worked non-union. Now I dont give a rats what the union wants cause I now know the only thing they care about is the dues not about the workers anymore. I have one main goal when I go to work and that is to EARN a living for my family. I dont want the government giving me anything. I know I got a little of the tax topic but the TV is stuck on the evil CNN right now and it is very irritating.
  22. I like the idea of the fair tax. The problem I see is the loopholes. I can just imagine all the people opening business so they could be tax exempt on purchases and then neverselling anything so they show a loss at the end of the year. I dont know much about taxes, but I do know that people will do anything they can to beat the system and put the honest hard working ones paying the bills. I can see it now the barter system comeing back and people tradeing goods drying up the governments bankrole causeing income tax to return with a 23% national sales tax and a 6 to 7% local and state saes tax. I know the loopholes in our current tax plan will never be filled cause the lawyers like them too much and benefit greatly but I belive this is what we need to fix. We have a plan that has been effect for years, we just need to improve it and close the loopholes. Weather we 30% tax up front or 30% on purchases doesnt matter its all the same. I do see where the fairtax will greatly help out investors being no income tax.
  23. Hey Taxi could you put a dime or something like that up next to the wound so we(or at least me) could get a better idea on the size of the swelling.
  24. Fall Brown run there is no such thing. Its the summer brown run you want. I just hope by mid Oct the water is at a normal level, I dont like fishing that far up the lake.
  25. I dont know about you guys but I'm really starting to enjoy this KU vs. SFU game at this point it is 20-34 SFU
