yep!! they are in the main lake channells on the James arm.We launched @ Cape Fair this am, four fisherman in two seperate boats caught fifteen in one boat 20 in the other.No luck in the coves. All very nice slabs averaging 16 inches all nice and fat threw back maybe 4 or 5 dinks. majority caught on minnows and before noon.I know this aint exactly "tearin-em-up" but they are there! The ramp at Cape Fair bridge was a night mare @ sundown.

15 min. to aunts creek ,30 to tanny, 45 or so to the pot hole.

came so close to coming over there wasn't even funny!! wish I had now but that construction snarl @ branson West was NOT appealing to me at all!! sat in it for an hour and a half tues. p.m.

fished about 4 hours this pm got skunked!! talked to several that said the same. 44 degree water temp. need anotrher week of warm weather I think. still a beautifull day to be on the water!! alot of others must of thought so too.

Those are some pretty cool facts!!just imagine if catch and release was more common then!!look how the averages dropped over time. wish there were pictures of some of those lures.

If no one minds I'd like to get in on the lessons. I do alot of bassin but know next to nothin on fly fishin but very intrested. what time and where?? still 8 8:30 @ the pavillion?

I have fished fork ,lewisville,conroe and some others in tx. but if you want to get into some real big crappie in large numbers then ray roberts cannot be beat.{6 years ago we were catching them 17/18 inches as fast as you could throw bait to em} unfortunately 8 hrs. away. It is a very nice, new fishery that they think one day will surpass lake fork in record big bass.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT BASS PRO TOLD ME WHEN i PURCHASED THE 480!! GLAD TO KNOW i WASN'T "REELED IN" WITH SALES BULL!! i HAVE HAD THIS UNIT FOR ALMOSTY A YEAR AND THOUGHT IT WAS DOING A GOOD JOB BUT i OFTEN WONDER ON SUCH PURCHASES WEATHER i SHOULD HAVE BIT THE BULLIT AND SPENT THE EXTRA BUCKS, GLAD i DIDN'T CAUSE IN MY CASE THAT EXTRA 150 WAS BETTER SPENT ON GAS FOR THAT OLD 175 EVINRUDE!! LOL!!! i APPRECIATE THE INFO!!

Ive got an eagle 480 that works pretty good{I think}I was told when i bought it that lowrance manufactors eagle and has most of the same technology. does anyone know if this is so and if the adjustments are basicly the same?? maybe the lowrance expert would enlighten us poor boys that are lucky to have any electronics how to adjust and opperate our"finders"if they differ from the high dollar stuff.I know I for one would greatly appreciate learning how to fine tune.does tweaking a unit help ,what is the cost, can it be done to the 480??I 'm running the 480 on the bow and I have a hummingbird 8000 lcr on the console . is the 8000 a good unit ?? it came on the boat with no paper work,manuals,nothing. I'm totally lost on this one and would appreciate any info on it also.I know its old but does seem to work but am lost on adjusting.

fished cape fair area mon. and saw millions and I mean millions of minnows running the bank as close as to beach themseves. never seen anything like it thought they might be being chased but could not get a bite . was about sunup and was along a 1/4 mile stretch. has anyone else ever seen this?? and why??

we caught some nice ones up around cape fair mon. one was close to 10# couple others that would go 5# all caught on pole with minnows. also caught some nice crappie driftting minnows.

I fished near joe bald this p.m. i saw several large carp carcass!! in about a 1 mile stretch there were 5 or 6 on the bank. just wandered if this is normal or somthing bad?? all were fairly large.

dont think it was as good as last year . i fish aunts creek mostly and some cape fair we tore em up last year . must admit i didnt get to go as much this year.

i always soak whites over night in salt water that and remove red meat and they will be oooo!! soooo! good!!

went to aunts creek today fished from 1 to 6 pm. NOTTA!!! SAW ONE SHORTY CAUGHT AS I WAS PUTTING BOAT ON TRAILER. SAW A FEW ON THE GRAPH BUT COULDNT GET BIT. THEW SWIMMING MINNOWS,GRUBS AND CRAW DADDY BAD CASE OF LOCK JAW.

been watching this site for awhile enjoy the info!! i live in kimberling city and retired so will post what i can.i fish t.r.[ance creek mosty] james river some and taney. not a flyfisherman yet but on the to do list. thanks phil for getting me on here
