"The Times They Are A-Changin..."
Taney has changed just like everything else.
30 years ago I was a train robber at Silver Dollar City,
Branson was a sleepy lil' town,
and Taneycomo wasn't crowded at all.
My Dad and I caught lots of big fish.
'Course, there was no fly shops in the area,
& no fishing reports on the internet either.
I tend to prefer fishing out of my boat these days.
Less crowded and I can be as mobile as I want.
You can catch fish from one end of this lake to the other.
You see...I ain't afraid of a good fight.
Never have been.
And when a guy wants to walk right thru the area I'm fishing;
well......I'd like to carefully lay down my rod and whip his a**!
But those days are gone 'cause these days & times,
you never know when someone will stab or shoot you.
So I've adjusted my tactics and pick less crowded areas.
That's why, although I prefer to flyfish...
you just might see me anchored down lake,
kicking back, sipping a a cold Leinenkugel waiting on a
stupid one to eat my inflated nightcrawler.
Yep, I like to eat 'em occasionally too.
I love fishing Taney
and I refuse to let some peckerwood ruin it!
On the other hand.....
we kill a couple of 'em...maybe the message would get out.
